Kapitel 41: Plot Armor
Nie Li explained about where the treasure might be which ended up with the 3 city lord host locations. After debating, finally the location chosen was located on the same Military ground that Chen Xin appointed.
"Alright, since the location you are talking about is the same as the one I chose, let's go now", said Chen Xin.
When the others finished determining the location, they heard Chen Xin's words. They all looked at Chen Xin, because the location he chose was the same as the one they negotiated with Nie Li.
When they started moving and were about to head for the Military ground location, Chen Xin felt a demon beast approaching. Chen Xin immediately spoke to the group, "A demonic beast is approaching". Before anyone replied to Chen Xin's words, they suddenly heard a rustling sound from inside the building. In a few moments, a group of giant apes moved towards us.
Chen Xin immediately took out his sword, suddenly an arrow was shot and embedded in the giant ape's body, Chen Xin used a roar towards the giant ape and immediately split its head. Everyone was shocked by the arrow that hit the giant ape and Chen Xin's reaction speed killed the ape.
They looked at Chen Xin and looked at the arrow shooter, they saw Chen Xin. Most of them immediately took their crossbows and thrust them with arrows. They immediately shot the arrows but because of the ape's agility they fled quite easily. The monkey started mocking them, Chen Xin saw the monkey who was being distracted, Chen Xin took his spear and immediately stuck it into the monkey's head.
Chen Xin shouted towards those who could fight at close range to let Nie Li shoot the arrows alone. They could only agree upon seeing Chen Xin's speed at killing the giant ape. The fighting Chen Linjian saw Chen Xin's swift reaction to the current situation. Chen Linjian shouted and told Chen Xin to lead them.
Even though Chen Xin didn't want to be the leader, Chen Xin still accepted it because he didn't want anyone to die under his supervision.
Chen Xin immediately set up a battle formation for them, while Chen Xin helped Chen Linjian up front.
Nie Li on the other hand continued to shoot arrows at the giant ape while watching Chen Xin kill the giant ape with precision without wasting any time and saw Chen Xin use an unknown movement technique.
Chen Xin continuously killed the giant ape using various weapons, if the enemy around him was dead, Chen Xin immediately used a bow to shoot at the giant ape's head.
Nie Li, who saw Chen Xin kill nearly a dozen giant apes without using any soul force, was just pure physical strength and the use of weapons. This made others realize that Chen Xin's martial arts could surpass cultivators ranked above him to some extent. This made other people fear and admire him.
It has been several hours they fought with a group of giant apes. Chen Xin and his group kept retreating towards where they were going.
Chen Xin retreated backward to insert his spear and sword into his spatial ring and only used his bow to fight the giant ape. Chen Xin didn't want others to think that he wasn't tired from the start, which would make it hard for Chen Xin to explain.
When Chen Xin retreated and changed his weapon to another bow that saw his coming, Chen Xin's clothes were full of blood. At the same time Chen Xin sensed that several people had come to the ancient ruins, Chen Xin knew it was the Dark Guild members who had received news of their expenses coming to kidnap some noble children for ransom.
While everyone was still fighting, a loud roar could be heard by everyone. As Chen Linjian asked Nie Li about the demon beast's strength. Suddenly another very loud roar rang out. Hearing this Chen Xin frowned because Chen Xin could identify it, it was a Gold rank demon beast. It would be difficult for Chen Xin to fight in front of them. Chen Xin volunteered to become a gold rank demon beast bait and his side was told to break up groups to avoid the demon beast siege.
When Chen Xin had taken the gold rank demon beasts away from the group, Chen Xin instantly killed the giant ape and continued trailing the group while assisting in the darkness.
Chen Xin could feel that a peak Silver rank demon beast but was chasing after Nie Li and just as Chen Xin thought, Nie Li looked at the members of the Dark Guild and immediately directed that peak Silver rank giant ape towards the Dark Guild members. In the end, Nie Li met Ye Ziyun and fell into ruins.
"Huhh, whether there are additional incidents or not, it looks like Nie Li still got the armor plot." Chen Xin sighed with Nie Li's luck.
After it got dark, Chen Linjian and his group gathered on the military ground, they did not immediately dig it for fear of being surrounded by the horde of giant apes. So, Chen Linjian decided to carry on tomorrow and find a shelter to rest.
After a while, Chen Xin moved towards the hideout of Chen Linjian and company.
When Chen Linjian and his group were preparing a place to rest. Chen Linjian and the others were shocked but immediately turned into happiness, because Chen Xin had survived the Gold rank Giant Ape.
They went to cheer for Chen Xin and some were still worried about Ye Ziyun and Nie Li who weren't around. Seeing Chen Linjian thinking about Ye Ziyun and Nie Li, Chen Xin told Chen Linjian that in the chase of the giant ape Chen Xin saw Nie Li and Ye Ziyun hide and managed to escape the demon beasts. Chen Xin tells that, Chen Xin is still on demon beast chase so Chen Xin can't meet the two of them. When Chen Linjian heard this, Chen Linjian relaxed a little.
On the other hand, when Huyan Lanruo who had been sad and worried about Chen Xin for sacrificing himself to become a Gold rank demon beast bait and saw Chen Xin was now fine. Huyan Lanruo immediately ran towards Chen Xin and hugged him.
The next day they dug up the place Chen Xin had pointed to on the military ground to find the treasure. Chen Xin felt that Nie Li and Ye Ziyun's underground was already there. After they finished digging they rushed down and they saw that Nie Li and Ye Ziyun were already in the treasure room.
After they had gathered all of the treasure, Nie Li told them that they should leave as soon as possible because a Dark Guild is coming for them. Everyone is getting ready to return to Glory City. Chen Xin's goal on this trip was to get acquainted with Huyan Lanruo and deepen his relationship, which was successful in the end.
