Kapitel 7: Chapter 6- The Legendary Sword

A week had passed since Kazuki and Sakura entered the forest and are running low on supplies. According to Pegasus' map, they are almost at it's heart.

" Hey Sakura."

" Hmmm?"

" How's our food supply?" Kazuki asked.

" It's running low. We only have enough food to last three days." Sakura replied with a sigh. She doesn't want to stave to death and die in an unknown forest.

Kazuki saw something shine not far away and the light reflected on the trees were shaped like a sword," We better move fast." he said excitedly. He was sure that it was the sword and that they were near the heart so he ran as fast as he could. When they reached the heart of the forest, they saw the golden sword stuck in the back of a golem.

Kazuki charged towards the golem but was sent flying back to Sakura. " Damn! How do we get the sword." he groaned.

" Calm down Kazuki. We need to defeat it first."

" But how? Its so strong." Kazuki was busy finding the golem's weak spot when Sakura said, " I don't know. Golems have complete immunity to both ice and fire so my ice magic can't do harm." that moment, he lost all hope.

" Then I'll use my scythe." Kazuki said thinking it was the only way.

" No! You'll lose control. Save that as a last resort." she insisted. Kazuki had no choice but to agree since he could not come up with a plan.

Sakura then cast some buff spells for Kazuki and herself. She casted [damage nullification], [strengthening], [swift boost], and [light heal].

" Don't tell me your going to fight him using brute strength." Kazuki said in shock when he noticed Sakura chage forward.

" There's no other way."

They fought with the golem until sunset but they could only land a few scratches. Because to the time, they retreated and made camp a kilometer away from the beast.

" Phew! I'm tired." Kazuki said as he fell to the ground and began to close his eyes.

" Hey Kazuki."

" Hmmm?" Kazuki replied with eyes closed.

" Can you use your scythe against the golem?" Sakura asked. She knew that there was no other way so Kazuki's last resort was their only choice.

" Yeah but, I'll lose control." Kazuki said in a worried tone. It was not worry for himself but he was worried on what he might do to Sakura.

" I'll try my best to stop you if you really do lose control." she replied with a confident voice.

The next day, Kazuki woke up early to train. But this time, it's different from his usual daily training. He focused on his magic training and tried pulling his scythe. It was afternoon when he finished his training and can now last 5 minutes holding the scythe. They packed their things to head back to the golem. This time, they were sure that they would win.

They fought until midnight but they could only deal a small amount of damage.

" Kazuki use it now!" Sakura yelled telling Kazuki to pull the scythe.

" Roger!"

Kazuki pulled out a knife and cut his finger to summon the scythe. Due to his immense magical power, the wound caused by the knife healed in an instant. This effect only applies to light wounds and bruises. For deeper wounds, they need to use healing magic.

" Charge! I'll immobilize it using ice magic."

" I'm counting on you."

Kazuki charged while Sakura used ice magic to freeze the golem. Though golems are immune to cold, they can still be frozen for a few seconds because it will take them a while to gather strength to break the ice.

" Hyaaaaaaa!!!"

Kazuki swung his scythe and it glowed red showing signs of extreme bloodlust. He tried to let go of it but the golem would still need one more hit, so he endured the pain and swung the scythe again giving his last blow. The golem fell to the ground but Kazuki went berserk.

" Haaaaaaah!!!" a powerful red aura filled with bloodlust.

" Kazuki!" Sakura's face was filled with fear. She knew thiiss was not the Kazuki she knew.

" Kill! Kill everyone!!"

" Stop it! Please!"

Sakura shouted but her words were ignored. Sakura tried to stop him but he was just too powerful. Kazuki kicked her rolled and she rolled to the ground vomiting blood.

" Kill! Kill the enemy." Kazuki shouted while walking toward's the weakened girl.

Sakura ran towards the dead golem and pulled the sword from it's back. The moment the sword was drawn, it emitted a white glow that even the night's darkness could not match.

" Kill!"

The sword then flew from Sakura's hand and rushed towards Kazuki. Kazuki tried to stop it with the scythe but it scratched his skin causing the sword to glow brighter. The moment the light vanished, Kazuki fell to the ground unconscious.

Next Morning,

Kazuki slowly opened his eyes and saw Sakura crying.

" Sakura? What happened?" he asked not remembering what happened.

" You lost control." Sakura said in a serious tone, and suddenly hugged him while crying. " You idiot! Don't worry me like that again. I thought you were gonna fall under the scythe's power." she cried until no tears came out of her eyes.

After that, Pegasus landed in front of them.

" Congratulations. You have succeeded in your quest."
