Kapitel 24: The Moon is Rising
Alexios was pleased at his progress since most of his time was at a desk writing letters and orders overseeing everything happening. Only leaving to meet other lords to discuss his expansion and plans. It was tough at first but with Lil's help, it soon became second nature to which Lili had said he was born to do it. The mountain tribes fought hard not wanting rulership over them but once Alexios found valuable materials in the mountains that they were unwilling to trade for, he took matters into his own hands after getting approval from lord Stark. Eddard was hesitant at first but agreed only since the mountain tribes north of Wolfswood would sometimes come down to raid.
While it was a hassle, it was easy and quick after finding them, most had little to no tactics other then charge. With that and the superior weapons and armor, Alexios's different regiments secured the mountains in only a few months after getting into the mountains. The distance of travel took most of the time which frustrated Alexios to no end but he had his advisors overseeing things while he was away with his general. Once returning, Alexios helped his brother and sister with some tips and a spar each to see their progress which was amazing. Both were hardworking and trying their best, though it was for a few reasons.
After the death of Garth Dragen, Lucius felt he should've been stronger to save his father and after the event suffered from nightmares repeating the event almost every night. It would be so bad some night's he would get up and train for hours just to make his body exhausted enough to sleep through his fear. Mira was almost emotionless on the outside to everyone being the anchor for her loved ones but the cracks showed all too well to Alexios. Seeing a tear fall onto her cheek when she thought she was alone or sitting in her "secret" place just for some quiet time and look at the sky with eyes full of doubt and sorrow. Alexios knew he had to do something but he had no idea how to when they had only known each other, really known each other for less then a year.
The times were changing and the cold weather only made it seem solemn and a feeling of loss. Relationships bloomed and flourished in the time but so did the dwindling flames of other's. The world was experiencing unknown change that only a few could sense and even less could pinpoint where it was centered. Most people in the North under the rulership of Alexios were happy with the prosperity and comfort he brought. Higher birth rates, more food, less crime and better living conditions. The ideas from him and his council brought about great change that influenced his surroundings, some tried to copy his ways and others tried to reject it but most failed.
Alexios sat in his room upon his bed as Reana hugged him from behind while he read a letter that had just come in. "It would seem that the pieces are set and now I can focus on the two now... Are you sure I should do this, they have their own lives and they could venture out, with this I am tethering them to me no matter how far they go." Alexios grabbed Reana's hand with his that was placed on his broad chest. "They still have a choice but I have seen the way they look at you, full of reverence and respect. It'll make you closer and let your bond grow."
The two ended their talks as Alexios crawled onto the bed pushing her under him as her body heated up and her breathing grew rapid. The night was filled with a heated atmosphere, moans, and words that would make a brothel girl blush slightly. The sun's rays of light shone brightly in the morning onto Lucius and Mira, they were engaged in a spar that was being led by Lucius. Lucius has always won but it has always been close and both have consistently improved. After finishing, Alexios gave them some water and congratulated them.
"Well done you two, you have exceeded my expectations and now I offer you a choice to change your lives. A choice that is only given to those I not only see potential in but also have trust in." The Blood guard was present and circled the two as they looked around in confusion and a little worry. Alexios grabbed a goblet that was handed by Reana with a smile and warmth as she reciprocated. "Now, my blood, my family, my chosen, come and take upon my blood now, be reborn as new, my Blood guard…"
As the two watched his blood drip into the goblet and all the members present staring intently. They weren't sure what to do at the moment of trial. Mira was hesitant and her gut screamed out in protest but as she was about to step back, Lucius stepped forward with intent and a steeled mind. He grabbed the goblet with two hands and lifted ever slightly staring at the blood for a few seconds. No one urged or discouraged him as they knew this was his choice, one that would affect him greatly.
Mira watched on as she saw her brother lift the goblet higher and drink the blood as some dripped down his lips once he finished. Then he looked at her swallowing the blood with a conflicted expression. He wanted to yell out and say to come drink it, to not let him be the only one, to do this with him. Her gut twisted and her legs shook as she took an unsteady step forward. Alexios watched with all his focus hoping his siblings would not regret whichever decision they took.
Mira's legs slowly stepped, one foot in front of the next till she was next to Lucius who handed her the goblet. She could see the blood, it looked peaceful and yet something about it made her scared, like something was swimming in it waiting for her to get closer. The goblet raised and she drank the blood even as her heart beat faster and faster. Lucius suddenly afterwards smiled but his smile twisted for just a second before collapsing and losing consciousness. Toros caught him and carried him to a bed inside for his "evolution" as Mira watched in horror.
Her mind running every possibility before whispering only one thing she could think of that made little sense and more based on her fear that had already grown.
"Poison...why…" as she was going to continue she lost consciousness as well before Alexios caught her and carried her as well. Day turned to night and Alexios was seen sitting cross legged reading a scroll as he watched over his siblings. Lucius bolted upward from his prone position before locking his sight onto Alexios while getting up. "Be careful, you'll be weak till probably morning, I'm told it's probably harder on those who don't possess magic. A new bed is over there if you want to get out from your sweat covered sheets."
It was a stressful night to say the least as the two kept waking up with nightmares and pain. At one point, Alexios had to hold down Lucius as he had to endure a massive transformation. A few of his companions came to check on them when they were free or up but not for long. Weeks went on like that as were now finally getting accustomed to their new bodies shape and ability. Alexios smiled at the two as they smiled and laughed at the dining table discussing battle formations and counter strategies as if it was common past time much to his enjoyment.

When seeing this, Alexios was lost in thought after seeing Child of the Wolf for both of them. It would seem he underestimated them much more than he realized since Child of the Wolf probably affected them in a way similar to making a pack with Alexios and that's what caused so much distress inside their bodies. It tried to reject the submission to Alexios and ultimately failed in doing, in the end though it was better this way. As their leader, they will grow alongside him and him with them almost tripling the speed at which they will progress normally. He could only dream of what him and his siblings would be like in a year.
