Kapitel 34: Chapter 34
Dez decided to go back to the castle without Max and Sorsha, he didn't want to take any other chances. He stepped out of shadows in front of Aloras chamber, still holding her unconscious body. He didn't want to enter the castle from the front because Aloras birthday party was about to start, he didn't want to alarm the guests. He walked into her chamber, laid her on the bed and stared at her beautiful face. He was still pissed off about what happened, but he felt better when he held her in his arms. He knew he had to go and tell King Titus about what happened, but he didn't want to leave her. He sighed, " Protect and watch her", and turned around to walk out. Once he left, his shadow was still there standing over Aloras body.
Tristan's Pov
I was getting ready to walk with Lynia to the ballroom, but I felt something was off. The energy in the air wasn't right and I couldn't put my finger on it and it's driving me crazy. Lynia grabbed my arm when I was in deep thought and she startled me. She noticed and looked at me, " Why are you so nervous, it's only our daughter's birthday, not her mating party", as she smiled. She really knew how to make me smile. I would be nervous about my daughter's mating party, but that's not the problem. " I don't know what it is love, I just feel a little uneasy. Maybe I will be more at ease once Alora returns. She stopped walking and smiled, " Are you worried that much about her? Don't worry my love, she's with Dez, he will protect her with his life", and start back walking. I know he would protect Alora, but unexpected things happen in an instant. We walked down the corridor until we reached the ballroom and I must admit, Marina went all out for Alora's birthday. All the decorations were silver and red, she had all of Aloras favorite foods too. There were all different color roses but mainly red and white. I looked around the room observing everything when I noticed Malik and Aubree walk in. I really thought that they would be one of the last ones here. They both looked so good together, Malik stood there with Aubree on his arm and she's wearing his colors! I never thought they would be so open before they announced that they were mates. Lord Cletus and my father made their entrances with Marina, who was looking so sad and defeated. I grabbed Lynias hand and began to walk over to my father. He was chatting with Lord Cletus when we arrived and stood to the side of them. He turned and looked and Lynia and I, " Tristian, Lynia, it's nice to you see. Lynia how are you feeling?", as he turned to look at her. She gave him a smile,, " I'm doing well King Titus. I'm just so excited to see Aloras face when she sees everything". He smiled as he grabbed a glass of wine from the servant as she walked by, " How many times do I have to tell you to call me Titus, you are family after all. And you're about to have the next Dragon Heir, there is no need to be formal with me". I saw the expression on Marina's face as he said that, she looked even more hurt. I don't know what she expected from coming here, the bond between mates is much stronger than everything. Plus I've never liked or even love her, she was just someone from my past. I was so lost in thought about my past while Lynia was talking to my father, I didn't notice that Malik and Aubree had walked over to us. "Tristan, did you hear me?" I turned to Malik and smiled, " I was lost in thought for a second, what did you say?" He looked at Lynia then Aubree, " I swear Tristan what has been up with you lately?" "I'm just worried about Alora, this is the first time in years that she has gone to town", as I smiled. We stood there and talked for a while when Dez walked into the room with a very intense look on his face. As soon as he walked up I was the first to ask, "Where is Alora", I asked worriedly. He looked at my father, " Your Majesty, Alora is in her room. I need to talk to you, Tristan and Malik in private". Everyone looked at Dez with a curious and worried look on their faces, my father finally replied, " Ok we will be there shortly". He looked at Lynia and smiled, "Why don't you go help Alora get ready for her party. The guest will be arriving soon". He looked at Cletus and told him the same thing about Sorsha. Then tell Max to join us in the study". "Come Dez, lets have this talk", and walked away. I looked at Lynia, " I will find out what is going on love", as I kissed her forehead. I have a feeling something very bad happened while they were in town. That might be the reason I was feeling so uneasy all night. Dammit I really hope King Morton didn't try to make his move!
Lynias Pov
I walked to Aloras chamber with nothing but worry on my mind. The look on Dez's face was sketched in her mind because it was a look of worry and anger? I'm sure he was angry, I really hope Tristan will get to the bottom of this. I opened her door and she was sleeping peacefully on her bed. There were bags and boxes in her room stacked in the corner that arrived from town. It seems that she had a good time shopping in town, I guess she's just tired. I walked over to her bed to wake her, but as soon as I began to shake her, she jumped up looking around and screaming "Dont fucking touch me!". She even attempted to hit me but I caught her arm and hugged her. "Its ok baby girl, you're her with us, you're at home", as I tried my best to console her. She opened her eyes and looked at me in shock, "Mother", then she began to cry hysterically. I sat there rubbing her back as she cried her eyes out, what the hell happened? She began to stop crying and looked at me," Mother, someone tried to kidnap Sorsha and I. I don't know how I'm here, the last thing that I remember is this guy putting a rag over my face". I felt myself becoming angry, what the hell did she just say? "Who tried to kidnap you Alora?", I asked as I was trying to calm down. "I don't know, I just know they wanted Sorsha and I". When she looked at me, she gasped, " Mother, your fangs, your eyes". I closed my eyes and took a deep breath trying to calm myself, it's not good for the baby. I sat there for a few seconds when I heard Aubree walk up behind me. She looked at Alora who was still in my lap and looked at me, but before she could say anything I told Alora to go and get dressed. "We will discuss this after the party. The guest has started to arrive". She stood up and gave me a look as if she wanted to say something, but she just turned around and went into the bathroom. Dammit that fucker King Morton has made his move! She's still a newborn, I thought we had more time. Aubree came and stood by me, " Did King Morton make his move?". I nodded, " If she didn't have Dez as a bloodmate, he would have her by now". "Mhmmm, he indeed is a strong dragon. Razel and our mother are supposed to attend her party tonight", as she shook her head in agreement. I knew exactly what she's hinting at and she was right, " We will have guests until we leave, we must prepare for everything".
King Morton's Castle
A young Vampire is just getting back from a trip to town to clear his head. He is so tired of hearing the thoughts of the people in this castle, it's giving him a headache. As he was walking to his chamber he heard some very interesting thoughts that peeked at his interest. He walked down the corridor to the garden and saw Lucis sitting on the bench drinking wine. Why the hell is in the garden? No one actually came out here since my mother died. He walked over and stood next to Lucis, " Lucis, you should tone down your hatred and disgust for father. If I was truly loyal to him, you would be dead by now". Lucis was so lost in thought he didn't even notice that Marius had come and stood by him. He took another sip of the wine, " I thought you were at the tavern drinking, it feels good to let my thoughts run wild without worrying about anyone listening to them". Marius chuckled, " No matter how well you protect your mind, I will always know what you're thinking". Lucis put his glass down and huffed, " what do you want Marius? I'm enjoying my alone time". Marius was looking at the garden, " I see that now you know that father doesn't spare anyone with his cruelty. I need your help Lucis, I need your help to take him down!", as he hissed. Lucis eyes widened and his mouth dropped, " Marius.....even tho King Morton is your father, he won't hesitate to kill you for saying those words". Marius smirked, "Come take a walk with me Lucis, let's have a talk. I believe we can help each other". They walked to a side of the castle that was off limits except for special people. Lucis became more nervous, he knew that walking on this side of the castle would lead to his death if King Morton found out. Marvis walked to the middle of a group of cells and turned around, " I see my father still doesn't trust you completely and after all these years of loyalty. We are in a part of the castle that nuls someone's gifts. Father had this part of the castle built when he was after the first Queen. We should be able to talk without consequences or anyone else spying on us". Lucis suddenly had an idea, with Marius on his side, he should succeed in his plans. A spark of light was ignited in his eyes as a smile swept across his face.
