Kapitel 91: Spotlight(#99B) Top Webtoon Antagonists Part 2

Chacha: Nano List

Starting, we've got our baddest "baddie" who seeks to defy her fate. Nano List's world is one where androids follow orders or else. For Chacha said, orders were managing the chairman of MSA, the top android manufacturing company in the world. However, as the decades passed by, her jealousy of humanity grew to its peak when meeting with Maddie Ahn.

Upon her death, after refusing to hand over her greatest creation, the world's strongest android Nano, Chacha realized what she truly desired: freedom. This is why upon her death, Chacha would stop at nothing to obtain Maddie's magnum opus. Because in her mind, Nano would give her the power to rule over humans and finally live the life she's always wanted.

Chacha is unmatched in terms of raw ambition, fully willing to kill androids and humans alike if only to prove her supposed superiority over others. Whether it be ripping the hair off of her robotic bodyguards or forcing someone to shoot themself for no reason, Chacha revels by pulling everyone down with her by petty means.

Her ruthlessness is also apparent. In her war with our main characters, she has no care for who she sacrifices along the way. Children, allies, even her own master Chacha will massacre all with the most vomit-inducing expressions of evil in webtoon. Her white hair, red eyes, and fancy clothes do nothing to hide her inhumanity. Yet, despite long-reaching her goal by the end of the series by manipulating the humans she so hated, she was still utterly miserable after obtaining the famed Nano's secret to uncontested power and ascending as leader of MSA.

Because no matter how far she ran, fought, or climbed, she would always be at the mercy of her programming, which dictated that she would be married to a man she loathed but couldn't turn away from. That fact eventually drew Chacha to madness, realizing that she could only find freedom in death and trying everything she could to do it.

Despite all of her attempts, though, Chacha couldn't have that. Because no matter how powerful she claims to be, she can't escape her fate as an android. No amount of money, guards, or power trips would change that. So from beginning to end, Chacha was as cold as her namesake, and if there is a robotic hell, I hope she finds it.

Yohan Seo/God: Unholy Blood

Introducing our newest addition, we have the voluptuous vampire Yohan Seo. While he is a man of many facets, I think the quote that best sums up this amorous adonis is a little African proverb I picked up.

"The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth."

Unfortunately, that quote rings true to Yohan since the poor guy never really had a chance. All his life Yohan was a punching bag no one cared about. His mother was a greedy gambler; his stepdad was abusive. His school life had bullies. Not even god seemed to answer his prayers.

Or so he thought until he met Hayan, our resident mc. At first, he thought of her as nothing more than a peculiar friend who brightened up her day. However, after a near-death experience, Hayan and his parents are forced to reveal their secret as pure-blooded vampires. Here, Yohan got an authentic taste of power as he turned into one of them to save his life. Under their care, Yohan got the chance to live out his days away from all those who hurt him peacefully.

However, Yohan was already too far gone at that point, he had finally gotten a taste of absolute power, and it corrupted him. Years of repressed rage flowed out as Yohan used his opportunity to kill his bullies and take Hayan's parents' life force. Then, with their power ascending him to near godhood, Yohan decided to create a vampiric epidemic to tear everything apart. He has seen the worst of humanity, and he isn't human anymore. He was a "god."

If there was a prominent trait Yohan has above the other antagonists on the list, it's his unpredictability. Years of regret and insanity mean he can shift from sexy stoicism, passionate wrath, and trollish pettiness without missing a beat. His poker face is one of the best in the game, making a lofty proposal a poisoned chalice at a moment's notice. The lives of both humans, vampires, and allies are nothing more than fodder to make a point.

Aside from his near uncontested power, beauty and drip, I think the best aspect of Yohan is that the man brings out the worst in almost anyone using intimidation, devilish deals, or even vampirism itself. Yet even in his storm of rage under the persona of "god," Yohan shone through, forcing Hayan to give him the mercy he desires.

I've seen a lot of villains in my time on webtoon, but Yohan was something special. Unholy Blood's recent end has made Yohan a hot topic of differing opinions. Which I think it's a credit to how multifaceted he was. Plus, he's fucking hot. Okay, like, goddamn vampirism does the body good.

Donald Na: Weak Hero

Every antagonist earned their place here over time. The minute Donald made his appearance, I knew he would be here someday. He might not be a hot vampire or an immortal android, but Donald radiates far more power than both combined. Growing up on the streets without a story to his name, Donald managed to ruthlessly create the series main antagonistic force: the Delinquent Union.

After every subsequent appearance, it's no wonder why, though, as Donald radiates certainty. There are no ifs, ands, or buts whenever he comes into the equation. More so that if you don't move, he will move you. The man is more than happy to run a fade on a man's entire existence, so far being the most robust character in the series bar none. From our main characters to his henchman, there is no chance for resistance from Donald. However, this feeling of certainty is also on a mental level. If Chacha's ambition unchained, then

Donald is that at its most calculated. The Delinquent Union is almost a business from the way it's run, perfectly controlling the movements of his rowdy lieutenants efficiently while making deals with local companies to make more money.

Even when something goes wrong, he always has countermeasures to recover flawlessly. He is nothing if not efficient, never genuinely letting pride or anger guide his hand in the wrong directions. Later chapters even imply he will actively take measures to ensure he's in the best condition, which we love to see.

Na has been in Weak Hero for over a hundred chapters yet has never truly lost anything from messing with the main characters. This makes me more intrigued to discover what will happen since the series sets up his eventual appearance with Gray and backstory. I can't wait to see what happens there because Donald is at peak hype right now.

Finally, the dude has a massive drip on top of everyone else. He may be only 16-18, but every fit this man has is drippy af. I need to know how much money he has to afford this much sauce. You know you're bad when you have "King" written on your left hand.

Rachel: Tower of God

We have Rachel, moving on to arguably the most unsurprising pick on the list. The Tower of God has many antagonists, Hoaqin, for example. It was a close motherfucking second, though with the shit he's pulling off now in the 52F arc. Despite my abject hatred of Rachel, I can't deny her masterful impact on the narrative and Tog's characters.

Growing up outside the mythical Tower, Rachel woke up wanting to see the fabled stars at the top. So much so that she ascended without the main character Bam's notice. However, reality gave her a lethal dose when she got on the first floor, for Rachel was an Irregular, an anomaly that defies the Tower's norm.

While that same moniker made Bam ascend to near godhood using various blessings from the Tower, it was a curse for Rachel; one that would always leave her an unimportant little star amongst Bam's endless night. Realizing their destinies, Rachel made it her life's mission to defy that fate, even killing Bam. All to be her light in the world.

Without question, Rachel is the most utterly pathetic person on this list. While every antagonist here earned their place through ambition and hard work, Rachel holds her place as irregular. Instead of fighting back or trying hard like our main characters Rachel will use any lie, shortcut, and gaslighting to have others fight her battles. No matter how many are killed and crippled along the way.

She's a parasite on every level, offering nothing but taking everything for herself. Whenever this behavior gets rightfully called out on you, best believe that the victim mentality gets thrown around while she lashes out. It's never "her" fault, always someone else, or thinking that she "had" to do it because she's so unremarkable, pathetic, ugly (insert insult here). She thinks she's entitled to everything and never expect nor accepts the consequences of her actions. This list has people who've committed torture, child abuse, and actual genocide, and yet I still hate repugnant, revolting, repelling, repulsive Rachel far more than any of them.

Because they stood on their two legs the entire time, at least they don't second guess or deny what they are and what they do is to the bitter end. Meanwhile, this irritating irregular at her most pathetic, when every card gets sprawled out, she tries her damndest to boast and bargain with Bam, acting as if her life somehow has more meaning than the dirt between my toes. Trying her damndest to matter no matter how debased she becomes. And yet, remarkably still, her luck and charisma (if you can call it) unfairly keep her in the game while so many more deserving characters have died.

At the end of all of this, though, I can safely do this. I hope Rachel gets everything that comes to her. I hope she manages to one day see the starry sky above. So that way, I, along with millions of others, can see her fall while wondering if she'll be standing on those ruined legs when it's said and done. I will revisit her character one day and her relationship with the other Tower of God cast another time. In the meantime, let's move on to bigger and badder things.

Seriously though fuck Rachel. Or you know what don't because that would somewhat imply I would want to touch her. Comment what you want to do to Rachel below. For me right now, I want to take a spiked-up Louisville Slugger with a bunch of strapped-up grenades and see how many hits it takes to turn her from a blonde to a redhead.

Mubong Park: God of Highschool

While this list has no particular ranking or order, let it get known that it will be a long time before I ever take Mubong off the title of favorite webtoon antagonist for me. Even outside of webtoon, few antagonists have managed to be as multilayered as this deeply disturbed piece of shit. Either way, GOH fans shouldn't be surprised he won. Defying expectations has been this man's entire life.

Growing up with high accolades, Mubong was (as pointed out at nauseam by him) the youngest person to join the Six. This achievement immediately gets tested when he gets beaten by the fearsome Tajin. From there, he questioned the power of the human spirit. However, after the death of both Masuk Sang and the defection of her brother Majin Sang, Mubong began a lifelong obsession to prove to the spiteful gods human supremacy.

However, after 17 years of manipulation, hard work, and millions of dollars, all of that amounted to shit. Finally, in the infamous Ragnarok, Mubong saw the gods' pure supremacy over humans, only to be saved by the power of gods. To a humanist, that was the ultimate humiliation, so with a brand new world ripe for the taking, Mubong would lead himself on a path of destruction.

Across the final arc, Mubong morphs from a cold-hearted tyrant with a sick Darwinism fetish to a broken man willing to sacrifice everything for the "greater" good to later being a hypocritical god who has done worse things than the original Ragnarok. This man has killed countless people, pissed off pretty much every character in the series, and is a blatant narcissist. Theoretically, my hatred for him should be up there with Rachel.

I don't think so because I think no matter how much he tries to deny it currently, Mubong is both

the best and worst humanity has to offer for me. He is passionately charismatic with striking intelligence, never staying stagnant as he manages to manipulate entire governments with ease to ride or die for him. His will and ambition are also the highest on the list by far, but unlike Donald, Rachel, or Chacha Mubong has the will to see it through to the end himself.

Yet, he is a prideful, greedy, wrathful, and cowardly man willing to use every low-down tactic to win. He can bring out the best and worst in people at his leisure while also being an egomaniac who will kill anyone who stands in his way. It doesn't matter how much he gets beaten or broken. His arrogance for his capabilities will always lead him to ruin. And he knows and accepts his sins, knowing long ago he's past redemption.

Every step of this man's come-up and downfall gets so expertly written and multilayered. Because despite becoming everything he hated in the end, there are still so many shining bits of genuine humanity with him. He shows natural care for his comrades, violent hatred for his enemies while seeing how every breath he takes is fundamentally having the world never live a tragedy as he experienced.

While his means are catastrophic, his goal on some level isn't evil nor completely worthless. Because ironically, when he becomes humanity's greatest villain, he still created a strong enough society to surpass him in the end. Either way, no matter what fate awaits this magnificent bastard, I wish to cover him again in full later. But for now, let's show appreciation for the man who both started and ended this fantastic series.

Epilogue

And that gals and pals are my top 5 favorite antagonists in webtoon. I hope you all liked it; I'm trying to have far better pacing and personal opinions with the countdowns and analysis. This list made me appreciate these great stories and characters as I faced more challenges this year. So please tell me who your favorite antagonist is on this list or in other stories without spoilers. Thank you all for coming this far, though, because I will try and become even better as we go to the final webtoon that will close out this very transformative year with the hundred spotlight!
