Chapter 14: Staying low

One thing HaoJiazhi is really happy about this kingdom is that the economy is not that bad

Simple food and clothes can be bought with one month's salary, minimum of 100 ban liang

The basic necessity is really cheap but things that are not basic need is really high

And the average salary of people in the city area is around 200-300 only, not including merchant and government officers

Thus, Hao Jiazhi has made a plan to step up their yard and get inside another district, called Xingnyi

The current number of men they have right now is 50 and now they have all 5 shadows

(Their current monthly money usage is 14000, which is not good as it more than they earn)

When Xu Hai learned that Hao Jiazhi has his own little organization, she was shocked to hear it as the information she has gathered about Hao Jiazhi is that he is a plain fat ass kid who has no aim in his life

But after knowing that Hao Jiazhi rules Jinyi district and is now moving towards other districts, she was speechless

In her small meeting with Hao Jiazhi, in the capital city, she did realize that Hao Jiazhi is not a simple guy but she didn't know that he is a straight evil guy

She even asked him the reason for all this and the answer she got just blew her mind

He said "Because this is the only way that suits me"

It is clear that he is just pure evil

And now that Hao Jiazhi no longer has spies around him, he can move freely

Hao Jiazhi told his men's to collect as much as information possible in the next one week about District Xingnyi as they will soon begin the attack

They are not really gonna fight

And so begins the operation

District Xingnyi-

This district is not that big as Jinyi but still hold a population more than its size

There are more than 10,000 peoples living in this district

This district will have a money structure like this,

Simple job person will pay around 30 ban liang per month and for merchants,

They will pay 50- 1000 ban liang per week, as merchants earn quite a lot in the city

But this time, Han Jiazhi also asked his men to gather information about the local office and if possible try to bribe them with money as they will need their help in ruling the city

After all, people living here are educated ones and educated people are the one who creates trouble for bad people

Everyone nodded

And so begins stuff

A week later-

The city of Xingyi, is now showing low crime rates but it seems that there are people collecting money in the name of taxes

Several reports were made to local officers by people living in the city, but nothing happened

"They all are corrupt people" A man said as he gets out of the government office, where he went to complain against a new group of bandits/gangs

And in the next one whole month, the whole city is now under '5 shadows' command

"This is the report sent by Zheng Zen" Han Yachun said as she brought a scroll to HaoJiazhi

HaoJiazhi is doing his everyday study right now

He nodded and took the scroll, he read all the information provided in it

Zheng Zen clearly wrote, how much money used in bribery, how many paid the tax, how much many have been collected in coins and in objects, and also how many resources and money spent on other things

The size of command has increased as HaoJiazhi now rules 2 districts, so Zheng Zhen asked to allow him to recruit new people

HaoJiazhi said ok, but

But he also gave few more commands

In his letter to Zheng Zhen, he told him to lower the money he gives to the people working for him and does some other stuff

Time passed by 5 months-

Inside the room of HaoJiazhi's mansion/house-

"These are the papers of those taverns you purchased yesterday" Han Yachun said as she handed him few papers, property papers of taverns and other business properties

"Thank you" HaoJiazhi said with a smile and put the paper somewhere

Besides his study table is a big wooden box, last time she opened the box she saw a huge amount of money, around 500,000 ban liang, but now it is no longer full

Why?

Because Hao Jiazhi used all those money in buying tavern and supporting his little organization

Did it profit?

Yes.

Current earning- 4,050,000 Ban Liang

In the city, merchants earn quite a lot and there were more than 1000 merchants who earned more than 10K ban liang per week

Thus he collected 1000 ban liang per week from each merchant (there are 4 weeks in a month), which is around 4,000,000 ban liang per month and the rest of the 50,000 ban liang is collected by simple job people in both districts

Also, right now there are 70 people working in "5 Shadows"

Each person working under them is being paid 100 ban liang for personal use as food and place to live is provided by the leaders, including equipment's also

Thus, there was no need to pay extra to these people

As for heads, they are paid 500 ban liang per month to each person

So the total amount of spending is around 10,000 ban liang per month

But Hao Jiazhi told Zheng Zhen to keep 50,000 ban liang among them (5 shadows) each month for the future development of the organization and for the worst-case scenario

(His 5 shadows are no longer the same as many people now have their own battle equipment and other stuff)

The rest goes to Hao Jiazhi's account

And so far, Hao Jiazhi has collected '20,000,000 Ban Liang' but it was all used just yesterday to buy 10 taverns (it was really expensive) and other business property like restaurants, bars, casino's and other things like clothes, fruits and etc shops

All money was used up in the blink

This may sound and look stupid as Hao Jiazhi must know the market first and then buy properties at the best price possible that could profit him

But you know him right?

It's not his first time doing business, he knows what he is doing and he knows what and when a property should be purchased

"Let's stay low for a while" HaoJiazhi said as he writes a letter to Zheng Zhen

It's been a month since Hao Jiazhi had sent his letter to Zheng Zhen and there is some stuff that has changed more than HaoJiazhi had asked for

At first, it was only 70 people working in '5 Shadows' but the need for men increased more and more as they had to control 2 districts and these 2 districts are not small

So, the structure of the team is like this now-

Mao Xue, Fighter team's head, now has 60 people under him. 20 in each district and rest on standby

Xu Hai, head of the Assassination team, now has 15 females under her. 5 in each district and rest on standby

Fu Yu, head of the poison team, now has 10 people under him. 3 in each district and rest on standby

Meng Bai, head of the blacksmith team, now has 15 people under him. 3 in each district and the rest on standby

Zheng Zhen, head of the administration team, now has 20 people under him. 4 in each district and the rest on standby

There are now a total of 120 people working in '5 shadows' and all of them are well trained

Each had their own role that they have to full fill it no matter what

The fighter team's role is to keep things ongoing with no hiccups and be ready to fight. All people in this team have their own sword/crossbow and small armors on them

The assassination team's role is to assassinate those who can be a pain in the ass in the future, whom the fighter team can't kill

The poison team's role is to create a new poison or find the cure of the current list of poison that has no cure so far. Their role is to keep the health of the whole organization all well

The blacksmith team role is creating new weapons or any other item for the team. This team may seem that they don't have much use as weapons can be bought from the market, which is true, but they are the core people

They create custom weapons for each person's needs and also armors for them. Not only that, but they also make armor for horses, and right now they are working on creating carrots and more stuff

Each weapon that is held by every single person in the organization is custom made according to the users need and skill

And finally, the Administration team

Their job is to make sure everything is reported to Hao Jiazhi and also keep things ongoing in the organization with no troubles

This may sound no big deal, but the flow of money is checked by them and the money amount is not small. It's in millions

And if any single thing happened to the money, they know very well just how bad their future will get.

Now let's talk about the profit-

Around 4 million ban liang is being deposited to Hao Jiazhi's mansion, every month, and the rest of the money is kept in the base of 5 shadows for future needs

And the money that Hao Jiazhi earns from his own business is more than 500,000 per months (without paying tax, tax is around 20%)

So, the total earning he has is around 4,500,000 Ban Liang per month. Which is no doubt just too much, but…

But we are talking about Hao Jiazhi here, his desire for money is more and more

Present time-

More than 4million ban liang moves in the 5 shadows base, so for sure there are people who will eye on it

And now its question-answer time, which is bigger, Greed or Fear of death?

There were a total of 5 people who tried to take the money out of the treasury of 5 shadows or more particularly the money that was going to be delivered this month (7th month) to Hao Jiazhi

Thanks to Xu Hai's team, a girl saw this and informed her, and things didn't go bad

Right now, those 5 men are being tied in the small wooden house as they are being interrogated by Mao Xue

"Are there any other people with you?" Mao Xue asked those 5 men who are breathing heavily after being beaten for hours

"no…" They replied in a low tone

Mao Xue doesn't know what to say or do here, these 5 men will die for sure but what about the future? Will more people commit this scene again?

He has various questions in his head, but suddenly a small voice of an eagle was heard around the base of 5 shadows

The eagle landed on Zheng Zhen's shoulder

Zheng Zhen took the letter out of the eagle's leg and read it

"Our lord is coming" Zheng Zhen said to them

Hearing this news, Mao Xue, Fu Yu, and Meng Bai took a deep breath and sweat appeared on their forehead as they remembered a certain day

Their uneasiness was well noticed by Xu Hai and Zheng Zhen but they didn't understand it as they haven't witnessed anything harsh or gore yet

Next day-

"You have created the base quite well" Hao Jiazhi said to Zheng Zhen, praising him for creating a small village like area in the forest of Jinyi District which is away from population and near the mountains

Zheng Zhen bowed and said "thank you"

Soon, other people and men's also appeared. Everyone bowed to him and witnessed just who the real head or person is behind their organization

They still don't know that Hao Jiazhi is a prince

Hao Jiazhi nodded to them and asked for people who tried to take his money away

Xu Hai led him to a certain small wooden house

Inside the room-

"So it's you people…." Hao Jiazhi said with a smile as he looked at those 5 men

Inside the room, there was not much space so only a few entered the room

Hao Jiazhi asked, "So, was it worth it?"

But no men answered his question

This made Hao Jiazhi quite angry as he doesn't like it when people don't respond to him when he is being humble

He turned around and whispered something into the ears of Meng Bai, blacksmith

Something that made the eyes of Meng Bai goes all wide

Meng Bai didn't want to follow what he was told but he has to do it. He goes out and then brought something back

In the meantime, Hao Jiazhi asked to put a table in front of one of the 5 men and also untie his one hand

This whole process made all 5 men woke up a bit, but it should have been better if they had been sleeping

Hao Jiazhi took a hammer and a long screw from Meng Bai and then told 2 men to hold the hand of that person (whose hand is untied)

Hao Jiazhi spread the palm of that person on the table and then put the sharp nib of the screw above the center of that man's palm

Hao Jiazhi aimed his hammer on the screw and with no expression; he said "When I ask you something, it means that you have to reply. That's a basic manner"

*BANG*

"AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"
