Kapitel 11: chapter 11

It's strange... All these years I resented the creatures that took everything from me. I feared them... They were truly things of nightmares, and were burned into my memories as nothing more than monsters. Even now I can't see the ones in my head as anything but...yet this one was different.

I didn't quite understand the creature yet...

I watched as it laid around outside the cave entrance, every once in a while, peaking one of its golden eyes open to look at me. I should be scared of this thing... I should run away and try to find my way home. But something was telling me to stay...to stay with the creature.

When my hand felt its heartbeat something stirred inside of me. My fears washed away and any resentment I held just disappeared. It was a living breathing creature just like I was...

Movement brought me out of my thoughts as it stood up on all fours and stretched, clearly enjoying the outdoors.

As I sat near the cave entrance, my stomach started to growl. I was hungry... And parched... I needed food and water soon... Looking up I could see the creature was busy inspecting the forest.

Maybe I could go to the creek and get some water...

Standing to my feet I walked to the edge of the cave. The wolf beast seemed to notice and turned to watch me. Taking a few steps out, I was quickly stopped as the beast jumped in front of me with a small growl, and its ears folded back. This is what I was afraid of... It thought I was trying to run again.

I could clearly see the look in its eyes was not one of anger like before. And its growl was not as menacing. It just didn't want me to leave.

My stomach continued to churn and I placed my hand over it in hopes to calm myself.

"You can't keep me here forever... I need food and water... I haven't eaten for nearly three days... And I haven't had water for a whole day..." Reaching out I pet the wolfbeasts head, calming it down, and its growling completely stopped. I didn't expect it to understand my words completely...i mean it's still an animal...

trying again, I stepped around the beast, to go to the creek. But as soon as my hand left its head, it blocked my path again. This time it only stared at me. No growling or showing of teeth.

I sighed, looking at the beast pleadingly if I didn't get substance soon I will get sick...and the last thing I wanted was to starve to death... I could already feel it affecting me. My body felt sluggish, and besides the constant hunger eating away at my stomach, I barely had any energy to spare. Not to mention the throbbing pain in my leg that added onto my problems.

"Please...just let me go to the creek... It's not far...you can take me there...you'll be able to make sure I don't run..." My hands moved to the creature's head and I rubbed its ears.

in response, it closed its eyes enjoying the affection. It's funny how such a beast could act this way. After a moment I tried again to move away from the beast. Once it was behind me, I could hear the subtle whine as it stayed behind me like a lost puppy.

My pace was painfully slow, due to the limp in my step, as I tried to avoid any protrusions on the ground. But soon enough we arrived at the creek and I smiled, relieved. Walking over to the edge of the water, I kneeled down and took a drink. The cool water, sateing my dry throat.

The wolf beast watched me for a moment before also taking a drink, lapping up the water just like a dog. I smiled before sitting back and staring at the water. In the deeper parts of the creek, I could see shadows swimming around. And my stomach growled as my mind recognized the movement as fish. My hand went to my stomach as if to help calm it.

The beast watched me closely and seemed to notice my reaction to the fish. Within seconds it was jumping into the water, and I squealed a bit, as I was hit by the splash of water. I watched surprised as it then looked up at me with a fish in its mouth.

It walked over to me and dropped the fish into my lap. I cringed at the slimy fish and looked up at the beast was it catching food for me?. Its eyes were bright and full of excitement. I gave it an awkward smile and pat its head. In response, it let out a low growl of satisfaction before turning around and going after another fish.

Removing the fish from my lap, I set it down on the rocky banks, then looked at the forest. If I want to eat then im going to need a fire...

Standing up I went over to the tree-line, collecting bits of wood and sticks. Once I had enough, I made a pile and grabbed two stones that I had found while gathering materials. I hope this works...

Using some dry leaves as kindling I attempted to start a fire. Gramps had taught me a long time ago what to look for and what to use if I ever needed a fire. He showed me the way certain rocks were capable of creating sparks if used correctly, like flint.

I smiled as a spark finally lit up the kindling, then I carefully brought the fire to life. The wolf beast came over to me with another fish in his mouth and watched as I set up the campfire. Grabbing the fish I pierced it with a stick and set it to hang over the flames to cook.

The beast only watched for a moment before laying down and picking apart his own meal. Smiling I waited for the fish to cook, and enjoyed the warmth of the fire. Looking at my arms I realized just how dirty I was. My clothes looked as though they had been dragged through the mud, then dried up, my skin didn't look much better with the dry blood, and grime.

Sighing I stood up and walked over to the creek. I hesitated before stripping down to my undergarments. I started to wash myself off in the creek and did my best to get most of the grime off my skin. The deepest parts of the creek reached up to my knees, It wasn't very deep water but it was enough.

Once I finished washing myself off I grabbed my clothes and started to clean off the dry mud that was baked onto them. Lifting my shirt out of the water, it looked much better than it did before. There were still some minor stains and a few holes but it was better than nothing. As I made my way back over to the campfire, I noticed the beast was staring intently at me.

A strange feeling made itself known in my stomach and I couldn't help the small rush of heat to my cheeks as it looked at me. Shaking my head I set my clothes on a nearby branch to dry and sat by the fire.

I jumped a little when the beast came up behind me and pulled me against it. I looked up confused as it nuzzled me with the side of its head and relaxed. Was it trying to keep me warm?

Looking back at the fire I blushed even harder and tried to relax. What was wrong with me? Why was I blushing?! It's just an animal...so why am I so embarrassed by it...

I continued to watch the fire, and once the fish seemed to be completely cooked, I started to eat. I groaned in satisfaction at the mere taste of meat. In response, the beast made its own noise and I could feel the rumble in its chest, as my back was pressed against it.

Even after I was finished eating we stayed like that for a while. When the sun started to go down, I pulled away from the beast to get my clothes. A squeal left my lips when it quickly pulled me back into its arms with a growl, and my face reddened.

The creature was clearly drowsy. I hadn't even noticed it was falling asleep. As I squirmed to get free, it held on tighter and its growling got louder. "I need to get dressed! I can't be out here half-naked!"

A rumble came from the beast as it held me closer, nuzzling the side of my head. Why did it seem like it enjoyed that idea?

I stopped struggling when it decided to drag its long wet tongue across the side of my neck and up to my cheek. So much for washing off... Once it was satisfied it released me and I got to my feet, quickly limping over to grab my clothes.

The beast stood up and stretched its muscles. Before looking around. I slipped on my clothes and looked back at the beast to see it was looking at a mountain in the distance. Walking over to the dying fire, I stood next to him as he stared off into the distance. He seemed so intelligent for a wild animal...

He glanced back down at me and licked the side of my face which made me groan in response. "Stop! I just cleaned off!" I pushed his face away as he pulled back. I swear I could see amusement in his golden eyes. After a moment he started to nudge me towards the forest, in the direction of the cave. I rolled my eyes and started to walk back, with him close behind. And I knew one this was for sure.

This beast was definitely possessive...
