The great bear stopped abruptly, lowering its massive paw as the young priestess embraced its enormous neck. It growled for a few more times before gradually reducing its sounds to just breathing in pain.

Kasumi caressed the beast's head to calm it down even more. "There, there… I told you it's going to be okay. I know you're still suffering, but try to relax. It will be over soon…"

The girl's calming voice and soft touch eventually got the bear whimpering before it rested its head on her, bathing itself with her aura's soothing presence.

From outside the flames of the beacon, Natsuko panicked as her vision somehow blurred due to the afterglow left by the blinding lights in front of her, only to realize that it was something of benefit to her and her allies.

"Is it just me, or the fire is beginning to dim?" asked the young battlemage while blinking her eyes repetitively as she carried on with casting her magma spells. "I can't see properly because of the glare in my eyes…"
