"Here they come," I remarked with a grimace. 

"It's about time, I was getting tired of waiting," Muttered Mitchell, a dark look in his eyes. 

We were standing outside the Sanctuary, the nine of us that had been chosen for this battle. It's the 5th of September, 2135...tomorrow's my birthday. My...fortieth birthday. Fuck, I've gotten old. 

Once this is over, maybe I should just retire or something, I'm getting too old for this shit. Hope I didn't just set off a death flag for myself... 

"Alright guys, let's do this...we have to win at all costs, or it's over," Declared Kilella, as the ship landed ahead of us. 

It opened up as it landed and stairs began forming down towards us, as one of the aliens who had shown up three days appeared in the opening. 

"You are the nine champions representing your planet, yes? We shall begin right away," He greeted us, before the ship suddenly began to change shape.
