"Honey..." Devan said first when he entered the room. He immediately put his luggage down then approached Claire, gave her a short hug, and then turned to his son.

"Finally, my hero has come to his senses," said Devan while gently stroking Dave's head.

The boy just nodded with a weak smile.

"You're great, honey. You're strong, next time don't hurt again," said Devan, smiling back at the boy.

Dave nodded again.
