"So, he is like a friend to you?"
"A very close friend, in fact, he is like a brother to me, without his continuous encouragement, I don't know what would have become of me and my music career".
"Wow! Such a true friend, friends like that are rare to get".
"Yeah, true".
"My second to the last question for you, what does your creative process looks like? When writing and recording songs, what is the scenario like?"
"It is just full of coolness and vibe, whenever I am writing and recording songs, I make sure to concentrate so my songs would be outstanding. So that's just an example of how my creative process looks like".
"Cool, you are really full of talent".
"Thanks".
"Now, coming to the last and final question, have you ever regretted choosing music as a career?"
"No, though I have been downhearted and sad a lot of times on the slow progression of my music career. There were times when I had no single motivation to record and drop songs, but through all of these circumstances and stumbling blocks, I have no regret".
"Why? if I may ask".
"I chose music as a career 'cause I knew I had the talent and passion for it, I knew music was what I wanted. Though I came into the music industry with the hope of becoming popular soon, and my expectations failed. But I love music so much, so I don't regret choosing it as a career".
"Nice, that's the belief I am talking about here, not giving up and having many regrets. We are done with the questions and interview, it was nice having you here with us Mark". The adorable host stated as she forwarded her hand to Mark for a goodbye handshake.
"It was nice being here". Mark uttered receiving her handshake with a smile on his face.
She turned to the camera uttering her concluding words for the climaxing of Mark's interview and today's program of the 'music extra',
"You should have learned a lot about Mark and his music career if you had been paying rapt attention from the onset of the interview. For the upcoming artiste out there who are striving hard to attain fame and get their music known to more people, hope you have learned a lot from Mark. He is unhappy about the slow advancement of his music career, but he doesn't have a single regret and he isn't gonna give up on his music career, you should imitate him".
They both shook hands for the last time before Mark exited the interview room. On getting outside of the interview room and to the backstage of the compartment, he sighted some people which he knew he didn't behold when he first arrived at this building. They all shook hands with him with smiles on their faces, why they did that, he wasn't sure of. The other person he sighted was enough to spoil his mood.....it was his boss, Gary.
"What is he doing here? Jefferey is supposed to be the one here right now, I hope he isn't the person driving me home". Mark uttered to himself in his thought with that disgusted look on his face, his boss's presence wasn't pleasing to him at all.
What Mark didn't seem to understand was why his boss was present here at this moment. His music manager, Jefferey, was the person that drove him in his car all the way here for the interview....so where the hell is Jefferey, why was he seeing his boss in place of Jefferey? His boss sighted him and stood up from where he was sitting to meet him,
"How was the interview?" His boss questioned him.
"It was splendid, everything went smoothly". Mark uttered swiveling his head about to see if Jeffrey was anywhere near, "But where is Jeffrey?" Mark asked as he couldn't catch a glimpse of Jeffrey around.
"Something urgent came about, so he had to leave instantly....Fortunately, before he left, I was here already, so I'll d be the one to drive you home instead, isn't that a privilege?"
Mark was vexed by his boss's last sentence, 'isn't that a privilege'. Setting his eyes on his boss was enough to piss him off already, entering his car would make it worse, not to talk of his boss using it to gloat about...
'Argh, senseless'.
"No need for that, I can just board a cab that would drive me straight to my apartment". Mark stated.
"Are you rejecting my offer to take a ride in my car?" Gary asked him.
"Let's say I just don't feel like taking a ride in it".
"You would have to, this is the first time I am offering you a ride in my car, so you have no choice, at least, let it be the first".
At this moment, Mark had no choice but to concur to his boss's pretentious offer. If he vetoed the offer some more, it will seem like he was being proud, even if he wasn't. He entered the car as his boss sped off from the interview facility.
Mark's interview with the 'music extra' seemed to had gotten a certain amount of attention. Lots of upcoming artiste appeared to have been motivated by the interview, the interview gathered more positive reviews than the negative ones on YouTube. Speaking of fame, Mark had a certain amount of fame and respect around his boulevard, they respected him and recognized him as a talented artiste. But speaking of global fame, he was nowhere close to that yet. His interview with the 'music extra' seemed to had spread his popularity some more around his boulevard.
But Mark's mum was completely disgruntled and discontented with the interview. She watched the whole interview live on Tv from its onset to its climax on that very Thursday mid-afternoon, and she was totally disappointed by Mark's reply to the question being thrown at him by the host. She hated the fact that he revealed to everyone how unhappy he was about the slow movement of his music career, she was really disappointed.
All this while, she thought Rita had been able to convince Mark a little about his resolve not to quit music, but she was wrong. Rita sat on the couch as she watched her mum stroll about in dismay, her mum had invited her to the house for a discussion. Rita wasn't sure of what the discussion would be about, but she had a feeling it would be about Mark and his music career. After roving about in the parlor for some minutes, she sat down on one of the couches very close to where Rita was seated uttering her first word.
"Seems like you are very busy nowadays that you have no time to visit your mum anymore".
"Don't be offended Mum, my clients are becoming so demanding nowadays, so I am trying my very best to satisfy them all so I won't lose them. Most of them have a new taste for fashion and styling, so I must conform to their new taste of fashion, so I have been very busy nowadays". Rita stated explaining herself.
"Understandable, at least, you are successful at your fashion designing career, so I can give a listening ear to your explanation". Rita's Mum uttered.
"Thanks, Mum".
"Do you have a clue on why I invited you here?"
"Not really".
"Did you watch Mark's interview with the 'Music extra' that aired on various television channels on Thursday?"
"No".
Rita's Mum sighed a little, "It was so disappointing, he blurted out to everyone how sad he was about the sluggish progress of his music career. And still yet, he is still clinging foolishly to his unprogressive music career refusing my generous offer to start a lucrative business....what sort of person is he". She declared out with annoyance.
"Mum, let him be". Rita said gently.
Her Mum looked at her in a way that indicates that she didn't take that word lightly,
"What do you mean by 'let him be', weren't you able to persuade him to quit music and accept my generous offer?"
"I tried my very best Mum, but his love for music is so deep, I am sure he is never gonna quit it no matter the circumstance, and I support him Mum".
"What! you support him?" Her Mum asked in disbelief.
"Yes Mum, I support him, I realized that he would be more unhappy and downhearted if he quits music. Even though music-making isn't favoring him that much, he is still holding on to it, that's how much he loves music. Do you know how sad I'll d be if I were to quit fashion designing?"
