…
After Aaron talked for so long he wouldn't bother staying there anymore and explain himself. He was sure she could make it back as he left what was left of his Repel and her Repel in her bag. He just needed to be more careful as the repel didn't help ward off that Scorpi yesterday. He had his knife ready and a Pokeball in the other hand.
He trudged his way through the desert. He was thankful that there was currently no wind but after a while, he lost his sense of direction as the only thing around him was sand. He actually saw many different Pokémon as he was walking. He saw Catcnea, Maractus, Dwebble, and even a Scraggy.
This got him thinking about what type of Pokemon he would go after. Catcnea, Maractus, and Scraggy didn't live in groups and if he could find a young one he would definitely catch it. He realized that since he saw Skorpi yesterday maybe there are other pokemon like a Gible or Hippopotas in this desert. He hoped he could find one but he should have to be more careful about the Gible as they generally live in groups and is a pseudo legendary.
After some wandering, he became excited when he actually found a Numel of all Pokemon. But when he started to approach it a group of Sandile appeared from under the sand and tore the Pokémon into a gory mess. Aaron was stunned and helpless and disgusted at the same time.
His mind was preoccupied with Numel, as it might make a decent starter because Fire Pokémon were pretty rare in this city. Also if it was a female he could get milk from it and sell it as it was highly sought after for raising young Fire and Ground Pokémon. This way he could finance while improving its strength but sadly that was all for naught.
While he was thinking this a Sandile noticed him and started to alert the group. Suddenly a Krokorok appeared. It then roared bringing Aaron out of his thoughts and he now realized the situation he was in.
"KROOOOOKKKKK"
He immediately ran for it. All of the sand Pokémon dove into the sand and pursued him as a large group creating many lines in the sand and sped his direction.
Aaron cursed "Shi* this luck. Why can't I catch a break? Thanks a lot, Loki!"
Aaron kept running and when a Pokémon jumped to bite him but he instinctively slashed at it with his hunting knife. It only slightly hurt them so it did not hinder them much but it started to get Aaron's clothes bloody. He finally seemed to find an escape as he was running in the sand he saw many different Sand dunes creating a series of hills that spread as far as he could see. He faintly remembered the map of the territory and gritted his teeth and headed in.
Seeing no chance of escaping he took a leap of faith after running by a couple of dunes. He jumped into one of the largest trying to evade the sight and smell of his pursuers.
Lan buried himself in the sand and stayed motionless. After a while, he didn't feel or hear any movement around him but he waited. And it was a good thing because he heard a loud Roar "KROOOOOOKOOOOOODILLLLLLLLE".
Lan was scared stiff. He tried to slowly bury himself even more but then he felt his body sinking into the sand and he tried desperately to get out gasping for breath. But it was no use he was sucked deeper into the Sand.
His vision went in and out and Aaron could not see anything and could not breathe. The pulling force slowly lessened and he felt his feet able to swing free. He quickly wiggled with the remaining strength and fell through the hole crashing into the solid floor below.
Everything went dark.
…
When he got up he immediately scanned his surroundings but it was pitch dark.
He knelt on the ground and felt the surroundings with his hands. The floor beneath felt like very hard stone and the sand seemed to be piled all around him. But when he felt an empty space that was flat he turned excited but his excitement diminished when he realized that he just felt a corner.
"Wait could it be? Is it some ruins?"
He preceded to move slowly along the wall for what seemed like a very long time. The longer the hallway was the more reassured of his previous guess.
"So this is most likely some type of underground ruins and based on my knowledge of the games many rare Pokémon are usually here. But this also sucks because sometimes Ghost Pokémon are here as well. Ghosts are the most feared in this world because they can easily kill you without you knowing it." he said while shivering.
Aaron kept low to the ground as possible and leaned against the walls as he crawled around and after what seemed a long time, he came to an open hallway that had some light there. There were some torches on some of the walls that burned with a mysterious flame. Dammit I knew I couldn't get that lucky. There are really ghosts here." He squinted his eyes to get a better look at the hovering lights throughout the hallway. He then looked at his watch

"Where there are Yamasks, there are treasures and Confagrigus. I need to get away from here as soon as possible. If I escape I might be able to find this place again and explore it."
Aaron kept his distance and used the red glow of the ghost to help navigate through some of the tunnels. He started to encounter more and more of them. He then saw that they were all converging to the same room.
'Nope. Nope, not doing it. I am not an Ash or Alice"
After the little encounter, he sat down and rested. He looked at his clothes and buried the ones that had too much blood. He then rested and saw that the only thing intact was surprisingly his bag and shorts.
When he got up from resting he saw a group of red lights at the end of the tunnel after which he directly turned and bolted down the nearest tunnel.
After some time the route to which he escaped that started to widen up and after what seemed like hours Aaron came upon a large cavern. The cavern had large stone walls with many gaps where there should have been stone bricks. While the ceiling had shining minerals the walls to lighten the place up. There was a small clear pond at one of the sides.
Aaron vigilantly looked around and crept towards it. He pulled out his empty canteen that was in his backpack and quickly filled it up. He then proceeded to take the two others that he had acquired and filled them up and storing them in his bag. After slowly exploring the open cavern he found a small dug-out space near the top. Surprisingly there were no Zubats or Bat Pokémon at the top of the large cavern.
Aaron then slowly climbed up the wall and laid his bag in the back of the small space and then he laid in a fetal position just out of sight from the ground. He then started to fiddle with his watch and tried to figure some things out. He then found the information that he was looking for. How the watch evaluated the potential of the Pokémon. He remembered Alice's Riolu was deep Blue potential while the Skourpi that poisoned him was yellow potential and mutated. The trainer named Gwen her bedew had dark yellow potential while her Duckett had dark orange potential. He looked at the information in front of him.
Potential = SUM OF IV's
Red = 0-70
Orange = 71 - 90
Yellow = 91-120
Green =121 - 150
Blue = 151 - 173

"So this is how things are. Now that I know this I can corollate some of my previous knowledge to adapt to this world. If I am right most wild Pokémon have red and orange potential while yellow and green are rare and the rest are highly treasured. I am relieved that I know this now so that I will be able to possibly improve my first Pokemon's potential." Sigh "That is if I ever get out of here."
Aaron soon nodded off into a light sleep do to the whole exhausting series of unfortunate events.
…
Aaron was soon woke up by a large amount of noise from the cavern below. He then peeked his head out and was struck numb from what he saw. He saw an at least 6 ft tall Krookodile surrounded by about 15 Krookoroc and around 90 Sandile. They where taking turns drinking from the water.
Aaron cursed in his mind
'F*** Is this really their watering hole? Just great.
Wait a sec,
maybe I can catch a Sandile as my starter and get out of here. They obviously know their way down here.'
Aaron's interest was stirred just watched the group and tried to analyze all of them with his watch. He found out the most common potential color was yellow while the Krookodile had light blue potential and was surprised that it was at the initial of the Elite tier. He saw one Sandile that was shiny and had purple potential. 'That's crazy if I can capture him and escape From here he would be a beast.'
When Aaron was watching that shiny Sandile from afar he saw the sand underneath it move ever so slightly. Since it was on the edge of the group that had already taken a drink it had moved into the shadows of the wall. Suddenly the sand just opened up and before it could make any noise it was dragged underground. Aaron only briefly was some orange jaws snap the Sandile. He sighed "Somone just ate my treasure." Aaron then munched on some rations and drank some water deciding to wait out his stay here because he might need to make a fast escape.
Shortly after the shiny disappeared there was a little movement from all around the borders of the watering hole. Now the Sand Crocodiles found out something was up. Numerous Trapinch appeared from wholes around the edges of the cavern followed by some Vibravas and a Large Flygon that exuded a pressure greater than the Krookodile.
Aaron Gulped and sweated nervously. He wasn't fearless and charge in recklessly like others. He will openly say his fears even if others look down on him because of that. At this time Aaron was just hoping he could return safely. He didn't want a Pokémon right now what he needed was rest and an opportunity to recover. He had felt like his body was slowing down gradually ever since being poisoned. He had yet to fully recover to his normal self.
The battle started and both sides seem to be pretty even. Both Flygon and Krookodile were restricted by the environment but were battling it out intensely. What was weird was every Pokémon seemed to agree not to battle near the watering hole. Aaron just watched the mass carnage with his eyes and eventually grew numb to it.
Aaron had been apart of some brutality in his past but nothing like this. It was a bloody massacre. He still analyzed all the Pokémon and determined that many of them had low potential and it was rare to find a Pokémon with green or higher potential. The highest he saw was the Flygon with dark Blue Potential which was even higher than Alice's Riolu.
Suddenly Aaron felt the sand and rocks shift around him and an orange mouth came out of the rocks. It was a medium-sized Trapinch. It looked around curiously and then preceded to sniff the air seemingly looking for something. He sweated a bit and pulled out some of his food and berries. Once it found the source of the smell it looked at Aaron curiously then at the food then at Aaron again.
Aaron who was still in the fetal position slightly maneuvered so he could push the food towards it. Its beady eyes lit up and devoured the food. When it was done, it cocked its head at Aaron as if it was saying "Is there no more?". Aaron sighed he needed to keep his rations but this may be his ticket out of this mess.
Aaron slowly talked to it and asked " Do you want some more?" The Pokémon nodded its head in understanding and clacked its jaws seemingly wanting more food. Aaron slowly thought of a plan. "I will give you more food if you find me a way to above ground." Aaron slowly stated and gestured towards the upwards direction. The Trapinch thought for a moment then turned around and went back the way it came.
Aaron "So is that a no or a yes?" 'I hope I didn't scare it.' Minutes later the Trapinch slowly reappeared dragging something. It was the tail of a Sandile. It seemed like it knew that he wanted to trade with it.
Aaron shook his head and pointed upwards and did many hand motions to which Trapinch nodded and just ate the tail. It then nodded and started to dig out the cavern in an upwards direction. This was happening while the battle below was coming to the end as both sides had severe losses. Aaron needed to escape quickly before any other Pokémon noticed him.
The Trapinch dug a small tunnel quite quickly and eventually broke through a stone in order to arrive at another hallway but this one had some light peeking through. He did not know how long he had been stuck in the ruins but he knew that he missed being above ground. He then pulled the last of his berries out and gave them to Trapinch. It quickly ate and happily nuzzled his leg. Aaron smiled "Want to come with me? I will get you a lot stronger and give you a lot of good food."
On the word food, Trapinch nodded excitedly. Aaron then nodded and asked, "Can you dig the rest of the way then?" It then hurriedly dug to the surface. When both of them arrived Aaron was greeted with an intense ray of sunshine. Aaron smiled and made Sand Angels He was so happy to be out of there. He then looked at Trapinch who was following him and it mimicked him by rolling in the sand.
Aaron laughed "Alright, Alright enough we have to find our way home. He looked around and could see a few mountains in the distance. He sighed " It is going to take a long time to get home. At least I have company now as he looked at the little insect beside him.
The two of them took off in the direction that Aaron felt was the way back to the city.
Little did they know that a pair of furious eyes popped out of the sand near them and decided to follow them also.
