Kapitel 89: Schaffe and Diablo
They would hear a noise coming from their power armor telling them that their power armor fusion cores are low.
"Damn, low power," said Phil.
"You guys need to go then. He is still alive," said Schaffe.
"What? We blast his fucking head off," said Phil.
"Trust me," said Schaffe. "Just get out of here before you guys become statues in those things." Phil, Jess, and Punk leave before their power armor shuts off on them. Schaffe looks towards the stone corpse as he comes out in a new form which is a hybrid of a human and deathclaw which seems different than his hybrid form. He looked to be in a humanoid-like body with his skin looking all scaley body his legs looked like blades and was able to stand on the tips. He had a large right arm with a large claw and on his left claw hand. He had no face only his eyes with two horns and his back hair with a devil's tail.
"I have passed both humanity and deathclaw," said Diablo.
"I think you're just trying to copy me. Then again, I am the better version," said Schaffe. He starts to morph into his hybrid form to combat Diablo. He goes in for a slash with his sword which Diablo blocks with his large claw but Schaffe slams his right fist into Diablo's stomach. But he finds Diablo grabs him with his tail and starts to strangle Schaffe until he bites down on his tail. Schaffe then attempts to slash Diablo but Diablo grabs his right arm and dislocates by throwing hard to the ground.
"You see this is the pinnacle of evolution. What we are destined to do," said Diablo. Schaffe gets up with his sword he can only lift it with his left arm.
"You used your power to harm those who called you friends," said Schaffe. He morphs back into his human form this confused Diablo. Due to his transformations, Schaffe was only wearing his shredded-up pants.
"You chose to die it seems," said Diablo.
"No, I just chose to show you what it means to be human," said Schaffe. He gets ready as Diablo lunges at him readying to deliver the last strike. But Schaffe turns around which confuses Diablo but it ends up being the moment Schaffe needs to finish him as he comes around with a spin slash horizontally cutting Diablo in half from the torso up. He lands on the ground unable to move. Schaffe stands there and looks down at him as begins to morph back into his human form and bleeds to death.
"Are you satisfied?" asked Diablo.
"No the only thing I feel is pity for you in the end," said Schaffe.
"Pity?" questioned Diablo.
"That you chose to die alone," said Schaffe. "I could never think of that until now."
"It's like you said we are not the same. Schaffe Deathclaw has been dead for years and only I remained," said Diablo. "We chose different paths." Schaffe looks down and sees Diablo has passed away after saying that and does not regret his actions. Schaffe turns around and walks away.
"I will never be like then," said Schaffe.
