Kapitel 50: Lost
Schaffe was walking and saw it was starting to get dark out as another day had passed and he needed to find another place to rest for the evening. He finds himself in an old fast-food restaurant and hiding in the bathroom sitting on the floor. He was trying to stay awake since he had that nightmare of the past yesterday. But the more he delves into it he starts to remember what happened even more and the more afraid he becomes of himself. Schaffe is starting to believe he is a monster who should be put down for what he has done. But the only thing he can think more about is getting him and his friends out of there. This is what has kept him going. But he would eventually fall asleep.
Schaffe finds himself in a place where he thought he never go back to. He knew this was a dream but he never knew it would bring him back here to the vault where he killed Phil. He walks through its halls till he makes it to the room. He would be shocked to see Phil's lifeless body lying on the ground.
"I must be losing my mind," said Schaffe.
"You might only give me more control," said Diablo. He appears in the room leaning on the wall nearby.
"You think bringing up my worst memories would freak me out guess again," said Schaffe.
"But we did kill him," said Diablo.
"We did kill him but you forget he allowed us to and it could be us on the floor with him," said Schaffe.
"True, but remember what he did. He betrayed us and tried to leave us with the brotherhood," said Diablo.
"The Brotherhood. They are the reason we were given this eye," said Schaffe.
"They created us the monster we have become," said Diablo. "Would you like to take revenge?"
"No, I could never want revenge on The Brotherhood. I do not want to hurt Sara," said Schaffe.
"She lied to us," said Diablo.
"She helped us. When we were at our lowest. I felt so guilty after killing Phil. I got depressed and all I wanted was nothing but to kill myself," said Schaffe.
"Soon all this will be mine," said Diablo.
"I think I am starting to understand what going on," said Schaffe.
Schaffe wakes back up in the fast-food restaurant from a loud noise. Schaffe gets up and gets ready with his rifle and goes to investigate what it is.
He looks out and sees a bunch of bandits looking through the place for him. Schaffe manages to sneak out of the restaurant before they notice he left. He sees he starting to get closer to the source of the forcefield and probably where Phantom was waiting to take his revenge on Schaffe for what he has done in the past.
"Just hold out for a little longer guys," said Schaffe. "I am going to get us out of here." He starts to head in the direction.
