Kapitel 8: Mother Rhoyne's Revenge
It has been a few months that Leo and Ashara have arrived in Volantis, they have been moving non-stop ever since they left Dorne. After a few months of resting, Leo is ready to attend the invitation that was sent by the Triarch of Volantis.
Artacus has given him the report that he found relates to the sellsword company based on Volantis,
Crimson Company
The Crimson Company are a sellsword company based primarily around the lands of the Free Cities, most commonly so Volantis.
They specialise in dealing with river pirates and find frequent employment by Volantis, Qohor and Norvos to keep the Rhoyne clear of such threats. The Crimson Company is believed to have been formed as an offshoot of the Bright Banners, due to both bands' affinity for decorating themselves with red.
Strength around 300 mounted soldiers and most members wear crimson cloaks or sashes to identify themselves as part of the Crimson Company.

Sunbreakers
Sunbreaker flies vivid red banners with gold trim, which often leads to confusion between the Sunbreakers and the Bright Banners. They operate out of Volantis, but also frequent the vassal states of Volon Theys, Valysar and Selhorys for work regularly. Just like the crimson company, they are 950 horse-mounted experienced soldiers.
"your grace, these two sellsword companies are quite trustworthy if you wish to hire them". Artacus trying to advise him.
"yes but not now, I have three hundred spartan and I want you to make it to 500 and also recruits another 500 women,"
"As you wish my lord...however, my lord...", he wanted to ask something but Leo noticed his action and said.
"Yes, spit it out Artacus", Leo said cautiously.
"What happens when female recruits wanted to join the spartan and the male wanted to join the amazon unit?", He asked seriously.

"What happens when..", Artacus was about to repeat what he said but it was interrupted by Leo.

As the name suggests, they are based predominately around the river Rhoyne and the ruins of Ny Sar, and as a result, most commonly take up contracts with the cities of Norvos, Qohor and Volantis, although have been known to seek business further away when contracts are not forthcoming in their typical area of operations"
"How many men do they have?", as Leo reading the repost about this sellsword.
"They're one thousand men strong", Artacus replied with confidence.
"I see, keep an Eyes on them. I might need them in the future", seeing the confidence, Leo thought they must be good to impress his Spartan commander.
"The date of invitation is fast approaching my Lord, the banquet will be held", trying to remind him of the invitation to the Triarch Palace.

The Triarch belong to one of two political parties: the tigers and the elephants. The elephants are the party of the merchants and moneylenders, while the tigers are old aristocracy and warriors, advocating trade and conquest respectively. After the rise of the Elephants at the end of the Century of Blood, at no time did the Tigers hold more than one seat of the Triarchy.
Selaera Paenymion, the first female Triach in almost a hundred years, She beautiful lady due to her Valyrian blood, but she also ruthless and her skill heavily involved in Espionage, Sabotage, Tradecraft. Leonidas can feed her a potion of loyalties and connect his magic with her and get her absolute loyalties, but Ashara convinces him to exploits her weakness instead.
Like any other beautiful woman, she wanted a family of her own. The report state that she is infertile and was trying with her husband, once the doctor deems her infertile. She and her husband focus on political until her husband dies and she kept raising through the rank of the tiger political party and become one of the Triarch of Volantis.
Malyrio Staegone the oldest of the Triarch of Volantis, just like Selaera he is one of the Tiger political, although in his fifties, maintains a trim and athletic form, and is most commonly seen wearing gauntlets of Valyrian steel, his proudest possessions. He is a staunch believer of the Gods of Old Valyria, convincing him would be difficult as they are one of the strongest families within the Old Blood of Volantis.
Jaqar Maegyr from the Elephant party he thirty-five years old, he one of the Triarch and Head of Trading Company and owns a fleet of nearly fifty trading cogs that set sail for ports across the Known World, including King's Landing and Oldtown, the Summer Isles, Braavos and Lorath, Qarth and Yi-Ti. He is relatively young, in the middle of his third decade, and popular amongst both the men and woman of the city.
There other minor nobles that Leonidas need to see, Vhassar family lives within the City of Selhorys and they own the fertile land along the river Selhoru. Qoheros control the city of Volon Therys on the west bank of the Rhoyne, It is surrounded by strong walls shaped from white stone and they also control many timber-yards that process goods sent down the Rhoyne by the Qohorik.
Galtigar family is another family that provide food to the Volantis, In the Golden Fields southwest of Dagger Lake, they utilise their leagues of fields to grow vast swathes of cereals like grain and barley, as well as fruits and olives. They own a small fleet of cogs with spring-green sails through which they trade with the other Free Cities.
Leonidas plan is to convince the Triarch of Volantis to let him rebuild the curse cities of Chroyane and if he can rebuild the old city and repopulate it, it should help the Volantene with pirates and Stonemans that has been populating the area.

The Triarch of Volantis has sent a White Elephant and tiger cloaks to escort them to The Palace of the Triarchs, Leo and Ashara are attending the invitation while Lucky is staying in the villa and Aslan has been carried by Ashra in his Cub form. With the escort of White elephants, Tiger cloaks and Artacus as their bodyguard.
As they march toward the emerging The Black Walls that was built by the Valyrians to protect their new western outpost, the Black Walls are an oval of fused Dragonstone, so wide that during the annual celebrations of the creation of the city, six chariots, each pulled by four horses, can ride abreast. They are nearly two hundred feet high, and only those of the Old Blood, or invited directly by them, may enter. Within is the part of the city called Old Volantis by its residents
They also march past The Temples of Old Valyria and The Temple of the Lord of Light which located on the eastern side of the city, but outside the Black Walls. As the march on the can see the colossal monolith of marble and fused Dragonstone, the Palace of the Triarchs is amongst the most impressive construction in a city of marvels. Guarded by the fearsome Tiger Cloaks, a slave army marked with green stripes across their cheeks, and helms shaped to show the visage of their namesake.
Because Leo wanted to rebuild the old city of Chroyane which is in control by the Triarch of Volantis, due to this matter Leo has invited to The Palace of the Triarchs to discuss it. Once they arrived they were escorted to where the Triarch of Volantis is waiting for them, they are welcome by Selaera Paenymion as she is the head and follow by Malyrio Staegone which control the army of Valontis and Jaqar Maegyr the one that controls the trade good that comes and goes through Volantis.
In the meeting, Leonidas proposes to rebuild the old city of Chroyane, this shocks the Nobles in the room as they know Chroyane is where most of the pirate and Stoneman are hiding. They don't have much information on Leo but they know that he is a rich Noble but doesn't know where he came from, Leo and Ashara have been wearing their mask, they did ask why and Leo told them is part of a tradition and they left it as is.
The Triarch of Volantis agreed, however, Leo wanted independence for his city. This means that his city will not be controlled by Volantis but a mutual neighbour as he will take control of the river from Selhorys to Dagger Lake, he will make sure this river will be free from pirates and Stoneman. By making sure this river is cleared and safe, trade from Norvos and Qohor would be much safer and trading with the rest of the Free Cities would be easier by using the river.
They agreed of course but they wanted Leo to buy the city, as they don't believe Leo will succeed due to the mist, grayscale, Stoneman and Pirates that made their hiding spots in the ruins city. They demanded that Leo have to pay 300,000 Honors golds and a contract that state he needs to rebuild the city in two years. If Leo fails, they will retake the city.
"So are we in an agreement then?" Leo asked in which they nodded happily thinking that they have won free money.
Artacus came with a contract that state that Leo has to provide 300,000 Honors golds to The Triarch of Volantis and to rebuild Chroyane in two years, if Leo fail then the city will be returned to Volantis rule. Artacus read this out loud and gave a copy to each Triarchs, they read it and sign it under the watch of the other Nobles.
Happy with the signed copy, two shadow guards appeared carrying a metal chest that contains 303,000 Honors golds.
"There should be 303,000 Honors golds in this chest, the extra 3,000 is for your generosity to hearing and agreeing to my proposal", Leo told them with a smile.
"Lord Leo and Lady Ashara, I hope you can rebuild the old cities."
"Thank you, Lord Jaqar. Once the city rebuilds I hope we can do business?", Leo asked with a smile and he nodded happily.
"Lady Selaera, I hope we will have a fruitful agreement"
"As do I lord Leo, if you manage to rebuild that cursed city then that mean the gold that you have given us is not wasted and Welcome to Volantis."
After the meeting, a banquet has been held for Leo and Ashara. Ashara trying hard to have fun but unable to because of the amount of slave around, other Nobels has been trying to make contact with the couple. But they prioritise the three families as he plans, Leo wanted these families to join him as they control the cities outside Volantis.
Rebuilding Chroyane would be easy for Leo, what Leo need peoples that will populate and defend the cities. What The Triarch of Volantis didn't know that, they will die if they breach the contract. They should read the fine print at the bottom that explains it, but it seems that they are blinded by the golds and trickery.

It has been a few weeks, Artacus has been ordered to recruits another 200 Spartans and currently awaiting for the 500 women from Lys to come. Leo has also ordered to buy around 10,000 unsullied from Astapor with the help of Jaqar, Leo also hired the Orphans of Ny Sar 1000 men, to cleared out the pirate but when Leo explain that he wanted to rebuild the old kingdom. They wish to serve him and his kingdom, Leo accepted of course and they will be conscripted to the new army called the Rhyonar Legionaries.

Kassandra Stavroglou is their leader and she will be the Rhyonar Legionaries with all the training and benefits that come with his magic, Leo has tasked them to clear out the Pirates and the Stoneman around his territory with their mounted horse.
Today is the day that he depart to Chroyane, Leo used his item creation skill to create the Queen Anne's Revenge but name it Mother Rhoyne's Revenge. He has given them all the information that they need to operates the ships, cannon was not installed but another long-range weapon has been installed to protect the ships this also applied that the ship is protected from the fires which a bane of any wooden ships.
-Mother Rhoyne's Revenge-
Mother Rhoyne's Revenge is bigger than any other ships around, is not a river ship as she is bigger and taller so the archers would have high ground to defend the ship. So they are ready to depart to Chroyane, there many Spartans with their full gears have been checking and preparing for their departure up the river past Volon Therys, Valysar and Selhorys to reach Chroyane.
There no civilian on the ship or slaves as he doesn't need as of yet, Leo will buy slaves so they can become a citizen. But right now he needs to secure the cursed place as no one will want to live in a cursed city, it was an enjoyable ride was watching the old ruins of od Sar Mell which used to be a pale city known for its flowers.
Now the city has been destroyed during the First Turtle War and now its city claim by nature, as they sail further up the rivers the atmosphere changes to be quite eerie, insect sound can be heard but is mostly silence from people on the ships.
-Ambience-
As they sail, Leo and Ashara have been with Aslan and Lucky on the deck of the ship looking around as they pass the old ruins and seeing a sign of battle between giants.
"Leo look", she pointed to the creature that has been swimming with their ships." what is that? there seem to be more of them", As their ships have been surrounded by a nest of turtle of different size.
"It seems that they are guiding the ship somewhere, Artacus tell them, men, to stay calm and wait for my order", Leo said to his commander as he knows that this turtle might be the children's of the old man of the river, one of Mother Rhoyne consort.
Suddenly the boat shook, telling his men to calm down Leo and everyone on the ships realise that the boat has been on the sailing of a giant turtle, speeding in a direction that seems to be concealed by hidden passage until we arrived to see Mother Rhoyne.

Volantis Noble:
Vhassar: Half of the Vhassar family lives with the city of Selhorys to the north, but the other half still reside within the Black Walls. Owners of the rich and fertile lands along the river Selhoru, the Vhassars preside an area of land nearly two-thirds the size of the Reach of Westeros, with similar levels of production capabilities.
After being harvested, the wide array of crops, fruit and livestock are sent downriver to Selhorys, Valysar and Volon Therys, as well as Volantis itself.

Qoheros: Members of the Qoheros family are invested heavily in the trade of spices and gold from the Far East and with it built a fleet of nearly thirty ships. They own three separate manses, one within the Black Walls, one in the city of Volon Therys near to the Founders' Tower and a final one in Valysar, where they also control many timber-yards that process goods sent down the Rhoyne by the Qohorik.
The traditional colours of the Qoheros family are royal purple and a deep brownish red, something that is reflected in all aspects of their dwellings, from the flowers in the gardens to the semi-precious stones that decorate the gates.

There also suppose to be three king guards guarding the tower of joy but in the series there only two, what happens to Lord Commander Gerold Hightower? he better be somewhere important lol.
What do you think Mother Rhyone look like? I have a few ideas but not sure. Mother Rhyone has two consort, a Giant crab and a giant turtle.
