Another year has passed since the Uchiha incident. Naruto, and Haruko will be starting the academy today. Naruto started getting more into his own taste, and personality. He quit mimicking Haruko's fashion sense, and instead wore an outfit similar but instead of red accents on his jacket, and pants it was orange. Haruko continues to be the edgelord he is wearing exclusively black, and red.
Moreover he had a long and lengthy talk with a seamstress, and may have created a new style consisting of dark black jeans, a plain white tee, and a black hoodie with a zipper. It made small waves within the fashion community, and he was asked to model for it. He lost most of his baby fat, and one day he would be quite handsome. For now he was a child, and preferred to be called cute by all the grandma's who he frequently stopped to help picking up after his "dads" habits.
In the past year Haruko made multiple stops by the Uchiha compound to check on Sasuke with Naruto, but they were almost always shooed away. The few times they were allowed to stick around they would spar, and Sasuke would ask questions about Itachi. Always about his weakness, and things like "What would be the best way to kill him?" Which was rough for the other two boys who had near hero worship for Itachi. All in all a very minimal amount of progress was made.
Danzo quit sending assassins after Haruko since the previous 15 attempts all failed, and word was never brought back to him as they all died.
Kakashi used the past two years to sharpen all his skills, and bring himself back to his prime, and slightly past it. Haruko had brought up the fact that his sharingan was a constant drain on his chakra, and a big part of why he would struggle to advance, or grow stronger. Kakashi already knew this, but asked why Haru brought it up. Haru went into a lengthy explanation about genetics, and DNA which naruto fell asleep in the middle of, and Haruko ended with saying that the problem could be alleviated with a little bit of tweaking.
Haruko's powers did not exactly allow him to re-write Kakashi's DNA but he could heal the severed connections that the Sharingan was using, and subsequently decrease the chakra leakage it was causing. His powers did allow him to introduce just a tiny bit of Uchiha DNA into Kakashi to also alleviate the issue, and almost fix the issue. How you may ask? He spent almost every last drop of his biomass trying to develop an ability to basically cure cancer. He couldn't because he's a dumbass, but he did accidentally create the ability to inject DNA strands from anybody he has previously absorbed. Now this ability has two issues. One he had to have biomass from what he was trying to inject, and second the ratio of consumed biomass to injected DNA was 50 to 1.
In essence he was able to make Kakashi 10% Uchiha. The side effects of the Sharingan were still there, just 10% of what they used to be. This meant more than a few things, but firstly the sharingan was no longer a hindrance in his development, and like the true prodigy he is. His results in training were amazing.
Lord Third had stayed radio silent about Danzo, and any actions that may be taken against him. The trio suspected that nothing would be done about Danzo, and soon they would need to take matters into their own hands.
Preparations for taking out Danzo had been underway, but progress was slow as Danzo was nearly untouchable without getting him secluded, so it was shelved for now as Kakashi wanted them to focus on school, and making friends. Naruto beamed with excitement, and Haruko slumped around as he knew it would be a massive waste of time. Plus the idea of beating up kids didn't really appeal to him. However given Naruto's confidence, and the fact that he didn't grow up emaciated, meant instead of being one of the smallest kids in class he was barely shorter than Haruko. A Miracle in and of itself as Haruko was a genetic freak.
It was early in the morning, and the three of them left the estate heading towards the center of the village where the academy was closer to. The library was their first step as they needed the necessary supplies for the school year.
Once at the academy Kakashi left swiftly after a brief talk with Iruka, who then walked over to our two heroes.
"Good morning Haruko, Naruto, are you excited for your first year of ninja studies?"
"Yes"No"
Their voices rang out at once, and Iruka looked befuddled at Haruko's response, and excited about Naruto's.
"Well come on inside, we've heard a bit about the two of you from Kakashi, and Lord Third, and we realize some of our classes are well behind where you are with your home studies, but you will have to suffer through with the rest of the kids, as friends are just as important as excelling as a ninja!"
'You mean you need time to mold our little brains into worshiping the village'
Haruko thought to himself while following behind the admittedly kind man. 'On second thought, has Kakashi replaced Iruka as the father figure in Naruto's brain? Oh well.'
Iruka led them through the halls, and various training areas on the grand tour, and Naruto practically had sparkles in his eyes. Haruko constantly rolled his eyes over his friends over excited nature. Having lost interest Haruko retreated into his own mind.
'Wait a second now that I think about it, Kakashi basically adopted the two of us. While it was forced on him it still happened. Which means that while on a technicality Naruto, and I are brothers. We even have technical blood ties as I have Uzamaki, and Namikaze DNA. Sweet, anyway I guess that does make Kakashi our dad, but it's much better to think of him as the older grumpy brother who's stuck with us, and secretly likes us. Or maybe begrudgingly likes us would be more accurate.'
The grand tour had ended with them at the classroom they would be in for the next year. Inside the usual cast sat around on various desks, and they all turned in our direction, there was a mixture of expressions. Most of the civilian kids looked at us with a mixture of shock, fear, and disdain. Ino, and Sakura were too busy oogiling over Sasuke to pay much attention to them, however Ino took a double take towards Haruko, and Sakura took a double take towards Naruto. 'Weird'. Sasuke glanced at us, and gave the tiniest of waves, which Naruto responded to with a wave, and Haruko nodded his head. Shikamaru looked bored, but a minor amount of interest twinkled in his eye. Choji was snacking and paying attention exclusively to his bag of chips, and Hinata had a deep set of blush while looking at Naruto, who waved happily back at her. Amazingly she stood her ground, and waved back.
'I expected her to faint from his mere presence. I wonder if our encounter from a few years ago helped her out with her issues.'
Lastly the often forgotten or overlooked Shino gave them a wave, which they both confusingly responded to despite not knowing him. Taking their seats near the middle they waited for the lessons to begin.
"Hello kids, my name is Iruka Sensei." He wrote his name on the board. "You guys will be under my care for the next four years. You will have other senseis however I'll be your main sensei."
Iruka wrote what equalled a syllabus on the board, and as it was the first year it was basic theory for chakra, basic mathematics, history, literature, and comprehension. An hour of recess, and then physical classes including taijutsu, shunrikenjutsu, and kunai training. Naruto upon seeing what they would be learning smirked as he already knew all of this, and would have a chance to stand out as a star. Haruko looked bored.
Another figure entered through the door. He wore a cap that had his forehead protector built into it over his platinum, medium length hair. He wore a kind smile on his face, and deceit in his eyes, though only Haruko picked up on that tidbit.
"Class this is Mizuki Sensei. He will be co teaching the physical side of our class, and assisting with other matters. Please welcome him"
"Hello" The class all gave some semblance of a greeting, and he waved in response. Haruko caught the sour look he threw at Naruto, before Mizuki had the chance to correct it.
'This fucking guy, I can't let him scar Naruto emotionally even if that is what allowed him to get closer to Iruka. This guy had Naruto fucked up for a hot minute over the ninetails.'
Haruko's eyes hardened in the direction of Mizuki, and the sudden burst of bloodlust shocked the teacher who met Haruko's eyes. Several thoughts blew through the poor idiot's head before he shrugged, and took his seat off to the side.
'I don't even need to hide my hostility towards him, there's no point as I could kill him now, and nobody would be any wiser. That's not really true people would definitely find out he's dead when he goes missing, but still. I'll just trick him into fucking up, and giving me an excuse to kill him, I won't even absorb him as he's much too filthy for me.

So I decided not to re write the chapter, but instead just finish it. The responses I got lastnight made me feel really good about myself, so I kept it as it was, and just finished it. Let me know what you think, and dont forget you can support me on Ko-fi which is like a donation, or tipping site. Theres no pressure to do it, but I wanted an open channel for those who wish to. you can find it by typing in this link. https://ko-fi.com/balthazarblake.
