Kapitel 59: Star singer (1)
Wu Jinyan was sipping on some orange juice while Mu Feng who sat next to her waved a hand fan for her. He was like Wu Jinyan's little servant that acted on her beck and call.
"You are amazing, sister in law. In just an hour, there are already millions of streams. I can't even imagine the number of views we will get after releasing the music video. What if you win Golden Bell award this year also? And there's that International music awards in LA. Please, sister in law. Send me as your representative" Gu Zihao couldn't hide his excitement as he scrolled on his tablet. As if he hit a jackpot, he couldn't stop smiling.
Looking at Gu Zihao's brightly lit face, Mu Feng rubbed his forehead in annoyance. He was worried there would soon be a backlash from the public with how Gu Zihao was continuously grinning in joy.
It's an unwritten rule in the industry to never be overjoyed for your small achievements or you would be smeared with bad luck and end up with a failed career.
It may sound superstitious but many artists including the legends believed in this theory.
Even many artist managers and agents believe in it so as to make their artists stay humble even when they achieved greater heights and to always remember their origins.
"Music Video? I've always used some randomly shot video as MV. Maybe I'll do the same this time also" Hearing Wu Jinyan's nonchalant answer, Gu Zihao was dejected.
"No way. I've already made a portfolio of both male and female artists for you to choose" Gu Zihao immediately pushed his tablet into Wu Jinyan's line of vision.
Not thinking much, Wu Jinyan put the juice glass in her hand down and picked up the tablet. There are more than dozen profiles and all the artists belong to Star Entertainment.
Wu Jinyan finally understood Gu Zihao's plans and shook her head, to outright reject him.
"No. I don't want to use people from our company or anyone from this country. It would give away my origin"
Saddened by Wu Jinyan's rejection, Gu Zihao walked away to be somewhere quite when Wu Jinyan's mobile placed on the table vibrated.
Mu Feng who was close to the mobile looked at the caller and frowned. He couldn't believe Wu Jinyan got in contact with this man.
Wu Jinyan too looked at the caller ID. She played with her nails instead of attending the call, clearly showing her lack of interest in talking with the person who called her.
The vibration ended and the phone screen displayed the notification.
'You have 65 missed calls from DAD'

"Dad, why would you even bother calling her again and again when she wasn't even picking up?" Wu Xian grumbled. It was extremely unsettling that his father was trying to contact Wu Jinyan without any shame after how she almost kicked him out of her house.
"So what if Wu Jinyan's husband is a billionaire and had lots of properties? He's still a young man who's eyes were blinded by her beauty. He would soon divorce her after he finally opened his eyes. Moreover, it's like he had his eyes on Li Xiaoyi now. Why should we even try to bootlick her? It's not like she owns all the properties of Gu family" Wang Qiang, Wu Xian's wife also voiced out her opinions. She couldn't believe Wu Hao was so adamant on making connections with Gu family using Wu Jinyan.
"Shut up, both of you. She's my daughter and it's my wish that I want to talk to her. Who are you to order me around?" Wu Hao snapped at his son and daughter in law.
Wu Meihua was also distressed watching her grandfather. She didn't want to be scolded by him and stayed silent.
It was actually her who showed the news articles and tabloids to Wu Hao. She expected he would appreciate her and gift her with valuables for giving him a good news. However, he immediately focused all his attention onto contacting Wu Jinyan without bothering about anyone in the house.
To her misery, not only was Wu Jinyan's husband handsome. He was also the business magnate who could shake the country if he intended.
'Shit! I'm married to a small scale industrialist while that wretched woman was married to a tycoon' Wu Meihua muttered internally, seething in anger.
Had she known Wu Jinyan was capable of finding such a big fish, she would've never screwed up her wedding with Mo Shen, three years ago. In that case, she could have gotten married to Gu Zichen.
As if malicious plots were embedded within her brain, she came up with an idea. Her face brightened immediately.
She walked upto her grandfather and muttered in soft voice "Grandpa, instead of calling Aunt Jinyan, you should contact Gu family directly. What would they think about you when you never once visited them as the in laws after aunt got married into their family?"
Wu Hao who was busy dialling Wu Jinyan stopped his actions and looked at his granddaughter. A smile appeared on his face.
"What you said was right. I should indeed contact my in-laws first. I'll immediately get someone to fetch the Gu family house's address" Saying that, Wu Hao called his assistant.
Having her plan worked out, Wu Meihua gave a wicked smile.
Once she entered the Gu family house, she would do everything she could to destroy Wu Jinyan's reputation.
She'd make sure that the people of Gu family would never let Wu Jinyan enter their house again after hearing about her past.
"Wu Jinyan, I'll see how long you'll live as Gu Zichen's wife" Muttering that, Wu Meihua smiled looking at her mother, Wang Qiang.
Wang Qiang understand her daughter was upto something with her suggesting the old man to meet with the Gu family.
She pulled her daughter away from the place to have a deep discussion on what she had planned to bring down Wu Jinyan.
