While Martell was the calmest among the three people, he too did not speak any further, considering the solemnity of the situation. Alastair pressed his forehead, fearing what Lady Odalis's reaction would be. The outcome she had feared had happened in reality, and her son, Calix would have been poisoned by now if Martell's words were true.

Just as Alastair had anticipated, the Odalis could not accept it and she broke down at once. Though she did not make any noise, both Alastair and Martell saw the tears in her eyes, making her look all the more pitiful. The atmosphere became gloomy immediately, and Alastair, for once, did not know how to console the strong woman.
