Kapitel 89: Granting wishes

All the maids gathered in the main hall in worry. Madam Lily's statement had made them apprehensive, and they now feared for lives, wondering if they had somehow irked the young King. One by one, all the maids and the servants assembled in the said place and watched the King observing them with his keen eyes. Her face gave away nothing as to what his countenance was, and everyone was now on alert, worrying about their well-being.

Alastair wandered his gaze across the hall as soon as all the servants assembled before they settled on Samantha, who had her eyes downcast. The meek behavior of hers made him uncomfortable, and he frowned slightly. He never liked to see her head bowed before him, for he had never treated her a servant. He preferred the girl to stare back at him as he watched her beautiful green orbs that had captured his heart and soul at first glance with glee.
