Kapitel 75: Convincing Lily

"Now, will you allow me to take Samantha with me, Lady?" Alastair queried, scrutinizing the old matron's face. He had not missed the way she had gone in shock when he had revealed Samantha's identity. However, she had calmed down at once as though she had expected something like this.

'What might have happened for the old matron to have caught wind about Samantha's identity? Did she reveal her powers? Or did the old matron knew about it for a long time?' He wondered, his eyes not moving away from her face.

While Alastair was trying to gauge Lily's reaction, the woman was in a dilemma of her own. She could still not believe that the girl she had seen grow up into a fine lady was not human. She was an angel. 'An angel?' Lily thought. 'Samantha is an angel.' His lips trembled. Yet, no sound came out of her.
