Kapitel 96: Misconception

"You can't be saying he triggered a heat, right? And a Beta? You can't be serious." 

Clement went silent. She too couldn't believe it herself. Triggering a Beta into heat, there had to be a limit for how far one could make a joke, except, something else crossed her mind. 

Another thing that was far worse than the joke they had just made. 

Her sapphire eyes bore into cerulean ones. She wanted to ask, to confirm, anything, but even the thought of it sounded like total nonsense, nonsensical. 

Mika gulped at her sharp eyes. She might be shorter than him, but hell, she was intimidating as fuck. Had he said something wrong for her to glare at him like this? Now that she was sending daggers to him, Mika couldn't help but choke out a "what?" at her. 

Her grip on his collar tightened as she bit her lips, hesitation was clear in her eyes as she opened her mouth like she wanted to say something, but then, she decided not to.
