"Are you the newest addition to our group? Nice to meet you, I'm, Jake, the leader of this operation."
Will got up from the tree stump he was sitting on and turned around. His dark gray hair was soaked from sitting in the rain and stuck to his skin and mask. His mouth that was barely visible from underneath the mask was thin and slightly curved downward, presenting a very unsociable air around him. With one look, anyone could tell that he was not in a good mood.
Although the noise of rain against his mask drowned out most of the sound around him, Will was still able to clearly pinpoint the location of the man who had called out to him. The man was wearing a rain coat, had a brown beard and a mustache, and seemed to be talkative. Further away from the man were a chain of wagons and carriages and a group of people who either were outside in the rain carrying boxes or inside a particularly large passenger wagon with a rain cover above their heads, laughing. Most of them possessed weapons.
"You are Phantom, right? I heard you got into an argument with the receptionist lady in the guild. Something about summoning lightning? Is that correct?"
Will slightly flickered his eyes from the man and towards the group of armed people behind him before looking away coldly. "What do you need me to do."
Jake let out a wry laugh. "Not one to waste words I see. Don't worry about it too much. All you have to do is unload and load supplies from the carriage when I tell you to."
"We had a couple slaves to help us with that but..." Jake sighed. "On our way to the town before this one, we encountered a goblin group and they slaves tried to use the chaos to escape. In the end, they were all killed by goblins and we were forced to file a request for extra hands."
"Why can't you ask the group of adventurers behind you to perform menial tasks?"
Jake sighed before giving the group of armed people behind him a exasperated look. "Well, those people are the adventurers I hired to protect the carriage. Although some of them are willing to help out with the unloading, the others are refusing to help by saying that its 'slave work'. And since I'm on a tight schedule, I decided to hire a few extra helping hands while we were restocking in this town."
"When do we leave?"
"H-ha ha, we will leave in a few minutes. In fact, if you could help us load the wagon right now it would be great. All the things that need to be loaded are on the floor-"
Without waiting a second more, Will walked past Jake and headed to the wagon where things were being unloaded and loaded off. Will grabbed the nearest box on the floor and picked it up. Although it was slightly heavy, he managed to carry it all the way to the wagon where he handed it to a rather disgruntled looking boy near the same age as himself. The boy let out a relieved groan when he saw that Will carrying the box into the carriage.
"By the goddess of the sea, you are drenched. Good thing I hesitated on whether or not to help out," the boy sent Will a look of sympathy. "You are the newly hired recruit right? Could you do me a favor and carry the rest of the boxes to me? I would go out and help as well but-" the boy sent a nasty look towards the sky. "-its a nasty downpour we have out there. I'd rather avoid getting wet. Since you are already wet, you've got nothing to lose. Just place them on the carriage and I'll sort the boxes out under the cover. Deal?"
Instead of replying, Will went back to grab a crate and carried back to the wagon and placed it on the wooden floor of the wagon before immediately going back to pick up another box. Will heard the boy shout out thanks to him but didn't bother to reply back.
After all the boxes and crates had been loaded, Jake yelled out "ALL RIGHT EVERYONE! BACK TO THE WAGONS! WE WILL LEAVE IN APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES! BETTER NOT MISS OUR DEPARTURE OR YOU ARE GOING TO BE LEFT BEHIND WHICH MEANS NO PAY!" and the boy who organized the boxes while under the cover of the wagon beckoned at Will to come join him under the rain proofed wagon.
Once Will was in the wagon, the boy extended out his hand and gave Will a friendly grin. "Hey man, I'm Roy. Nice to meet ya. I was recruited in the town before this one. But damn this rain started unexpectedly. One moment it was bright and in the next its pouring. Crazy right? Who are you again?"
"Phantom."
Roy let out a loud laugh.
"So you the new helper huh? Sorry for asking you to carry the boxes inside while it was raining. You look like you just got out of a lake. Whats your rank?"
"F."
"Oh? Did you just start in the adventurer business?" said Roy with wide eyes.
"Yes."
"Thats cool. What is your skill rank?"
"F."
"Your combat type?"
"Water spiritualist."
"Ooh, I heard that spiritualists are rare. Well, like I said I'm Roy. I'm a swordsman of F rank and E skill. I also only just became an adventurer about a week ago," said Roy as he took out his guild card and practically shoved it in Will face.

"Well, since we will be working together for a while. Please take care of me won't ya and I'll take care of you."
Instead of replying, Will glanced outside of the wagon and into the rain. Just as the wagon was about to move forward, a loud squelch came from the wheels as the horses tried to free the wagon from a particularly deep mud puddle with sheer strength alone. After a second or two, the wagon suddenly lurched forward as the wagon was pulled free and the chain of vehichles started to move once more. Will closed his eyes, listening to the rain and Roy who was talking about who knows what.
