Kapitel 59: A Companion and Secret Admirer

Perhaps, that building tension becomes too much since the others suddenly start to look at their direction - almost as if they feel the thick pressure in the air as Anastasia and Eclair continue to lock eye contact.

With Lucien stuck in the middle, they just keep exchanging heated looks without saying anything. The expressions on their faces are more than enough to make the message cross. They look on fire and all prepared to create a scene.

But then, a scene is something Anastasia wants the least here. People are already spectating at this point, so she can't possibly do anything more that might eventually ruin the atmosphere of the party. If she needs to sacrifice her pride for Lucien's sake, she will.

With that, she finally decided to let go of his hand and step away for a bit.
