Alexandro lost sight of his friend and called out for him but nothing happened.
He thought of descending the mountain but that would mean abandoning his friend for he could not continue climbing under this condition. He did not know the road ahead but he knew about the one behind for he had passed it so could retrace his steps much easier as he had attained some sort of familiarity with the terrain but that would mean leaving his friend for dead, this was a struggle morality wise but it was an easy choice for humans are inherently selfish.
He convinced himself that his friend was okay and even blamed him for moving ahead so fast, what if it was him in danger would he have circled back or gone out of his way to look for him?
Alexandro gave himself all the justification he would need to walk away and did just that.
He descended the steep mountain as the snow hit with less ferocity the lower he descended.
