The first thing Lisa did after getting inside the bus was sleep. She tried to stay awake but the disappointment in her heart was too much to take. At least when she was asleep, it would fade away.
Regret of the past and embarrassment in the present swirled around her and suffocated her to deep sleep.
By the time it was dawn, the bus had rolled into the beautiful city of Seoul. The streets were mostly empty and the cats were just waking up from sleep, stretching its body and walking off to find breakfast.
As the orange sun started spreading itself, shopkeepers started opening up the shutters and waiting for customers.
Slowly, Lisa stepped out from the market area and into the main roads now starting to fill up with cars and hoards of employees on the pathways, heading to the trains that would take them to their offices.
The place was crowded and she checked the train list. There was one train coming in two minutes to her destination! The next train was fifteen minutes later.
She dashed for the counter to refill her train card but the queue was huge. "Oh no...I won't make it there in time. I don't want to miss an interview with BigHit."
She stood in line and checked her phone screen. One minute more. The queue was too long and she tapped the train card on her forehead in defeat.
"Ah!" she screamed as a little boy ran past her, hitting her hand. The card flew out of her hands and fell on the floor sliding away from her.
She screamed and went under the queue border line and came out into the crowd to get her train card back. She walked forward with her hands out and tried to weave through the growing crowd, "Excuse me, please, my card."
But no one noticed her and their feet shuffled in the morning rush hour, kicking her card here and there and it wasn't long before the card disappeared from her sight. She stood up straight, her arms limp by her side in defeat.
"Bye bye BigHit..." she mumbled before making her way to the platform and sat on one of the empty chairs, her hair falling over her face.
She looked up at the ceiling, 'I could have just gone with those boys...why did I have to be so arrogant and poor at the same time?' she thought to herself, pinching her skin. Her mother used to do that to her whenever she did something naughty. But her mother wasn't here now.
Lisa looked around in fear, 'I hope the police is not here...' She stood up and walked out of the station and spotted a small shop outside. Shielding herself from the morning sun, she walked inside and chose the cheapest mask in the store.
"Just this mask," she told the shopkeeper and handed some coins to the man. He nodded and billed before handing it to the girl.
Lisa walked out of the shop, pulling the light pink mask over her face and tying up her hair up high so that she won't be recognizable at first sight.
"Ha..." she looked up at the sky, "It's a beautiful day, but what do I do?" She looked at the thin pitiful wad of cash in her hand. Bringing it close to her nose, she smelled it and closed her eyes, "It still smells like him..." she told herself.
She narrowed her eyes and took one note and put it under the sun. her eyes widened in surprise as she saw what was written on the note.
"Oh my God..."
It was V's signature on the currency. How had she not noticed before? "V...you knew I would need more money. How can I ever thank you, you brilliant boy?"
Lisa laughed at the sight in front of her eyes and shook the note in the air in joy. She walked over to find a nice spot where many people passed by and clearing her throat, she screamed the words out to all of the passerby, waving the cash in the air, "1000 won note signed by BTS V! Selling for 50,000 won! Get it first!"
A few people looked at her in surprise and walked away disbelievingly, but Lisa kept on trying, showing the note in the air and she saw a few girls coming towards her.
A teenager asked if she could have a look and Lisa only showed it to her, not letting her take it. The girl took out her phone and searched up V's signature on Google and tried to match it. When she saw that the currency in front of her was the real thing she screamed in happiness.
She looked at Lisa with teary eyes, "I'll buy it!"
"Wait," another girl came up behind Lisa. "I'll take it for 100,000 won."
