That night, Lin Feng went to bed with his body extremely sore. His eight-year-old body's muscles had been pushed to their limit as a result of the training for the day, with him only able to return to his room with sheer willpower.
On the plus side, his [Will] skill had progressed quite a bit more as a result of this. It hadn't reached the next level yet, but it was steadily getting there.
As Lin Feng dropped his body onto the bed, he was unable to sleep. Despite how tired he felt, the sheer soreness his body was feeling was keeping him awake.
Gritting his teeth, Lin Feng tried to circulate spiritual energy to soothe the soreness at this time. It didn't do much, but it did work.
Soon, Lin Feng's body wasn't sore enough to bother him as much anymore. His eyes closed as he went into dreamland.
He had class tomorrow, and he had already wasted enough time tonight.

The next day, Lin Feng woke up early. He did his morning rituals before he put on his school uniform.
Arriving in the class, he sat down at his usual spot, dropping off his bag as he did so. He didn't have any soul guidance device to keep his stuff in, so he had to make to do with this.
Looking around, Lin Feng constantly made use of his Observe skill multiple times, trying to get it to the next level. It took quite a while for it to finally get to the next level.
While Lin Feng was distracted with using his Observe skill, two hands suddenly grasped his shoulder, causing him to jump up in shock.
A laughter entered Lin Feng's ears, allowing him to instantly recognise who had just interrupted his little grinding session. Turning his head back, Lin Feng was met with a boy with short neat black hair standing erect like steel needles. On his face, was a very cheeky look as he laughed out loud at Lin Feng's expense.
"Hahahaha! You should have seen the look on your face Lin Feng!"
Lin Feng smiled wryly. "Not cool dude."
The person in front of him was Xie Yue. From the first Douluo Dalu book, this guy was actually the brother of Hu Liena, who was the Spirit Empire's Holy Maiden.
Now Lin Feng didn't take the initiative to interact with these guys since he didn't want to get dragged into the whole debacle when Tang San came along and inevitably fucked over everyone here. However, for some reason, this Xie Yue was always the one who took the initiative to come and disturb him.
Despite this, Xie Yue was actually a pretty decent person, for a kid that is. He was arrogant sometimes, but it wasn't to the point of being obnoxious. Lin Feng wouldn't mind just being friends wit
"Hehe, sorry about that. You just looked so engrossed in looking at all those pretty girls over there. I was just trying to save your eyeballs from getting poked by them."
Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "The only thing I was staring at was your sister."
"My sister isn't even in class right now..." Xie Yue said with an amused expression on his face.
"She is now."
Lin Feng and Xie Yue both jumped out of their seats in shock as a rough yet charming female voice entered both of their ears.
Both of them turned to look at the speaker, a young girl around the age of eight stood there with a raised eyebrow. Despite her young age, she exuded a charm that just drew everyone's attention to her.
It's definitely her Fox martial spirit doing it…' commented Lin Feng internally.
This person was naturally Hu Liena. Coincidentally, Lin Feng just so happened to be in the same class as three of the members of the Spirit Hall Academy team.
Yes, Lin Feng did say three. There was another guy from it inside this class.
"Liena!"
And there he was.
A boy with long, fiery, red hair and red eyes walked into the room. He had rather plain looks, but he exuded an intangible temperament.
Seeing this guy, Lin Feng frowned as he used Observe on him.
[Yan Rank 17 Spirit Master
Description: Has the Flame Lord martial spirit. Is very arrogant and allows his emotions to cloud his judgement at times. Likes Hu Liena.]
Yup, this person's name was Yan. The same Yan as Xiao Yan in Battle Through The Heavens, which means flames. Strange thing about this guy was though, that he didn't have a surname.
His name was literally just, 'Yan'.
Hu Liena shifted her gaze in Yan's direction. "Yan, you're here…"
A bright smile appeared on Yan's face. "Liena, why don't you sit next to me? We can talk—"
"Sorry, but I want to sit next to my brother. We have something to discuss together."
Yan's expression fell a bit as he heard those words. Nevertheless, he tried keeping the smile on his face. "Well, in that case, nevermind then. You know what, I'll just sit next with you okay?"
Walking over, Yan looked at Lin Feng with a harsh gaze. "Get out of here. This is my seat now."
See what Lin Feng meant? This is classic young master syndrome.
Xie Yue sneered. "Yan! Don't go too fa—"
"It's fine." Lin Feng interrupted.
With a sigh, Lin Feng was about to stand up and leave. Although he wanted to fight, it wasn't really that logical of him to do so.
Firstly, despite Yan being a jackass, Lin Feng wasn't as strong as him… yet. He would just be asking for a beating after school even if Xie Yue did help him out here. One should know that a spirit ring is a massive boost in power. This wasn't even mentioning the fact that Yan was talented enough to skip levels in battle.
Ask for the teachers to help? What a joke. In this academy, this type of behaviour is very encouraged here.
Secondly, Yan had a master behind him, along with an entire gang. Lin Feng had no doubt that Yan would gather all of them to beat him up if Lin Feng somehow managed to beat him.
You don't fuck with the young master if you're not strong enough you know.
However, this didn't mean that Lin Feng would just let this go. He now had the system and had found out that his martial spirit was pretty overpowered. For a gentleman, ten years isn't too late for revenge.
As for his pride… could you eat it? Arrogance was the one thing that gets most people killed. The only important thing was staying alive, no matter the cost.
As long as you were alive, you still had limitless possibilities.
Xie Yue was indignant looking at Lin Feng leaving. He looked at Yan with a slightly dark expression but didn't leave his seat.
He knew that if he went with Lin Feng, his sister would follow, and hence, Yan would follow. He didn't want to trouble his friend more than he needed to be.
Hu Liena watched all of this in relative silence. She didn't know Lin Feng that well, so she didn't bother helping him out. She wanted her brother's help to not talk to Yan.
That guy was just plain annoying.
Nonetheless, she felt quite bad for Lin Feng. Perhaps she would have spoken up if Lin Feng have fought back.
The day passed quickly as school ended around noon. As the teacher's taught the lessons and Lin Feng copied down notes, he heard repeated beeps as his intelligence went up.
[Intelligence + 3]
Leaving class, Xie Yue walked up to Lin Feng. "Sorry about that dude."
Lin Feng smiled. "It's fine. That wasn't your fault anyways."
The two walked back in relative silence,
Back in his room, Lin Feng sighed as he sat down. He wasn't really in the mood for lunch at the moment.
He was just too weak at the moment compared to most of the other's in the class. Yes, he was above average compared to most spirit masters, but in the class he was currently in, he was bottom-third at best in combat.
Hence, there was only one thing that he could do.
It was to grow stronger. Strong enough so that no one can bully him around like that again.
That was the resolution that Lin Feng made on that day. And with that, he made up his mind and steeled himself.

Just saying it first. This story is just a side-project for me. My main fic is still Legend of the Jade Emperor. I'll write this story whenever I get bored or get writer's block.
