Kapitel 110: Chapter 110: Aftermath

Isn't that the same pose as All Might?" Hawks and Shido arrived beside him to support his body and asked at the same time.

"Tch, even at this time, both of you are in synch." Endeavor's flames were totally put off, and not a single lick of fire could be seen on his bod, "I'm using a different arm from him...he uses...his left...!"

Setting him down on the floor, Hawks continued to talk, "Oh, I had no idea! Anyway, thank you very much for winning...! Phantom, as well."

"No problem. My goal is the same as yours, after all." Shido replied, while Endeavor wiped the dirt off his face. Or at least, he tried to since his arms were equally dirty from Nomu's body fluids.

"I failed. That was way too rocky of a start." Endeavor spat out some bad blood and replied.

"Maybe, but this victory is definitely huge." Shido shrugged, "But first, we need to do something about your wounds and that bleeding. Oh! And look! A man that produces flame was burnt? How ironic...."

"Tch! It's all because of your damn tornado that made my flames so big and hot! If not for you, I would still be fine." Endeavor growled at Shido before ordering him, "But what's done is done. Go call someone to help me out. Or better yet, heal me again."

Shido was about to reply when a voice sounded from behind him.

"Hang on a moment, will ya? I gotta say, a lot of this was unexpected, but...well, in any case, nice to meet you...maybe? Endeavor."

The trio turned around to see a fairly tall, pale young man of a slim, somewhat-lanky built.

The most distinct feature of that man was the patches of gnarled, wrinkled, purple skin covering much of his lower face and neck. It even reached all the way down past his collarbone, below his eyes, and on his arms.

"Oh? And who are you?"

"I thought all civilians were supposed to be evacuated already?"

Shido and Hawks asked at the same time, and Shido looked at Hawks with a weird look, "Does he look like any civilian to you? He's obviously on the villains' side. Maybe someone using this chaos to make a fortune? Or robbing people's belonging in the middle of the crisis?"

Shido narrowed his eyes and looked at that man in the distance, "Or maybe he's part of the group which created the nomu? The what? League of Villains, was it?"

"Congrats, you managed to figure out my identity so fast. As expected of the number two hero." The man clapped his hands slowly before retreating slowly, "I just wanted to see how strong the new nomu was, and it turned out to be pretty satisfying. The only regretful thing was that we couldn't see the full extent of Phantom, only that you managed to disintegrate the entire top half of the building within seconds."

"You saw that, and you still dared to come here?" Shido was a little surprised that someone had time to focus on the sky for no reason at all but didn't show any of his thoughts on his face.

"You wouldn't dare to use that in the middle of the streets. You wouldn't risk accidentally hitting civilians, would you?"

Throughout the conversation, Hawks and Endeavor remained silent. Endeavor was too injured to do anything while Hawks had lost all his feathers. Shido was the only one who was in any condition to fight.

"True, but that doesn't mean I won't capture you now. Freeze."

Yoshinon opened his mouth, and the floor turned into ice in an instant. The man didn't panic and used his blue flames to melt the ice.

"Oh?" Shido was surprised about the appearance of another flame-user and opted to get close to him instead.

"Sandalphon." A throne appeared in the path between Shido and the man as Shido dashed towards it.

Stepping on the seat and doing a frontflip, Shido managed to grasp the sword's hilt, which acted as the throne's back.

Pulling out the sword, the rest of the throne shattered into pieces before joining back onto his sword, turning the broadsword into a massive single-edged zanbatō-like sword.

His original outfit changed along with his weapon. His green raincoat disappeared and was replaced by a purple yukata, with pinkish-white edges and sash. His movement wasn't limited as his legs were not restrained by the yukata, wearing a slim-fitting black pant in its place.

Despite the size of the sword, Shido didn't seem to have any problems wielding it. In fact, he wielded it flawlessly.

"Haaaa!"

Shido shouted as he swung his sword diagonally from the man's left shoulder to right waist, but the man moved backward, dodging this obvious move. However, it wasn't the end as Shido immediately spun around and took two steps forward, closing the gap and swung the sword in the same direction again.

This time, the man couldn't react and got slashed on his chest. Yoshinon on his shoulder wasn't sitting idly as a blast of cold air was immediately produced, hitting the man directly on the face.

The ice didn't have a significant impact on the man as it melted in just five seconds. But being distracted for a second was dangerous in a fight, much less five.

Shido didn't hesitate and sliced off his left arm, earning him a scream of pain from the man. However, he needed to retreat a few steps as blues flames suddenly appeared right underneath him.

The man had an ugly face; he clearly didn't expect to start a fight here. All he wanted to do was access the situation and kill the two heroes in their weakened form. If he had the opportunity.

But the moment he saw Shido was there, he had already decided to retreat. Who knew that Shido would instantly summon a sword and rush to attack him.

The ice was useless to him as he had his blue flames, but the sword certainly wasn't, evident from the sight of his left arm on the ground.

"Grr..." The man growled in anger.

"Himura, I need to retreat! Now!" The man whispered agitatedly into his mouthpiece.

"Hm? You ran into trouble?" A voice rang back into his ear as he started running and dodging at the same time, occasionally throwing a fireball and burning the surroundings to make his environment more favorable to him.

"Fine."

As soon as the word came, a red-haired man manifested next to him, and before Shido could even freeze them in their tracks, they disappeared again.

"Sigh, they got away again? Should I just erase those guys so that I won't have any future trouble?"

*****************

Two days later, the construction was soon going on its way. Endeavor got healed by Chiyo's disciple, Eri.

Now that Eri's quirk doesn't have it's limitations anymore, she could go to Chiyo's workplace (the infirmary in UA) to help out anytime. Her quirk was, in a way, much better than Chiyo's.

Chiyo's quirk only speeds up the natural recovery rate of a patient, meaning that if the patient had naturally weak healing, her quirk wouldn't be able to provide much assistance.

On the other hand, Eri's quirk directly touches on the abstract concept of 'time'. She would reverse any injuries as though it had never happened in the first place, so it wouldn't matter if the patient had weak recovery or strong recovery as long as they were once healthy.

Of course, it also has its own limitations. 'Rewind' literally rewinds everything, meaning all muscle memory, nerves memory, muscle fibers, and tendons were all reversed. This would cause intense pain for the patient, and that also meant that she could not help with training as all their muscles would revert back to their 'unexercised' form.

Endeavor was already at his peak before the attacks and injuries, so he managed to survive without any surgeries or operations, leaving no scars from the fight.

Naturally, as a fellow fighter and hero, he visited Endeavor while he was in the hospital. It was only for formalities' sake, but the doctors that worked there were surprised.

No one apart from a few people knew that Eri could reverse time on a person. After all, if everybody knew that she could basically make someone immortal, Overhaul wouldn't be the last one to start an experiment on her. So Shido used every last bit of his authority to ensure that Eri's secret stays as a top-secret confidential subject.

Of course, he wouldn't trust those old fogies who would always try to do the 'politically right thing' and found some blackmail material on their dirty deeds. This is to ensure that they wouldn't ever cross the line when dealing with Eri.

Of course, the moment Eri would ever be hurt by a single experiment needle or scalpel unwillingly, Japan can say goodbye to its government and, depending on the severity of the issue, potentially Japan's land as well.

The rest of the top ten heroes dropped by as well just to see how Endeavor's going, but the moment they saw him sitting upright perfectly fine, they left after saying a few greetings.

Mirko also hopped away as quickly as she showed up after declaring that she would be looking for them.

After a few days or curious observations by the doctors, Endeavor couldn't stand it anymore and demanded a discharge. Of course, as the number one hero, he had sufficient authority to do that, and the doctors couldn't say anything to prevent that from happening.

They reluctantly discharged Endeavor the very next day, and Hawks and Shido came to walk with him.

Shido didn't mind spending more time with Endeavor now that he had changed. Their relationship was notably rocky in the past, but now that Endeavor had mellowed out a tiny bit after reaching the number one hero position, their relationship had improved as well. Coupled with the recent nomu incident and after fighting together, they couldn't be considered extremely friendly, but it was on its way there.

"How are you feeling? I hope you enjoyed Eri's healing process." Shido stated with a smirk as he walked together with Endeavor and Hawks.

"Yeah...the times I heard you screaming and yelling during the healing process were more than the number of times you screamed during an actual fight." Hawks added his own opinion as he adjusted his visor.

"Shut up, novices. How about you try getting 3rd-degree burns all over your body, bitten by some monster nomu on your arm, and crashed right through three buildings? And then reverse the entire damn process?" Endeavor growled as he pulled his luggage containing his hero costume alongside him.

"No thanks."

"I won't get burned."

Shido and Hawks replied at the same time before giggling.

"Tch...but more importantly, that nomu came charging in aiming directly for us. And on the same day we arrived...was that truly a coincidence?"

"Ahh..." Hawks eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he explained his assumption, "Well when the new top three are walking around right outside the station in broad daylight, it's bound to raise some eyebrows. The villains were waiting for their chance, and we caught their eye. It's possible that the nomu rumors were just bait spread by hero hunters. We'll have to notify the league search team."

They soon reached the train station that Endeavor was due for.

"Tread carefully." Endeavor said, "If you're planning on continuing your investigation from here on out, you should ask someone to cooperate with you. That way, even if another enemy of that caliber appears, you'll be able to stand against it."

Hearing Endeavor's words, both Hawks and Shido was flabbergasted.

"Endeavor, have you always been that considerate?! You haven't, have you?" Shido and Hawks once again synchronized their words and tone and laughed at Endeavor.

"Do you want to get burned?!"

"Once all my feathers grow back, I'll be back on the job. I'll probably be another day or so. Shouldn't you get some rest too, Endeavor?"

Giving only some brief and absent-minded replies, Endeavor soon left for his train.

"Alright, catch ya later!" Hawks and Shido waved towards the leaving Endeavor, and Endeavor just waved without turning back.

"Really, though?" Leaving behind the number two and number three hero together, Shido broke the silence.

"Really what?" Hawks raised an eyebrow at Shido's question.

"Nothing." Shido shook his head and looked at Hawks in the eyes, "If it's your choice, I won't say anything otherwise. Just..."

"...don't get too corrupted, alright?" Shido waved and disappeared without waiting for his response.

Hawks was stunned at Shido's words before eventually laughing out loud, causing several on-lookers to wonder why is the number three hero laughing his head off like a mad man. It wasn't his attention, but many people soon started to crowd around him.

If it was any other day, he would have gladly remained there to communicate with some of his fans, but today was not one of those days.

Eri's rewind cannot cure mental fatigue, and after that tiring incident, even a few days wouldn't be enough.

His feathers haven't fully regrown yet, but it was enough to support himself to the sky.

Flying back towards his home, he thought about Shido's last words.

"Don't get too corrupted, huh?" Hawks muttered under his breath with a smile.

"I'm terrified of you now. That was supposed to be a top-secret meeting...but you...truly know anything, huh?"
