Kapitel 21: Chapter 21: Meeting (II)
Nezu's eyes, which had been closed until now, shot open at the mention of 'reversing time'. "A time quirk..." He breathed in hard. A time quirk was exceptionally rare, so rare that only one had appeared before in history, just after the birth of the first quirk user.
"Don't be too shocked now, the girl who came with him had the quirk known as 'Rewind', showing another time quirk." All Might sighed at this point. A time quirk hadn't appeared in nearly 150-200 years, and now two appeared at the same time.
The room just went silent. Two kids born in the same year with similar quirks, what is the coincidence?
"Wait, you said 'firstly'. So what were the other weapons that he could summon?" Nezu asked.
"You know Phantom also summons a piano to perform in his concerts so I won't elaborate too much on that since I also do not know much about it. He also has a living puppet which eats apples, but I don't know exactly if it was part of his quirk. And lastly, just this morning, he summoned a broom which managed to change his and Eri's physical appearance." All Might stated everything he knew, which was not much, but even mosquito's meat is still considered meat. Seeing from the fact that they had absolutely no data on Phantom, every bit of information meant a lot to them.
"So in conclusion, we can say that the boy has the ability to manipulate time and change appearances, while the other two were just there for show? Not much information, but it's still better than nothing." Nezu sighed again. He had been sighing a lot today, the stress from an unknown boy made his hair, or fur, white and he would become bald from stress in no time if this continued on.
And for the next half an hour, the room discussed with one another about the matter of the boy. All Might had long been out of their minds now that that knew how he was healed. Not everyone present was a pro hero, and though All Might was very famous and had many fans, it only applied to those who aspired to be heroes. People like them who specialise in different aspects only had admiration towards All Might, but not to the point of veneration. After all, even the number one hero in Japan could still be critically injured, proving that they were, after all, still human in nature.
The discussion led to no results, everybody had their own opinions of the boy. Some wanted more information, some wanted to leave him alone, one even suggested experimenting on his cells and quirks. In the end, Nezu and Hisoka had to intervene in the discussion.
"Alright, that's enough. That boy can't be controlled, and since even All Might had said that he wouldn't be able to defeat him, it gives us another reason not to antagonise him." Nezu spoke up," Therefore, in conclusion, we do nothing."
"Nothing?!" The others shouted agitatedly,"You expect us to let a living time bomb just wander around Japan?!"
"And what else can we do? We have no records on his personality apart from the fact that he's playful, and that might not even be true since he had only appeared in front of All Might just a few days ago. He might even be more a danger than we could imagine if he was to be antagonised." Nezu directed his question to the man who spoke up.
The man had no answer to his question, and could not find any way to capture, threaten, kill or remove him without great losses. And even then, he might end up being on top.
Nezu observed that the room was silent before sighing and continued,"I also want to ensure that he works for us, or at least doesn't work against us, but as All Might has mentioned, Phantom is still a child, and can easily be influenced. So the only thing we have to do is to not let him fall into the path of darkness." Stopping here, he looked at All Might seriously. "It's your responsibility to not let him fall."
All Might, who had remained silent until now, looked back at Nezu with an equally serious look. He didn't even have his trademark smile on his face. "Of course. If that were to ever happen, I will do anything to bring him down, even if it cost me my life."
All Might obviously didn't know Shido's capabilities, and neither did anyone present in the room knew. As they say, 'Ignorance is bliss', and they would be glad that they didn't know what Shido was capable of in the future.
Like this, the meeting ended, and everybody left for their own respective jobs. Two big news had been simultaneously delivered, and their minds couldn't hold it much longer; they needed a break.
Seeing all of them leave, Nezu and Recovery girl remained behind with All Might. "So, you can still use One for All?" Recovery girl asked while inspecting closely at where his wounds used to be.
"Yes, in fact, I feel as strong as when I was in my prime." All Might gave a light smile as he transformed back. Unlike before where his cheeks were sunken and his body was so thin that it seemed as though wind could blow him down, his current looks were far better than before. Although not as huge compared to his 'muscular' form, he could still pass as an ordinary citizen, with a healthy body and slightly rosy cheeks.
Seeing that his injuries had really fully healed, Recovery girl sighed in relief. She had been worried that the treatment was fake or defective, but it seems that her worries were for naught.
"So what are you going to do now?" Nezu asked in curiosity.
"I'm going to search for a successor." Toshinori said. Apart from himself, only the two people currently beside him, along with an old friend and a mentor knew about his quirk. A total of five people, seven people now that the two children knew as well. He had requested that they keep silent about his quirk, and they agreed. Toshinori didn't know why they agreed so readily, but as long as it wasn't detrimental to him, he didn't mind it too much.
"Are you sure? You don't have to rush these sort of things, right? You would have a lot of time, especially since you're fully healed already." Nezu frowned at his words. He was worried that he was searching for a successor on a whim, and his choice might not be the best one and even worse, his choice might turn against them and become a villain.
"Yes I'm sure, after the fight two months ago, I realised my own weakness. We often preach that we heroes have to work together to take down villains that are very strong, and yet, I myself did not follow our own preaching, almost losing my life in that fight. If I were any unluckier, I would have died back then without managing to pass down my quirk." Toshinori thought for a while before replying,"I don't want to bring down a sin with me into my grave. If One for All died with me without All for One dying, society would collapse in the future. To prevent that, I want to find a successor."
The two people stared at each other with serious eyes, and after a minute, Nezu backed down. "Sigh, I can't stop you, can I? But please don't rush into finding a successor, you still have time after all, especially now when All for One is at his weakest."
Toshinori smiled and started walking out.
"So how are you going to find your successor?" Nezu's voice sounded out.
Pausing his steps, Toshinori became stiff. He had no idea at all!
Seeing his reaction, Nezu sighed again. "It seems that I was right, you have no idea, do you? Why don't you teach at UA? You'll be able to find some potential candidates, it might not be much, but it's a good start." Nezu offered. Of course, he had ulterior motives, but Toshinori's successor played an equally important reason.
Toshinori thought for a bit before shaking his head. "No, not yet. After 5 years, if 5 years have passed without a single candidate, I'll teach at UA." He said before continuing his steps.
"Well, good luck then!" Nezu also said nothing more as he remained inside the room, deep in his thoughts.
Recovery girl had long been gone after checking Toshinori's health, and Toshinori soon followed.
'Phantom...so troublesome...'
