At the park, two figures could be seen on the swing, one of them was a girl who was licking her ice cream and the other was a glitching figure, showing no information about its age or gender. The girl was licking her ice-cream and closed her eyes in bliss. It was such a blessing to be able to eat anything without being fat.
The ghost was made up of a myriad of colours, constantly glitching like a computer virus. Not a single part of his body could be seen, not his height, age, hair and eyes colour. Nothing.
The girl seated next to it was rather pretty. She wore a white one-piece dress that was clearly of high quality. She had long black hair tied into a spiky ponytail and black onyx eyes. It was clear that she had the potential to become a stunner once she grew up.
The girl, Momo was in great spirits as she looked at the side profile of the 'ghost' after finishing her ice cream. It was so cool back then. She still had stars in her eyes. Being born in a rich and influential family had its downsides as well. Requiring to be a noble lady, training, maintaining her looks and behaviours. All these actions require her a lot of time, leaving no time to look for the trendiest news. If she had watched or read about Phantom's actions lately, she would have related the 'ghost' next to her as the most famous and mysterious idol in Japan, or maybe in Asia.
Momo was from a rich family of heroes. She was used to seeing famous people go in and out of her house, but they were all old heroes; All Might, Midnight, Gran Torino, Recovery girl. For her, this was nothing special and nothing to brag for. It was just normal. But the 'ghost' was different. He was even younger than her, she assumed from the way it called her 'onee-chan', but he could already defeat someone she couldn't even struggle against. His quirk, which she assumed was ice manipulation and creation wasn't as weird as her own. As she thought of that she became a little depressed and it was showing on her face.
Shido gave a curious look at this onee-chan whose expression changed faster than he could blink. She was at first scared, then excited, bashful, happy and now sad. It wasn't the first time he saw a myriad of emotions displayed on someone, but it was the first time the emotions changed so fast. The only other person he knew was Yoshinon, and he didn't have such a wide range of emotions. He was mostly happy go lucky, always wanting to play, and if not eating his apples happily.
He wondered what happened this time and asked. She answered him about her apprehension about her quirk and her dream to be a hero. As such, he asked her about her quirk.
"My quirk is called [CREATION] and it gives me the ability to create any non-living material through the molecular manipulation of my fat cells."
She didn't know that she should only tell the people she trusted about her quirk because her quirk was dangerous. The more Shido listened the more he was astonished. How could she call this quirk useless or weird? It was basically a level-up on his Haniel. Haniel allows him to transform anything to anything, but Momo's quirk allowed her to create anything without any major drawback. After all, she could potentially make a nuclear weapon just from eating, or destroy the economy by making a lot of money from her quirk.
Plus,no girl wanted to be fat, and by manipulating her fat cells, she could easily lose weight after eating all she wanted.
"But such a great quirk couldn't come without some limitations right? Let me guess, you are limited in the mass of what you can create since it burns your fat cells. You're also limited by how big you can create them. So unless you weigh 1000kg, you wouldn't be able to create any airplanes, nuclear weapons or anything huge."
Shido could easily understand this point since Haniel also had limitations. He couldn't transform a coin to an airplane since the size difference was too great, but transforming an airplane into a helicopter works.
Momo was surprised. She didn't think her quirk was that easy to understand. This made her more depressed. But she continued.
"The problem isn't just this. As long as I have an understanding of how something is made, I can make it. In the same way, I cannot create something I don't understand. Also..."
Shido was intrigued. When she reached the last part, she began to blush heavily as she stammered a little.
"Also?"
She murmured something, but Shido couldn't hear her.
"What did you say?"
"I SAID! The larger the things I want to create, the more skin I have to show!"
She nearly screamed the first part before hiding her face behind her hand as she blushed furiously and continued the second part. She was so ashamed that she wanted to dig a hole and crawl in it.
"Oh...Oh!"
Shido, on the other hand, was dumbstruck at first because of her scream, and after that, he finally understood her words. This drawback wouldn't be much for a boy, but for a girl? Shido had enough common sense to know that it wouldn't be easy, and was tactful enough not to say anything else to agitate her. Unfortunately, Yoshinon didn't care and directly spoke his mind.
"So you become an exhibitionist?" Another distorted voice rang out. It was different from the first. Despite both being distorted, the first had a much nicer voice from what Momo could differentiate. The second had a much more playful tone than the first, and sounded more childish.
"..."
Momo didn't reply. She was too ashamed to look at them. She wanted to die of embarrassment. When she thought of her quirk in that point of view, she really needed to be an exhibitionist to let her quirk work better.
Shido panicked. He didn't know Yoshinon would deal a fatal blow to Momo at a critical juncture. He tried to find a way to calm her down but before he could say anything, she spoke up first.
"Tell me..."
"What...?" He was nervous and didn't know what she was talking about.
"I told you mine so tell me yours." Her eyes were blazing. It looked like she wanted to change subjects to get rid of her embarrassment. Hearing her, his eyes shone with a playful light., forgetting all about apologising to her.
"It's~A~Secret~" Shido grinned and floated up where Momo couldn't reach.
"What! Hey, it isn't fair! Come back down!" Momo was furious. She told someone about her quirk, but the other party didn't. Worse still, he even floated out of her reach while teasing her. "Hey, tell me your quirk!"
"My quirk? Why don't you take a guess, Momo onee-chan?" Shido floated above her while teasing her. "I'm pretty famous you know? If I casually tell you my quirk, people would find out about it and there wouldn't be any surprises left."
"You're famous? Famous for what?" Momo quickly asked. She had forgotten about the matter about Shido's quirk.
"You know, you quirk is far from useless. Frankly, while it's not a super flashy quirk, it's still really priceless."
Momo was angry that he suddenly changed topics, but continued listening.
"I heard a saying. 'Knowledge is power, while information is liberating'. The first part of the saying is the best way to describe your quirk. It may have some drawbacks, but if you want to become a hero, I think that they are without importance. Don't you think so? After all, what is a little shame compared to saving a life?"
Momo was deep in thought for a while before nodding and letting out a radiant smile. Frankly, what he said was already said to her many times. She was surrounded by heroes. How could they not understand how useful her quirk was? But most of the time, the same advice would have different effects depending on who gave it. It was saddening, but it was life.
"I understand. Thank you. I will read more, become much smarter and aim to become a great hero. What about you? Will you join UA and become a hero?"
Shido didn't reply. The future was never truly set. He was an anomaly, even in this world full of people. He could never die, never age, manipulate memories, reality, space and time. The question stumped him a little. Still, he let out a chuckle and answered her.
"It depends~"
However, the laugh was a little lonely and distant in Momo's eyes.
"Now let's bring you back home. Haniel!" A broom appeared out of nowhere, and sucked Momo inside.
"The people hiding behind the wall can also go home first. I'll bring her home myself." He said to the wall before the broom sucked him in as well and disappeared like it was never there in the first place.
*************
The people who were hiding behind the wall were shocked. They knew he could float from the performance he usually showed, but teleporting? That was another ability. Society generally never had more than one quirk, and there were only three cases of people having two quirks in history, and now a potential fourth one had appeared.
"Damn that monster, he could sense all of us." A man who wore a standard suit and sunglasses swore. They might not be the elites of the elites, but they were at least all elites in their respective fields, capable of drawing attention from everywhere if they chose to quit the Yaoyozuru household.
"We need to report this back to master and mistress. If Phantom keeps his word, the young mistress would be back home already. If he didn't...." Another man wearing the exact same outfit remarked. He didn't want to imagine what would happen to them if the young mistress they were tasked to protect went missing.
"Sigh, let's just pray nothing happens to the young mistress. Everyone, pack up and head back home." The man, who seemed to be the leader of the five, commanded them and turned back to the car, not waiting for them to catch up.
"Who are you, Phantom?" He murmured as he waited for his team in the car.
