Kapitel 13: A man by the name of Sinister

[A/N: So... I have around 11-12 chapters stockpiled (He already join hellfire and is stronger than Captain America within those chapters)... So... I *might* (emphasis on 'might') make a Pat reon. Not like anyone will take a pledge... But it's worth a try. *Shrugs* kek]

"I didn't expect to meet you so soon… Mr. Essex." The man laughed when I took his name.

The pale... almost white skin of the man with the blood-red eyes that shone in the darkroom made him look scary, almost… sinister.

"Indeed it wasn't time for me to meet you. But you have increased the pace of your projects... so I had to increase my pace as well." He walked inside and looked at the various blueprints that were hung around the wall. "Interesting. Some of these are quite complex even for those with a genius-level of intellect."

"But not for you, now are they." My question made him smirk.

"They are not."

Considering these projects were decades ahead of time, it was not very difficult to get an estimate of his intellect.

"So, what brings you here, Mr. Essex? Or should I use your alias?"

He rubs his chin before replying. "Both of them work. So it doesn't matter."

"Alright then, I will address you as Mr. Essex." He nods. "So, may I know the reason for the sudden visit?"

"You already know the reason, Hanley." He sat on the couch without care.

I took the seat, in front of him. "I do. I also know the reason for your obsession with me."

This got him to raise an eyebrow before smiling. "I know what you are doing with the mutants, kid. So tell me, what's your endgame?"

"Mutants and Humans are two of the most interesting species, don't you think so?" I let my body relax on the couch. "Yet no one tries to understand them... How they work… and how they evolved."

Essex didn't say anything but kept a smile on his face.

"A human's gene is one of the most complex yet rapidly developing structure. Funny how we were once apes…" I look towards him. "Don't you think so too?"

He nodded. "I do. A species with countless possibilities relating to evolution yet… no one bothers to look inside them. Mutants are the evolution and humans are the base… the link to that evolution… That's what Darwin missed in his theory of evolution."

"True, so why do they not see this? The infinite possibilities that are in front of them, yet they ignore it." I sighed. "Let me explain… It's because they are scared. They are scared to be left behind, they are scared that someone will become superior to them, and... they are scared of feeling weak."

"What do you want to achieve?" He asked once again.

"Evolution. I want to reach the peak of evolution, the point of perfection." I smiled at him. "And for that, I need your help."

His expression remained neutral. "You are either very brave or extremely stupid. I am pretty sure you know exactly who I am… Yet you are asking for my help… Tell me, what will I receive from this... bargain?"

Sinister is not someone that I can play without proper planning. This guy is a genius amongst geniuses. And bargaining with him is extremely risky… But I already knew that he would be visiting me pretty soon.

"Your son." He flinched. "And your wife."

He released his powers causing me to have trouble breathing.  "You know that you are pathetically weak… and that I can kill you with little to no effort, right?"

I laughed. "But you won't. Now will you, Mr. Sinister?"

Sinister examined me. "And what makes you think that, Mr. Hanley?"

"If it was anyone else, you wouldn't have even bothered to make a visit. You are a person who works from the shadows and yet you came to visit me. What does that mean? I am an important tool for your plan to succeed." A grin appeared on my face. "Take this."

I passed him my diary, the one where I noted my mutant abilities progression.

"This is a memo of my evolution." His shocked face looked interesting. "It has every little detail about my increase in mutant powers. From the moment I awakened them to now." His shock turned into a massive grin.

I obviously removed most of the pages which had other important information… They will come handy later on.

"And why do you think giving it to me is a good idea?"

Of course not! It was pretty stupid. But the thing is… He already knew about me being a mutant. He has been keeping tabs on me from the moment I started becoming rich.

Nathaniel Essex is a man who keeps tracks of 'everything.' And it would be impossible to stay hidden from a man who can read minds, teleport, is immortal, and is an expert in genetics.

The only reason I am not very scared of talking to him is because of my mental barriers. Quite some time ago… my powers evolved again... providing me with sort of an anti-mind reading barrier.

Well, I will definitely not be testing it against someone like Xavier or Emma Frost… But despite Essex having telepathy… he was pretty trash at using it.

"Because you already knew about them, my mutant powers. I have invisibility and mind-reading but you have far too many mutant abilities." I chuckled. "You already went through my background."

He was not the only one who knew... There are countless powerful beings who have already marked me... That's why I need to take every step carefully.

"That I did. Starting as a thief and ending up as one of the biggest businessmen within a span of six years. That is impressive."

It indeed was. Very few mutants think about the future of them and their powers... when they awaken their abilities for the first time.

But the heist…. *Sigh* I had to follow one of the staff members when they entered the vault to take out some money... using my invisibility I followed behind them… and had to stay inside for a few hours.

Thank the gods that there were no CCTV cameras back then and neither were there any ATMs… So for every little transaction, people had to use banks.

Without that… I would have been stuck inside the vault for at least 24 hours.

"Maybe." I said.

"What do you want from 'evolution'?" He already knew the answer but still asked me.

"My powers are growing and they are growing fast. But this also brings unwanted attention." This made him chuckle. "The faster I grow, the more eyes fall upon me. You are an example of that."

"There are countless beings who will destroy the world just for the sake of entertainment. And if they notice me, I will turn into a pawn… just like you did." His smile turned into a frown.

"Apocalypse is not someone you can defeat, Sinister. He is beyond you." His powers peaked making the glass around us shatter.

"You know nothing about me kid." Trust me… I do.

"True. But I know enough to figure out your motive, the reasons for such intense research." I stood up. "Help me, Nathaniel Essex. And I promise that you will have both your wife and son back."

He just sat there silent.

Nathaniel Essex or Mr. Sinister ended up as the super genius villain because of the death of his son and later his wife. Apocalypse played a major role in Sinister's story.

"You are not the only mutant I can use." He said. "You are just one of many."

True. 'Cable' is the one... who he used but in this timeline… I am not letting that guy to be born. The children of Scott and Jean were the cause of countless tragedies… and I am not letting that happen within this timeline.

"True. But none of them are growing as fast as me."

Neither Jean nor Scott were born yet… So that makes my job a bit easier. I knew that I was playing with fire... But Sinister is extremely important.

Also... I am no Marvel expert, but knowing that this is not the perfect version of earth-616 or MCU… is troubling.

"I am your best bet, Essex. And with my growth, you will have the key to your freedom." Sinister is not someone I can afford to have against me.

"What do you want?" This made me grow a smile on my face.

"Immortality." His eyes opened wide.

[A/N: Read this before dropping 1-star reviews.

Sinister was never 'truly' evil. He turned out this way because of the death of the ones he cared about... and Apocalypse fucked him up.

As for the diary... It was pretty pointless. Sinister already knew about his powers but not to the point that they were 'evolving' so easily.

Sinister's goal was to get rid of Apocalypse and so he experimented on Scott... ended up creating Madelyne Pryor... But why did he went through all that trouble for? Because he wanted to get rid of En Sabah Nur.

If Cyclops and Madelyne had a son/daughter... He believed that the child would be the best choice for this.

But now that there is a mutant (MC) who is evolving he is interested in him. He plans on using him as his pawn (I won't let him do that). And neither... Scott nor Jean was born yet. So, Marcellus is his best bet atm.

And this is part one... The deal will he explained in the next chapter. Don't worry about cloning... That won't be an issue.
