Kapitel 99: Chapter-98 "My Luck Is Ex-Rank!"

"Miyuki, please lock the door?"
Tatsuya requested his sister to close the main door to their house as he moved to the living room.
It was late afternoon, he was wearing a black shirt and pants; probably working on some project for his.
"Yes, Oni-sama!"
Miyuki moved towards the door and closed it before clicking on a panel hidden behind a wall.

Shutter!
Suddenly, a metal plate emerged out of the door frame and reinforced the door.
Effectively blocking any sound from leaving the house.
She wore a normal blue dress and bunny slippers...
...briskly moving towards the living room.

Inside the living room, Tatsuya picked up the T.V remote from the table and click on the red button.
Shutter!
Similar to the metal plate reinforcing the door, more metal plates emerged from the window glass frame; effectively sealing the room.
The ceiling opened a little as a rather large black screen emerged in front of the siblings.
Click!
The black screen lit up as a face appeared on the screen.
"Sir! Special Agent Ooguro Ryuuya, reporting for duty!"
Tatsuya stood in an "attention" position as he greeted the face on the screen.
"Agent Ooguro Ryuuya, apologies for disturbing you when you are on vacation, unfortunately, we need you for an important mission."
Major Kazama, the commander of the 101-battalion himself was briefing the details of Tatsuya's new mission.
"I understand, Sir!"
"Good, I will explain to you the details of this mission."
"Your target is [The Puppet Master], a level-X threat, who's abilities and strengths are not known."
"All we know is that the stolen nuclear weapons from Cuba are in his possession.
"The government of Cuba had commissioned an unregistered [Strategic-Level Magician] to hunt him down..."
"...but somehow, the target managed to escape and had been hiding in Tokyo; all this time."
"Your mission is to capture him alive so that we can extract the location and activation codes of the nukes from him."
"But considering his means..."
"...you may kill him if left with no choice."
"Who will be participating in the mission along with me?"
Hearing the details provided by his battalion commander, questions appeared within Tatsuya's mind.
"Yanagi will assist you."
Major Kazama answered readily as if he had already expected Tatsuya to ask questions.
"What about Kyouko-san?"
Usually, Kyouko and Tatsuya work together as the former provides excellent support and combined with the latter's powers!...
...missions went rather easily.
"The higher-ups have decided against letting her be a part of this mission."
Major Kazama had a bland tone as he dryly replied to Tatsuya's question; clearly, he didn't like what he had to state.
"May I ask why?"
Once again!
Curiosity sprung within Tatsuya's mind.
"Kyouko and Chiba Toshikazu were attacked by [The Puppet Master] a couple of days ago."
"Due to the involvement of a dangerous criminal, all news regarding the attack was suppressed by us."
"Chiba Toshikazu had sustained heavy injuries...
"...and is in a coma."
Major Kazama had a dark expression on his face, signifying that he was quite pissed at the moment.
"Kyouko and Toshikazu have been dating for more than 4-years, things were going very well for them until this incident."
"She is devastated by what had happened to her boyfriend."
"The higher-ups believe that she would let her personal feelings interfere with the mission, thus only you and Yanagi will be on this mission."
"Alright, do we know about the target's goals?"
While it was indeed unfortunate, what had happened to Kyouko...
...ultimately it didn't matter to Tatsuya who had more important things at hand.
"No, we don't have any idea what his goals maybe but we do know that he would soon leave the country to relocate."
"You are required to find him and stop him before he can leave the country, once he goes International; we wouldn't be able to track him."

The door shuttered open!
Someone clearly was in a hurry.
The loud noise made by the sliding door acted as an indicator of someone's impatience.
As it opened; revealing a red-head who clearly looked like she had been running for quite some time.
Sweat trickled down her lovely face, her brows furrowed as her eyes darted everyone; within the room.

She greedily devoured the air...
...trying to regain her breath.
Wearing a gray jacket and sweat pants, she made her way towards the bed inside the room.
"Toshi-Nii!? Are you alright!?"
"What happened!? Toshi-Nii!"
Erika immediately rushed to her older brother's side and gently held his unconscious body.
"Erika!"
There was more than one person inside the room; one of these people was Erik's elder brother, Chiba Naotsugu.
Thinking that Erika may unknowingly hurt their unconscious brother, he quickly hurried towards her to make sure she doesn't get too close.
"What happened Naotsugu-Nii!? Why is Toshi-Nii hurt!?"
Erika turned to see a familiar face approaching her.
Almost immediately, she burst into a blabbering mess as tears poured out of her beautiful eyes; staining her face.
"Toshi-Nii will be alright, don't worry about him, ok?"
Naotsugu being the responsible elder brother hugged his younger sister and started coaxing her that everything would be fine...
...that their older brother would soon wake up!
"Don't forget that he is very strong and resistant; he would recover to full health in no time!"
Chiba Toshikazu had been admitted into a private hospital owned by the Chiba Family.
Chiba Toshikazu being the heir of the Chiba family was attacked in broad daylight and was even critically injured.
This was a massive blow to their pride and would have been a massive blow to their prestige if the news of the attack got out.
Thus, to prevent such complications.
The Chiba Family had tightly wrapped the information around their fingers, allowing very few to know what was actually going on.
Another one of the individuals moved towards the brother-sister pair and spoke in a grave tone.
"What had happened with Toshikazu should never see the light of the daylight, we need to regain our pride as the Chiba Clan."
"I, the 24th Clan Head, order you both to hunt down [The Puppet Master] and kill him!"
"Do you accept!?"
Erika looked towards her unconscious brother with tears spilling out of her eyes and spoke in a dark, cold tone.
"I accept!"

(At the Dream Technology Office)
"So what do you think about it?"
"It's nice, isn't it?"
Erik had a slight smile on his face as he showed his office to Suzune, who had requested him to teach her some politics.
[Thesis Competition] would come soon, Suzune wanted to have as much social experience as she could gain during this time.
Working under the biggest businessman would surely teach her how to effectively have a conversation with the people.
"It's nice..."
"You think so? Thank you, I spent quite a lot of time designing my office."
"Anyway, you need not worry Su-chan! I guarantee that you will turn into a formidable saleswoman once I am done with you."
"That....does sound assuring?"
"Haha....don't worry, take some rest today and we will start from tomorrow."
"Alright, if you say so..."
Suzune nodded towards Erik and moved towards the door.
Shutter!
She left.
Erik was in a good mood, he was helping a close friend and it was a refreshing feeling.

Suddenly, as if on queue!
His phone rang up.
Click!
"Yes?"
Erik picked up the phone while looking towards the clock hanging on the wall.
"Ho-ho! I bring some interesting news!"
Apparently, it was the famous bald ninja!
Kokonoe Yakumo!
"Is that so? Alright, humor me."
Asked Erik with an amused tone and corresponding expression on his face.
"Do you remember what you requested me to do, the last time you visited the temple?"
Crude playfulness leaked out of his voice!
Threatening to contaminate Erik's ears!
"Indeed, so do you have it? The location of [The Puppet Master]?"
"Not only that, but I also know of his plan!"
Now, this managed to get Erik's attention.
"Interesting, go on please..."
"He wants to give the nuclear codes to [No-Head Dragon] as a reconciliation gift!"
"Apparently, he messed up somehow and was kicked out of the organization with a bounty on his head."
"Oh? The same old same old..."
"Yeah, I only have this information regarding him."
"As for his location..."
"...I will inform you through a secured channel."
"Alright, thank you very much Kokonoe-san."
"Not a problem, Mr.Saltzman."
Click!
Erik disconnected the secured call with a smile on his face.
"My luck is Ex-rank!"
Knock!
"Come in!"
Shutter!
Erik's assistant entered the office, holding a bunch of files in her hands.
"Yes?"
Erik questioned with a calm expression on his face.
"Sir, a woman named Kyouko is in the waiting hall, requesting to meet you."
"She is saying that she knows you and that it is an important matter."
"Oh? Sure, let her in..."
"Yes, Sir!"
Shutter!
The assistant turned around and left the room, to arrange for a meeting with Kyouko.
"My my..."
"...the day just keeps on getting better and better!"
A seemingly harmless calculating smile appeared on Erik's face.
