Kapitel 47: Turning Over A New Leaf

"So you're telling me that this sticker would increase the power of my Pokemon?"

A young man asked as he looked at the stickers on the table. She was looking at his trainer card and read the name 'Red', an odd name. She gives it back to him as she assures him that these stickers would power up his Pokemon.

"You bet! Putting them on your Pokemon's cheeks would definitely double it." She said with a persuasive and charismatic manner. She wears a black dress, black shoes and white gloves.

"Cool, how much does it cost again?" Red asked her as he wants a double-check on the pricing.

"20 bucks for each." She said,

"I'll buy all of them!" Red said as he began to grab money from his pocket.

She gave all of the stickers to Red, with a happy and assured promise that these stickers would give Red a boost on his Pokemon's powers. As he leaves the scenery, she begins to count the money and checks that she got 400 bucks for selling those 20 'powerful' stickers.

"One Happy customer, One Happy Green." She smirks as she leaves the place with the money in her pocket knowing that she just scammed a naive trainer. She knows that there's no such thing as a power-up stiker and her charisma and her demonstration was enough to fool Red.

Her name is Green. A 12-year-old orphan living in Kanto. A criminal and a trouble-maker that scams innocent bystanders to get a quick buck. Nobody knows who her parents are since they were killed by the legendary bird, Ho-oH. The bird kidnaped her for a long time, traumatized from the event, she developed an ornithophobia, an irrational fear of birds or bird-like Pokemon.

When she was saved from Ho-oh, instead of being sent to an orphanage and getting a better life, she was taken by a malicious man, the Masked Man. She called him that since he always wears a mask, never revealing his true face to her. He taught and raised this girl to be a criminal. Stealing and scamming people. She doesn't know she's living a life of crime since this man indoctrinated her that being a criminal is her only true purpose.

He was very abusive to her, there are times when she gets bruises from the amount of pressure and trauma he gives to her whenever she fails a simple task. There were even moments when he starved her for, yet again, failing a simple task. All of the pain and suffering she has gotten into made her take revenge on the person that saved her. She killed him in his sleep and ran away as far as she could, reaching the border of Kanto.

She was alone in this world, no parents to take care of her, no guardian to teach her and the loss of her humanity. She has nothing left in this world. She has to live through the results of a problem that she didn't even create.

At that time, her tummy rumbled as she was getting hungry. Upon entering Kanto, she stumbled upon a small and humble town of Pallet town. She saw a laboratory nearby and was hoping to find food over there. She knew that knocking would draw her attention, so she decided to break in instead.

She slowly walks to the perimeter of the laboratory and notices how this place barely has any security. She realized how this place is an easy picking for her. She found a nearby window and walked toward it. Took a few glances to see what's in the room.

It was a typical Scientist's room, towers of books and folders that were scattered across the room. She looms around until she finds 3 Pokeballs and a plate with a sandwich on top of a desk. With her hunger driving her to barge in, she has to do what her instincts told her to do.

The window was a slide-window and it was unlocked. She slowly slides the window and allows the cold breeze to enter the room. She steps in and tip-toes towards the sandwich. She heard a few steps at a distance, it was getting louder and louder as if someone was walking towards the door. She leaned under the desk thinking that someone entered the room but the steps slowly faded away.

She took a deep breath and grabbed the sandwich. Took a bite as the flavor of mayo and ham kicked into her mouth. She stood up and observed the Pokeballs on top of the desk. She feels an odd connection in the Pokeball at the center. It feels like it was destiny for them to meet. Mesmerized by this feeling, she took the Pokeball and looked at it.

Her eyes were locked on to this Pokeball and felt nothing else but the connection that was going on until she heard a voice on the other side of the door. She panicked as she thought that she would get caught. She didn't hesitate and stole both the Pokeball and the sandwich on the table. Hops out of the window and closes it before the door opens.

"I told you, Blue and Red would be getting there- '' The old man interrupted as soon as he noticed that there's something missing on the desk.

"Uhhh why are there only two Pokeball on my desk? Didn't I ask for the three starters?" It was none other than Professor Oakido. The famous Pokemon researcher in Kanto. He also noticed that the sandwich on his plate was also gone. Realizing that he won't be able to quickly obtain a new Pokemon, he sighed and decided to go for Plan B.

"Alright. The two kids are going to get their Pokemon tomorrow. Having these two would be problematic. Do you think a Ditto would work to trick them?" Professor Oakido suggested.

Green, on the other hand, ran away from the laboratory after realizing that she just stole something from one of the greatest scientists in the country. She teared up after running away, her sins would one day bite her back and she has to accept all of it.

She looked at the Pokeball and decided to open it to see what Pokemon she stole. She pressed the button and a light beamed out of the Pokeball as a Pokemon popped out. It was a turtle-like Pokemon with a squirrel-like tail, it was a Squirtle.

"Hi there…" She shyly greeted the Pokemon. She lifts her hand and touches the Pokemon's forehead as a sign of assurance that he is safe with her.

"Well, do you have a name?" She asked the Pokemon. It tilted its head like it was confused about what she was talking about. Green realized that this Pokemon is nameless.

"How about I call you, Squirty?" She suggested Squirtle. He nodded as he also likes this name despite being the laziest name ever made.

Green smiled after seeing the excitement from the Pokemon. Humanity is slowly taking roots on her.

Fast forward for 2 years and Green stumbled upon a furios Red. Not long after scamming him from the stickers she sold him earlier.

"Hey You! You scammed me." Red yelled at Green with an angered tone.

"What do you mean, the stickers actually boost your Pokemon's powers….

or you're just bad at Pokemon battling, huh?" She teased the trainer. She knows how to give a decisive lie and teasing about her products made her earn money way before someone pinpoints her scams.

"Well then, do you want an actual demonstration then?" She asked Red to prove to him that the stickers actually work.

"You're asking for a battle huh?" Red realized that she is willing to prove her words, no matter what it will be.

There was a smile on Green's face, it was not satisfaction nor appeasement, just a decisive jester fooling a King.

"Well, I better warn you. I'm the best Pokemon trainer in the land." The smirk on Red's face would infuriate a normal Joe but Green knows that he's just compensating for his secretive losses.

Later on, they fought with their Pokemon in a nearby battle area. Green won the battle with her trusted Blasty the Blastoise while Red lost with his Venusaur. Even though he has the typing advantage, he couldn't comprehend the skillfulness and power that Blastoise showed in the battle. It's as if he was battling a Veteran trainer even though they're in the same age group.

After her victory, Red paid her once more to compensate for his loss. She may have earned money but there's something else she got from Red.

Humanity.

She has never seen a human so energetic, optimistic yet so bastardly a snob with humility. It felt like all of humanity in a single human. She was weirded by this feeling since she mostly sees the naive and foolish side of humans but after seeing this kid, she feels humor. He gave her a chuckle.

Throughout her entire life, she was a very serious person. Life was not fair for her but when she met him, she laughed for a moment. It was a laugh that she always wanted to release, having fun for the first time.

When the two part ways, that laugh embedded her to find herself a new path, a better and a good life. Taking it back and forgetting the past.

2 months later and these two were intertwined once more but this time, they were in a place that wanted them dead, The Silph Co. Building. She was alone on the floor with her biggest rival, Sabrina. The Psychic-type gym leader of Kanto's capital, Saffron City, who's also an executive member of an evil organization named Team Rocket.

"You're nothing more but a scum." Sabrina taunted Green. The trainer's nose bleeds after receiving a powerful kick from the gym leader.

Green is lying on the ground, suffering from a physical beat down from someone who specializes in psychics. It was an embarrassment for her. Coughing out blood to the floor while being painted with purple bruises.

"Well, this is why I hate kids. Nothing more than just annoying pests." Sabrina commented about her desired hate towards children after dissing Green.

"And you… aren't you also a kid? Killing your parents, overthrowing Saffron's mayor and using the city as your plaything." Green insulted Sabrina. She wasn't looking at a human anymore, just a monster with a human look.

The gym leader gives little to no care about the lives of her people, abusing and manipulating her power for her own sake. Green may have committed crimes and fraud but at least she values life, both man and monster.

She knows that Sabrina is just 16, a child that is forced to be and act like an adult. It was unsurprising for her to rebel but kill people? That's worse than a monster that innocently kills another for food.

Sabrina rolled her eyes after hearing those words from the trainer. She received a call from her ear-piece and immediately answered it.

"Mhm?- We're leaving now?- What about the Master Ball?" Her call ended immediately after hearing her last question.

She walks away as if nothing happened and leaves the injured, bleeding and bruised Green lying on the floor, helplessly weeping on the ground.

Alone in a room, with no help or ally nearby. A symbolism of her life.

"Green!" a voice echoed through the room. It came from a familiar voice, Red.

Her eyes slowly close as a boy approaches her body. She lost consciousness afterwards as her weak body slowly shuts down with her heart pumping on.

It took a day for her to regain consciousness and as soon as she woke up, she looked around and noticed that she was in a hospital bed. She looked on her left and saw Red, sleeping on a chair as if he's been waiting for her to wake up.

"Re-?" She interrupts herself as she notices Red's pikachu lying on top of her stomach.

'How long have I been unconscious?' She thought to herself. She heard a yawn nearby, it was Red.

"Hey, you're finally awake…" He said in a calm tone. He was worried about her, not being awake for an entire day after having a massive beatdown from Sabrina. He sat for the entire day, waiting for her to wake up.

"Hey… How long have I been unconscious?" Green asked him as she was curious about how long she has been asleep.

"Well, a day…" Red told her.

"Ah, I see…" Green said in a monotone tone.

That day was the day when Red fully introduced humanity to her. Care, love, passion and empathy, all of it was there. He fed her food, gave her a drink of water and had someone to actually talk to. She slowly opened herself to him, she thought that he would be disgusted by her backstory but there was sadness in Red's face.

He gave her a warm hug and a pat on the back. It was warm and cozy, Green has never felt this before. She embraced him and all of the pain of the past made her tear as regret slowly placed itself on her mind.

Ever since then, Green changed for the better. She changed her clothes, from an all black to something colorful. She wore a white hat with a red line near its brim, a black shirt tucked into a cyan sleeveless top, a red skirt, blue knee socks, white shoes and a yellow handbag.

She changed her name to benefit the change, Leaf. She turned over a new leaf.

A redemption.

6 years later and things have changed drastically. WIth Red being in exile and Blue missing, she was on her own but not alone. She has a family now, not in a blood-term but how she connects to the young boy she's been babysitting. She nearly failed him but was redeemed after all of it and she promised herself to never let her family suffer.

Never again.

"Leaf!" Yoake told Leaf with a shocked and feared tone. She turned around as Dragonite continued to fly towards the Celadon city border and to her surprise, there was a Castform following them.

"Yoake, hold on tight. Dragonite, fly faster." She told her Dragon Pokemon. She wants to get them out quickly before 'she' manages to catch up to them.

"Castform! Use Weather Ball." A strong feminine voice echoed through the air. They turned around and saw it was the Blonde woman. She was at the back of her Altaria, chasing them at catching speed.

"Dragonite, dodge it." She told her Pokemon since she knows that Dragonite cannot attack with them on its back.

The Dragon Pokemon flew to its left, trying to dodge the Weather Ball from the Pokemon. It managed to dodge it but the Weather Ball caught them, as if Castform was trained that whoever tries to dodge its Weather balls, it will catch up to them and hit them absolutely.

They were hit by the Weather Ball and immediately fell from the sky. Dragonite drags them to a nearby roof balcony to ensure their safety. Claudine fought back by throwing a Psychic Ball to the Castform but it dodged it like it was nothing.

Everyone fell to the balcony with Dragonite providing a cushion for both Leaf and Claudine, but not Yoake. He was saved by Claudine's telekinesis but he was injured. His right arm was broken.

He groaned in pain as his right arm swells from the damage. Leaf heard the trainer's groan and immediately pulled out a cloth to alleviate the pain. He was lucky that Leaf knows first-aid.

"Don't move your right arm." She told the trainer as she began to make a swing for Yoake's broken arm. As she made the swing for Yoake, Claudine felt a swell on her right arm but it wasn't as bad as Yoake felt.

"Alright We'll be taking you to the Celadon City gym. I want you to not move your right hand, okay?" Leaf said as she comforted the trainer. He nodded and followed her order.

"We better move." Leaf said as Dragonite stood up once more and immediately prepared for another take off. Yoake, with the help of Claudine, managed to climb to Dragonite's back while Leaf sat behind him.

As they were about to leave the rooftop, Claudine noticed the Castform, watching them. It didn't move an inch as it continued to observe their action, it's as if it was testing something. Claudine formed a Psychic Ball on her back to prepare herself that whenever this Castform tries to do something, she is well prepared to attack.

They left as soon as Leaf alleviated Yoake's broken arm. They flew away from the Iron Heart and headed to the city of blossom, Celadon City.

At a distance, the blonde woman looked at them with binoculars as she took important notes on what happened. The connection between Yoake's broken arm and Claudine's swelling is definitely related to Battle Bond.

"Castform, return." She said as she pointed her Pokeball to the Castform and returned it into its dwelling comfortable ball-shape house and headed back to the HQ to report her findings.

When she returned to the HQ, she returned her Altaria to its Pokeball and to her surprise, the Commander was nowhere to be seen. She looked around in panic in her brain as she thought the commander fell or left his office but her panic quickly disappeared as the elevator door opened.

A girl walked out of the elevator with her blue-eyes radiating out disappointment. The Blonde notices that there's pink goo slithering on the floor as it heads toward the girl.

"Commander?"
