Kapitel 13: The Water Offensive

Yoake stepped on to the white platform, upon which it was plank on top of the pool, where their Pokemon will battle. Misty stood on her platform, which was at the opposite end of Yoake's platform. She decided to stretch her arms, drank from a refreshing sparkling bottle of water, placed it down and stared at Yoake with a competitive degree. Upon which the trainer also looked at her with fiere.

Many of the trainees, who were practicing here earlier, are at a safe distance to observe the tremendous battle that will happen later. Some of them realized that the trainer was the famous Yoake Katsuragi, and they decided to gossip around about his skills in Pokemon training. The whispers of said gossip can be heard to the trainer's ears, he was annoyed by it as he was losing focus whenever he heard these annoying ushers.

The trainer took a deep breath to calm himself,

'You can do this, You've defeated Brock yesterday, and now it will be Misty. You can do it.'

The trainer thought to himself as he inspired himself to carry on and start on the battle.

"When was the last time someone battled me? Probably Three (3) years ago but Hey! Let's see if this Veteran can still show the good old days." Misty stated that she inspires herself as well.

"Let's see about that." Yoake uttered as she smirks at her. The specialist was impressed with the courage of this kid, and so she boosten up herself to the battle.

"Is anyone ready?" A referee asked the two, who were standing at Yoake's right side of the pool.

"You bet." Misty assured, "Yeah." The trainer spoke.

"Challenger Yoake Katsuragi from Pallet City will be facing off against Misty Williams, the water specialist of Cerulean City…."

"POKEMON, GO!" All three synchronously shouted as the two threw their Pokeball to the pool.

"Weepinbell starts it off with Leech seed.", " Staryu, Rapid Spin."

After the ball was thrown, a beam of light appeared and from those lights, the Pokemon showed up in the battlefield. With the orders from their respective trainers, the two Pokemon clashed in this gigantic pool. Weepinbell began to spit out seeds from its mouth to Staryu, but the opposing Pokemon began to spin, and from the corners of the star-shaped Pokemon, those seeds were thrown to the water, leaving Stary unharmed.

'Starting off with Leech seed? Usually people go for Vine whip first but he prefers dealing with longer battles.' Misty thought after observing the first move of the trainer.

'I know that Bellsprout can't make this gym in one ease, so I have to evolve him to his next form just to Blitz this, but it seems that Misty has other plans.' Yoake also thought to himself. He was aware about the difficulty that mainy trainers faced with Misty around six (6) years ago, and he can still see that difficulty until now.

'I also know Kirlia won't be effective against this gym, but in case.' Yoake thought as he slightly looked at Kirlia, then to his third Pokeball, the ball that contains the newly caught Pokemon, Spearow.

"Staryu's rapid spin is the first of his four moves, do you think you can handle it?" Misty taunted.

"We'll see about that! Weepinbell PoisonPowder!", "Knew it, Rapid spin once more!"

Weepinbell coughs up purple smoke, which slowly floats towards Staryu. The mixture of poison and air slowly breeze through the cloud that the smoke formed. Staryu jumped once more and performed the Rapid spin, each turn it made became faster, so fast that the cloud was slowly being pushed back to Weepinbell.

Weepinbell's response was to suck the cloud and spew it back to Staryu as Yoake's plan intended. It did what it did, and spewed the cloud back but this time, Yoake ensured that.

"Weepinbell, VINE WHIP!", "STARYU, use Swift!"

Weepinbell elongated its leafy hands until it formed a whip-like branch, Staryu jumped once more and began to spin in mid-air. From the spin, yellow stars popped out and were thrown to Weepinbell. The clusters of stars were thrown, The whip was the only thing that can defend the Pokemon.

The yellow stairs rained to Weepinbell's platform, it protected itself with the long whip but some stars managed to penetrate and damage the Pokemon.

"Now, STARYU, SWIFT ONCE MORE!",

"WEEPINBELL, USE the WHIP TO SWING YOURSELF!"

Weepinbell looked above and saw there were pipes with gaps above them, which he can use to swing himself with his vines. He elongated his hands one more, and threw it to the ceiling. Misty was confused by this but this didn't bother the star-shaped Pokemon. Staryu jumped and spun, the yellow stars were formed and were thrown to Weepinbell.

In a blitz, the Flycatcher Pokemon managed to get out and flew above long before the rain of swiftly stars hit him. Yoake saw the opportunity of a vulnerable Staryu but it leaves Misty clueless on what the trainer is doing.

"HE'S VULNERABLE! USE OUR BEST MOVE! ENERGY BALL!" Yoake shouted.

"What the!?" The clueless Misty uttered before the Pokemon spews out a green energetic ball from the ceiling, and drops it at a perfect location, on top of a Spinning Staryu.

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Misty shouted as she wasn't aware that the rules of Pokemon changed ever since then, everyone was speechless as they saw the ball being dropped.

The ball collided with the shar-shaped Pokemon's body, thus creating a small explosion, leaving Staryu severely fainted. Everyone was shocked by the immense power that Weepinbell gave as a punishment to Staryu, the referee whistled the whistle to state that…

"Staryu has fainted leaving Weepinbell winning the first round." The referee stated Yoake's first victory against Misty. Even though Misty didn't like what happened, she decided to accept her first defeat.

"Not bad, I can see why Brock easily loses to you." Misty stated as she complimented the trainer while withdrawing the fainted Staryu.

"I'm guessing you prepared in advance huh? Knowing Staryu's and water-type's weaknesses." Misty continued as she guessed the reason for her first defeat and the same goes for Brock's.

"The Internet helped the most." Yoake answered as he recalled the time when he was looking at his phone, and watched some videos about a trainer battling Misty. Him and Ren studied about it, and decided to apply it in their training thus granting him victory in the first round.

"I see, But I hoped that the Internet prepared you for this!" Misty fiercely said as she threw another Pokeball into the pool but this time, a whirl pool slowly formed.

"THEN BRING IT ON!" Yoake said as a tornadic waterspout emerged from the thrown Pokeball. The tornado slowly rose up near the pipe level, Weepinbill, who was looking at the rising tornado fiercely.

And from that tornado, a powerful wind emerged and began to blow everyone, Yoake covered himself with his hand. He saw Kirlia, who was clinging onto his feet as she tried not to be blown by the wind.

'What the hell is that?' Yoake asked himself as the tornado kept on getting stronger but inside of it, two red eyes shined behind the cesspool of water that was spinning through the rising sprout.

"IT'S GYARADOS!" The referee uttered as she recognized this familiar tornado.

A Pokemon that is feared in the deep, and now, that fear will be slapped down to the table between Misty and Yoake, the Pokemon whom even Charizard fears, an ace that Misty have longed to be used to.

The sprout slowly disappears and it reveals the water dragon that roams the deep, a beast that has a length of two school busses, a ferocious appearance that can intimidate anyone who dares to stand its path.

Yoake slowly removed his cover and saw the Pokemon, he smirked as he also longed for this kind of battle, an incomparable battle unlike Onix.

"Game on, Misty Williams."
