Kapitel 55: What is love?
<Maxson POV>
After talking with Rick about what happened inside and how reckless Eric is, I turned my head to look at the angry girl that's being helped by her siblings.
I looked at the older girl and nodded at her, signaling her that she can let her sister come to me.
When she got her freedom once again, the younger girl rushed to be ready to fight whoever stands in her path to Eric.
"What happened with him? Is he ok? Was he hurt?"
"Crazy, maybe, no! " I said while smiling at the worried girl.
"Then why is he sleeping?"
"See that thing near the door? We were attacked by that thing, Eric calls it volatile. While it wouldn't have been hard for us to kill it, the fact that we were in a small place without that much space to maneuver made Eric take the lead and fight the volatile one versus one ."
"I also heard about some explosion. What's that about?"
"I don't know if I should tell you about this myself. You should ask Eric about that thing ok, dear?"
"Fine, can I see him now?"
"I don't see why not? He's fine, well, he's tired, but that's ok in my book. The men took him to a cell to rest."
"Thanks for telling me all of these things."
"You are welcome. Now, go and see your prince."
<Eric POV>
I woke up feeling something on my good arm. At first, I thought that it was just the after-effects of the pain, but when I opened my eyes, I saw my girlfriend crying while looking at me.
When she saw that I was awake, she hugged me while crying even harder.
Seeing her so worried about me, made me happy, but then it hit me. How the fuck should I comfort a crying girl. Thoughts begin to appear in my head, but nothing could help me as I was panicking.
Apparently, my panicked face, made her giggle a little which made me look at her, and with the only move I knew that would work on her, I wiped her eyes with my hand and kissed her.
At first, she was shocked, but after a second or so she starts kissing me back.
After a while, I decided that I should speak with her before we continue our kissing.
"Hey, how's my little bunny doing?"
"ERIC JARL, DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I WAS?"
"I can imagine that mom, but do you know that I was also worried about you? When I found that the farm was overrun by zombies, my world was destroyed and it took me a while before I was up for duty. I missed you Bunny."
"I missed you too, my crazy bear. Now, mister, can you tell me what happened with that arm?"
"Well…you…see…"
"Continue, don't give me that shutter speaking when you tell me the story."
"I was with my group clearing a military bunker and we got attacked by an abomination. I had to watch my men sacrifice their lives for me and even then, I was injured and had to lose an arm to kill that abomination."
"I'm sorry for making you remember that day. I can see that it's hurting you the fact that you lost your arm and your men."
"You are right, bunny, these things hurt and sometimes I would like to forget about them. But I can do that and I have to live with that memory for the rest of my life. Fortunately for me, there are people how to care about me and would surely help me get over it."
"I'm sorry for not being with you when you needed the support of someone, but I swear that I will not let that happen. After all, where would I find another boyfriend like you? At first, it was just attraction, but as I got to know you, my feelings for you start becoming something else entirely and that's when I found that I love you."
I didn't answer her with words. The way I decided to answer Beth's declaration of love was by kissing her. I know that I wasn't the best man for her, heck, I wasn't even an adult, but the pain of being one-hit everyone when the zombies appeared. I was barely knowledgeable on the path of love, but just looking at her makes me shutter sometimes and it makes my heart rate explode, and while I'm not scared or shy to show my love for her openly, I still want for both of us to have the same feelings and that's what she demonstrates me today. She showed me that she's the girl I love.
As we were kissing and feeling each other bodies, we heard a cough coming from the door. Both of us turned our heads to look at the door, and we saw a smiling Rick. Beth quickly got up and stormed out of the cell, while I managed to get up from the bed while starring dagger at Rick.
"C'mon don't be like that. It wasn't intentional and I'm sure that she will go with you at your base, so it ain't a loss. Am I right?"
"Yeah, you are correct. So why did you interrupt us? It seems to be important if you decided to do it."
"There's something you may want to see and it may not be a pretty sight.
