Kapitel 19: Chapter 18: Zenith Magic Test (4/6) Magical Prowess; Mana Pool Ranking
"Next Up! Yuki Yoshimura!"
'That name…! That is certainly the Yuki that I know….' Ryu's eyes went wide. He certainly had a feeling that it was her, and now he was sure. 'But… if she were really Yuki, she would've recognized me when Lilia introduced me—wait, she doesn't know my mother's maiden name, right? Since Lilia introduced me as Ryu Kamiyama and not as Ryu Akatsuki….'
Yuki looked like an elegant noblewoman while walking toward the device. The other students, especially the average joes, started chanting, "Yuki-sama! Goddess Yuki!" as she approached the machine.
'It's still the same as before; Yuki still has tons of fans, especially now that she looks absolutely stunning.' Ryu thought while crossing his arms. He smiled lightly as he thought about how to interact with Yuki later.
She was undoubtedly able to clash with Lilia head-on, just approximating the pressure and aura that exudes from her. Even Emma, Anna, and Nila had beads of sweat on their faces just looking at Yuki's pressure.
'It's like we're facing master herself!' Anna thought, and her emerald-colored eyes slightly trembled. Nila even gulped her own saliva, but Emma was just as cool-headed as ever. After all, being cool-headed can lead you to great heights.
(A/N: Well, sorry, I'm not cool-headed, I'm just like a volcano that's about to erupt, so fuck that.)
Yuki's eyes turned sharp as she jabbed the measurement device with all her strength, and with the same result as Kenji, the machine was also almost broken as well! The meter also showed no responses, so excellent marks!
'As expected, she's powerful. I sure do hope you remember me, Yuki.' Ryu smiled helplessly as the other students were called out after the machine was repaired once more. But after Yuki, the device no longer broke as the group's monsters had already finished taking the Physical Prowess test.

"Are you exhausted already?" Lilia asked as many of the average students were tired after the consecutive tests. After seeing this, Lilia simply laughed as she said, "Well, don't worry, there are only two more tests left. The Magical Prowess Test and the Battle Prowess Test! Well then, let's waste no further time and begin the Magical Prowess test!"
"Each student will be called out by their name, and you shall place your hand on the Mana Pool Measurement Device. You just have to inject a little bit of your mana to complete the test." Lilia said and flicked her finger, causing a crystal ball on a stone pedestal to erupt from the ground.
Each time a student was called, they would place their hand on the crystal ball and inject a drop of mana into it, causing it to glow brightly.
As each student basically had a different colored light, Lilia began to explain what the light indicated. "Each person has a different amount of space in their mana pool, and the light indicates the approximate amount. Of course, it's not the exact amount since our magical technology has not reached that far yet."
"It's separated into four ranks, Low, Average, High, Bestowed. The first rank of Low consists of White and Gray, indicating that you have a below-average amount of space to accommodate mana."
"The Average Rank consists of Green, Yellow, and Orange. Your mana pool is higher in the ascending order of what I've said. If your color is green, it means your mana pool has a space that can accommodate a normal amount of mana found in most of the people on the planet."
"The High Rank consists of Red, Blue, and Purple. It means your mana pool can fit in at least double or triple the amount of mana an ordinary person can have! You can basically contend with most of the high-ranking heroes with this amount of mana."
"And lastly, the Bestowed Rank. It consists of Gold, Crimson, and Black. It means that your mana pool is so immense that it's as if you were bestowed blessings from a God. None has reached this color since five years ago, so let's see if there's one among this group today!"
Then, Nila's name was called. She immediately walked towards the crystal ball happily and rested her palm on it. With a slight nudge of her mana, the crystal started to glow brightly with the color red. The first person to reach the High Rank in this batch of students!
Emma was next, and she confidently approached the crystal ball and injected a drop of mana into it. The crystal then hazily glowed blue, showing that she just barely reached the High-Rank blue-category mana pool.
Anna also walked with a huge smile on her face as she had already expected great results for herself since she was the best magic user among the three of them. She injected her mana into the ball, and it brightly glowed blue!
Aoi was a bit scared that her mana pool would be so low since she had never known how vast her mana pool was. Ryu, who was right after Hina, was just smiling widely, knowing how huge Aoi's mana capacity is, and was prepared for the shock that both of his siblings would give to Lilia.
After she injected her mana into it, the crystal immediately shone brightly. It almost looked like the crystal ball was a flashbang as it glowed purple like a shining star. Nila, Emma, and Anna were shocked! Especially Lilia, who thought in her head, 'Ryu and his siblings are just monsters, huh….'
Next was Hina. She was pretty nervous as well, but she wanted to at least be able to reach the bare minimum so that she could be in the same class as her Onii-chan. She then puffed some air and walked dignifiedly towards the crystal ball.
The crystal ball slightly shook as it glowed a dark violet color. Ryu grinned widely while Lilia's eyes were wide open; she was shocked as she had never thought that Hina had this much mana capacity. 'What the hell… She's one step away from Bestowed Rank…! Although her mana control isn't that good, having that much mana is unbelievably amazing.
Hina's smile was through the roof while Ryu sent a thumbs up to her.
Next was Ryu. He just smiled as he looked over at Kenji, who tried to suppress him earlier with his aura, and Ryu decided to show him his real strength. He then rested his palm on the crystal ball and closed his eyes slightly as his irises turned golden.
Lilia, who was sitting beside Chiyo, lightly turned to look at Chiyo as she said, "Watch how strong Ryu is; he'll probably surpass the person who had reached black five years ago! Hehehe."
"Let's see then. It's already impressive if he reaches the Bestowed Rank."
The crystal ball started to glow in different colors and alternated among the three colors, golden, crimson, and black. The students and even the professors were gobsmacked by the shock. "A-a Bestowed rank! It's a bestowed rank!"
The girls who were among the students were shouting as they shouted his name, "Ahh~! Ryu-sama~!!!"
"A-amazing!!" Some of the professors said while Lilia smiled widely. Even Chiyo, who had expected this outcome, was still a bit shocked. "Will he really be able to beat that person?"
"I bet my love life and my life on it!" Lilia spoke proudly, causing the shocked Chiyo to smile awkwardly, saying, "Please don't bet your love life; I'd rather not take it."
The ball then slowly stopped and emitted a black color heavily. Chiyo was sure of it; he undoubtedly surpassed that person! The place became silent as the shock froze them in their places. They never thought that he would get the highest rank among all, the black category of the Bestowed Rank!
After a few seconds, the people erupted into cheers as Lilia shouted excitedly, "After five years! The Grandis Magic Academy has finally gotten another Bestowed Rank Magic User! Ryu Kamiyama!"
Ryu just awkwardly smiled while looking at Lilia as he thought, 'You didn't have to make the cheers even louder; my ears hurt.' He could've just sent a telepathic message to Lilia, but he decided not to do so.
After the commotion settled down, the test continued. Kenji was next, and when he injected his mana, it was colored red-orange. Finally, after Kenji was Elina, she reached a hazy blue color, meaning that her magical capacity was the same as Emma's.
Next was Toshiro. He was just smiling the same as before as the crystal ball glowed red with his mana. After that was Mizuki, who reached a stunning Blue Violet color which means she almost reached the purple category. Right after Mizuki was Kasumi, the crystal glowed bright red as she injected her mana into it.
'All of them pretty much are on the level of the three. It all depends now if the five are as good at battling as the three since Lilia and I trained them personally.' Ryu turned his head towards the five.
After a few more students, it was finally Yuki's turn. Ryu's eyes were sharped as he observed Yuki. 'I bet she's on the Bestowed category as Lilia is on the Bestowed Rank as well when she tested her mana pool privately a few days ago.'
Yuki then slowly approached the crystal ball, and when she rested her palm and injected her mana, it glowed brightly once more. The crowd went silent as, once again, a person reached the Bestowed rank since the crystal ball emitted three different colors repeatedly. Then, it finally stopped on the golden color.
"Another Bestowed Rank!!!"
