The old professor then snapped his fingers, and some of the targets that were destroyed by the phoenix's flame were restored immediately. The phoenix also came back to Aoi's palms, and a voice then whispered to her telepathically. [Little Girl, summon me next time properly. I and thou shall meet again. Might I ask for thy name? ]
[My name is Aoi.]
[Thy name, I shall remember. Till we meet again!] Aoi nodded, and the phoenix dissipated into nothingness. The earring she wore suddenly turned red, and the gem in it became as red as a ruby.
The following person was Hina. She looked so excited for her sister as she saw that she had a phoenix. She really wanted to have the same wow factor on her. She jumped with a ^w^ face while she said, "My turn~!"
Remembering what her older brother said, she focused on herself and stared at her hand. Water in the form of a cone appeared on her hand, and it hovered lightly. With all her might, she threw the water cone toward the target dummy, but unfortunately, she only dealt a few damages that were better than average.
Seeing that, Hina was devastated, and her eyes turned dark. Ryu tried to comfort her beloved younger sister, but she squatted down and hugged her knees. Ryu approached her and said, "Don't be too sad; water magic might not be your specialty; try another element. You can use three elements, right?"
Hina's eyes then turned bright as she nodded while she stood up and immediately aimed toward the target. She then conjured spheres made out of earth magic and shot them towards the target, but the ending was the same.
This made her eyes turn darker than before as she tried one more time, this time wind magic. The mana particles beside her churned as she imaged with blades appearing within her sides. After that, she threw out the wind blades, and this time, she was able to slice the target cleanly.
Hina was overjoyed, causing Ryu to smile as apparently, it was his time to shine. He then thought of what spell he could use and decided on using the same thing Ryu used when he met Lilia unconsciously. Yes, those black spheres that seem to absorb everything like a mini black hole. It was made of space magic, and he decided to use it in a weaker form.
A few black spheres appeared with a flick of his finger, giving off immense pressure. The professors, who were just sitting unimpressed, suddenly jolted up from their seats as they exclaimed, "Offensive space magic!?"
Lilia, the one who personally experienced the terror of these black spheres, instinctively backed away, causing her to lean on the backrest of her chair. Seeing that, Chiyo couldn't help but be curious about why Lilia instinctively launched herself away.
Ryu pointed at the target, and the black spheres rushed towards the dummy. Anything the black spheres touched completely vanished. The target dummy was left with multiple large holes as it became nothingness as well.
The whole place was silent as the black spheres' pressure was immense. Their eyes were still while staring at Ryu, but soon, one of the professors interrupted and shouted, "Next student, begin!"
The tension dissipated as the next student began conjuring his spell, and contrary to what Ryu thought, the student actually did it chantless! Ryu was a bit amazed and happy, 'Finally! Someone with common sense!'
That person was incredibly strong as well, though, only a tad bit more powerful than Hina. That was the same as the other students who came in after that student. They were only a tad bit more powerful than Hina, but some of them were almost on Nila, Anna, and Emma's level.
Ryu had zero expectations, but the students actually exceeded his expectations! Quite a shock!
Ryu turned to look at the people similar in power to Lilia's disciples and took note of their appearance since he still didn't know their names.
There were five people who could probably contend against Emma, Anna, and Lilia. One was a rugged man. He had a big build and a stoic face. He was perhaps an athlete who contended in a few weightlifting competitions. Ryu thought, 'He's probably half-orc, albeit him having a different skin color from regular half-orcs just cuz of his fangs.'
The next was a woman of the dragon race, which was already impressive alone. She had muted blue hair and purple-pink eyes, which seemed to glow, especially if it was night. She also had a giant flower on her hair, making her almost emotionless face quite cute. She also carried around a beautiful-looking spear.
The third one was a slit-eyes man, which ultimately led to him having a cunning aura. His body was not too thin nor too thick, and he had luscious medium-length blonde hair. He looked intellectual and looked as if he could calculate everything in mere seconds.
Seeing the hair, Ryu couldn't help but sigh as he thought, 'This guy takes care of his hair more than Nila.'
The fourth was a doll-looking girl with a chonky snowy owl on her shoulder. She wore a luxurious priestess-looking robe that made her seem more like a doll than anything else. Her eyes had a bluish-green color as she blinked lightly, seeing that Ryu was observing her.
The last one was of the beastmen race. And, of course, it was a strong-looking woman. She looked like she was half jaguar from the aggressive aura she had. Her ears lightly twitched,
noticing something and her eyes immediately shifted to where she felt something wrong, her blonde hair swaying along her head.
Ryu couldn't help but think, 'The last two are impressive; they immediately noticed my observation.'
After seeing them, he proceeded to look at the current student who was doing the test. Seeing who the person was, his eyes twitch lightly. It was Yuki. Ryu still doesn't know if she was the Yuki he knew or not, and he really wants to find out. 'Maybe I'll find out from her name if she gets introduced later.'
Yuki, who was closing her eyes, opened them. She held out her palm, and coldness erupted everywhere with a blow on it. Ryu's eyes squinted as he never thought someone would even compare to Lilia's current power. But Yuki, she's definitely on Lilia's level.
An ice shard slowly formed and floated along Yuki's palm, causing a slight frost to appear on her hand. The fragment was immediately sent flying towards the target with a slight push. But instead of just penetrating the target, a massive wall of ice shards was formed along the shard's trail.
A breeze of cold wind blew, seemingly freezing everyone in their places from the extreme cold. The professors couldn't help but stand up, and even Lilia was flabbergasted. 'She's probably as strong as me; what a talent!' Lilia screamed internally.
After that, a few more students barely passed the threshold of being stronger than Hina, as most of them were weaker than Hina by a large margin. After all of the students finished attacking their targets, the first and second tests concluded.
"Third test, Mana Control!" Lilia once more shouted. She then flicked her fingers, and one mechanism appeared in front of each student. It was slightly complex as it was a tiny robotic mechanism that only ran when powered meticulously with mana.
"We require you, students, to be able to make the mechanism in front of you run by manipulating your mana unto it. Remember, this is a mechanism; you can't just dump all your mana in because it WILL explode." Lilia warned the students adequately.
"And the explosion will be a lot more severe than you think. I don't mean physical explosion, but it can explode the mana particles you manipulate, leading to the implosion of your own mana. Oh, and if it does explode, you fail, but we will treat you since Professor Hironaka is here with us." Lilia seemed to be taunting the students to scare them, and it indeed worked.
Some of the students couldn't help but gulp their saliva, but Ryu was calm. Although Lilia phrased it like that, it wasn't that serious as it can be treated by injecting mana unto the person affected. At best, it can leave you unconscious.
Though, it's pretty similar to the severe thing called 'Mana Deprivation' where you entirely run out of mana and can get you into a state of 'Mana Loss,' which means you can't function properly. It can also leave you in a comatose state if you can't immediately get a stable supply of mana injected into you.
Chiyo couldn't help giggle right beside Lilia as she said, "You didn't have to scare the students, you know, hahaha."
"Hahaha, I just want them to be alert, if they fail, the students can't get into the academy, and besides, even if they can only run it for a second, they can pass the test. Strength isn't solely about being able to manipulate your mana incredibly concisely." Lilia told Chiyo with a small smile.
"All of you shall do it immediately! Start!" Lilia shouted aloud once more.
The students immediately got to work and concisely pushed mana into the mechanism. For Ryu, though, this was nothing but a trivial task. His speed was immaculate as he had already finished circulating his mana into the mechanism, causing it to move precisely.
After Ryu, Yuki immediately finished, and the trio of girls, Emma, Anna, and Nila, followed. They completed the test without a hitch. After that were the five people who could contend with the trio.
Soon some of the other students could run it for a second, and they were highly disappointed and couldn't help but be depressed as they fell down to the ground. Some students, though, for example, the first guy who chanted like an anime character with no use in his life, failed the test.
The mechanism they meticulously tried to inject their mana exploded. With only whites left in their eyes, they collapsed to the ground, completely unconscious, which scared many of the students. Some shook lightly after feeling a tingle in their spine and quietly praised themselves for at least being able to make the machine move for a second
"All of those who ran the machine for at least can move the next test! Professor, can you tend to the students who have collapsed?" Lilia said with a smile as she turned around to face Chiyo.
Chiyo just smiled as she said, "Jeez, look at how frightened most of the students are. Ah, Professor Chikafuji, can you make a path to the platform?" She turned to look at the professor who made the platform.
The Professor with the surname of Chikafuji then nodded as he folded his hands together and then clasped them, causing a sudden shake of the earth to happen as a staircase was completely built to the student's platform.
"Time to treat some patients then," Chiyo said with a light smile.

Here's a new chapter! Thanks for the support, btw, and I'll try my best to write quality chapters. My brain is absolutely hurting from studying so much, so the few recent chapters should've been a dump xD.
Oh, and if you enjoyed it, please do leave a review! It means a lot to me so that my book can be known by other people and make them give it a try, even if they don't like it, LOL.
See you guys again next week!
