Kapitel 532: Tenacity Stronger Than Undead

When Akiol launched the {Hyperburst}, he found out that the undead are incapable of restoring any pieces of their body destroyed to a fine degree or erased. By connection that would make Givale, the dragon capable of erasing space, one of the few tools they had to permanently rid of any undead.

However, Akiol made it clear she wasn't to entirely erase any undead just yet. The moment the undead realize that they had a tool that could bypass the Territory, she would immediately be swarmed and possibly killed. Thus also knocking out Akiol and Mira from the fight. It would be a trade of fighters, one Akiol wanted to avoid.

Thus when he sent Givale to handle the flying enemies he kept one rule in her mind: "Do not erase them entirely."

This frustrated her to no end! Why must she hold back her powerful magic?! If she was forced to fight the horde of flying enemies that could endlessly revive, it would only be a matter of time until she was overwhelmed! Even with Ryolu assisting, this was clearly just to buy time!

Yes! It was to buy time! Torch's Mechanical army was holding off reinforcements, and the dragons were to hold off air support of the undead army! This was all they could do until someone found a solution to the Territory!

Spinning through several gargoyles Givale suddenly burst open her wings and pushed the space around her. A large area in the sky suddenly cleared as she made her presence known. The bats swirled into a tornado and covered the entrance of the vampire. Sorian stared down the dragon, "To think they managed to request the help of two dragons. If one were Fourth Stage I would've been fearful."

"You should fear now!", Givale corrected.

Ryolu, with Opportunity riding above, agreed with a roar, "To think us apex beings keep being looked down upon!"

Sorian moved his hands behind his back and shook his head, "I do not fear you, because I do not fear death."

"Let's see how long that lasts!", Givale flapped her wings and closed the distance.

Sorian lifted a hand calmly and formed several blood spikes, "How long will you?"

He shot them forward only to watch them fail to pierce the spacial barrier Givale had formed. Before he could reacted he found his body gripped between her teeth, her powerful jaws facing no resistance. Ripping him about she tossed him into the air. Ryolu caught the flying Sorian and poison seeped through her jaws and infected the wounds. Tossing him into the air left Opportunity to act. Jumping off of Ryolu's back she raised both her axes behind her. The golden avatar manifested as she swung downwards, the two axes cleaving into Sorian and sending him spiraling into the ground.

After landing back on Ryolu, Opportunity glanced towards the falling Sorian and whistled, "Big talk, no action!"

"He's not our main goal.", Ryolu warned.

"Of course not."

Manifesting the avatar's arms Opportunity began to carve through the gargoyles and bats. Ryolu and Givale soared about, utilizing their magic to destroy as many of them as they could. Givale was forced to use her space as bombs, making small projectiles that expanded the space on contact violently, very similarly to how Stars' [Repulse] works. She kept this bit of information silent from Stars. After all it was inspired by his abilities.

The bats began to swirl again and Sorian appeared again, his face twisted. Just as he was about to attack with blood once again Givale snagged him out of the sky and ripped him apart. Throwing him back towards the ground. He flipped about before landing, his wounds swirling with blood before slowly being mended by the Territory.

He did not return to the sky this time, instead he looked upwards. Holding various qualms within his heart he decided to leave the air reinforcements and instead find a few victims. Dashing away towards the Guilds he only made it a few steps before a Dragon appeared in his way. Glistening with purple scales, a sight he didn't appreciate very much.

Outstretching her jaws Givale snapped Sorian and flew him upwards. With fury Sorian roared, "I will not be toyed with!"

Turning into a swirling mass of blood he escaped the jaws of Givale and went to return to his solid state. However try as he might he could not make his blood gather again to form his body. As if there was an invisible barrier preventing him. Givale snorted with humor, "If you cannot die, I will imprison you."

Teleporting back upwards Givale continued to destroy the mass of enemies. The spacial barrier she formed around Sorian was the result of adding her magic whenever she bit him. If she had tried it without infecting him first, then the result wouldn't have imprisoned him. This was the reason why she couldn't create a solid wall of space to prevent any of the gargoyles or bats from escaping. A tactic like this could only work against mindless enemies like the Chimeras. High level creatures or individuals with enough sentience could bypass this sort of barrier with enough effort or technique.

Givale came to realization with her spars against Akiol and Mira. Often times Akiol would flicker just out of her affected area, or manage to sever the space she controlled. While Mira's strength simply allowed him to walk through the solid space as if it never existed. Because of this she was determined to find other ways to utilize her magic. Upon seeing Ryolu poison Sorian through her teeth, it gave Givale the idea to do the same.

A lesser form of Dragon's breath! Instead of a mass destruction attack, it subtly infected the mana within the victim's body with the Dragon's magic. Depending on the type of magic a Dragon had, the effects would vary!

As Givale destroyed the enemies she occasionally bit one to imprison them in space. This was a slow process, but was essentially a solution to their constant rise. As more enemies became unable to move, the pressure began to subside. Ryolu was also performing a similar tactic. Much like the burning method the Guilds were using she was inflicting a deadly amount of poison to keep wearing away at the gargoyle's body preventing it from fully reviving. This heavily acidic poison didn't require Ryolu to directly infect their bodies, and just simply splashing it on already defeated gargoyles proved to be enough.

Thus the teamwork of Opportunity and Ryolu was figured out! Using her avatar she would destroy and knock down the gargoyles while Ryolu layered them with her acidic poison. The two would occasionally sneak a glance at Givale to see how she was performing. However they found their worries pointless. If anything, Givale was thriving!

Several small spheres constantly manifested around Givale. They fired out an incredible rate in all directions. Each one made contact with an enemy and exploded, sending them spiraling out of the sky. Occasionally she would snatch a falling enemy in her jaws and throw them towards the ground. Opportunity grinned, "If she keeps this up, you're going to be outshined by your own daughter!"

Ryolu snorted, "Why wouldn't I want that? However, this level isn't enough to outperform me."

"So you say!"

Givale leapt off of Ryolu's back and manifested the avatar. This time with the torso body. Gripping her axes she spun around, golden energy swirling around her. It kicked up a swirling inferno of energy and began to gather the flying enemies together towards the center. Understanding Opportunity's intention Ryolu kicked up speed and flew to the top of the vortex. The golden avatar flickered out of existence and Opportunity quickly dashed away.

Opening her jaws Ryolu let forth a powerful dragon's breath towards the gathered enemies. The acidic poison ate through the stone of the gargoyles and the bats stood even less of a chance. Opportunity hovered on mana and smiled, "Now this is more like it!"

The poison mess on the floor prevented any of the flying enemies from fully recovering. The moment their bodies recovered enough to move the poison would tear them almost immediately. Now with their objective complete Opportunity looked towards the battlefield. The Guilds were almost entirely recovered, and the initial force of the undead were facing similar circumstances. Continuing like this meant progress!

For once during the fight against the undead, things were looking up! The tenacity of the players was not losing out to the undead's constant rising!

Guild players began to call out in victory. Very rapidly the situation began to snowball. As more players finished off and burnt the undead bodies they were able to help their brothers and sisters. Yielya watched all of this first hand and nodded. Although the tactic was a temporary solution, it was working! Because of this she had no complaints!

The power of their Third Stages outpowered the undead's Third Stages. Their players fought even more viciously than the unyielding undead! This was the might of their force!

Now the tides were in their favor!
