A ring of Azure flame spread out as Wrock launched upwards. Wings of Azure spread from his back and accelerated his ascent. In a moment he reached the Chimera and began to move his fists. It almost looked like it was dramatically slow, no doubt a trick of the eyes! However that was just for a second!
{Spirit of the Phoenix: Wing Beat}!
Blow after blow! Wrock delivered a flurry of attacks onto the Chimera, each hit making it rise higher and higher! In just a few seconds they reached the ceiling, but Wrock's flurry of blows did not stop!
"I was worried! What was I going to do against your ceaseless regeneration? But such thoughts are nonsense! What if there isn't a thing you can regenerate from? Can you be born again if there isn't a drop of blood remaining?!"
The ground crumbled and Wrock began to go beyond the ceiling. Like a drill through dirt he pushed the Chimera through the ground towards the surface! Layers of stone, rock, dirt, and roots passed by until they reached the surface!
Wrock's flurry stopped and Spirit ignited at his foot. Accelerating it he kicked upwards while forming a circle.
{Spirit of the Phoenix: Wheel of Reincarnation}!
The Chimera cried in vain as it was sent higher into the sky, "Remove-!"
Wrock's feet gently touched the ground as the wings on his back doubled in size, "If the Moon is a mirror of the sun, then if you get closer to it the effects should work again right? Not that you'll even be existing anymore by the time you get there!"
The wings on his back flapped once and he launched towards the Chimera. His speed even greater from the wings. Spirit ignited and a trail of Azure flames followed his path.
{Arising of the Phoenix: . . .}!
Wrock kneed the Chimera with a force greater than anything he had put out. Azure flame condensed to the point where it no longer looked like flame, but rather neon lights! Several small lights formed around Wrock, like spectators to watch this one moment!
{Life's Judgement}!
The weight of one's soul! An afterlife where one's deeds as a being is weighed, and the results will determine your afterlife! An ample comparison would be the Egyptian's version. Where Anubis weighed their heart against the feather of Ma'at.
An Azure Phoenix manifested behind Wrock, its wings spread wide. Beady eyes focused onto the Chimera, as if weighing the worth of the creature. Wrock grit his teeth and released all of his momentum and force through his knee, which caused a dramatic pillar of Spirit to form and launch the Chimera higher. The pillar of Spirit tore through it as it ascended, each passing moment more of its body being burnt to nothing.
Eventually the pillar faded, and Wrock landed lightly onto the ground. Once every speck of Spirit disappeared he nodded in a pleased manner. For the Chimera had been obliterated entirely.
Looking at the hole he made he commented, "So much for there being no way to escape. But then again I think the System has been proven wrong a few times."
Wrock then pondered, "Will they be okay? No they should be fine, I rendered a majority of the Chimera to be useless. Additionally everyone else is down there. . . I could help Jarvis out too since I have no idea what's over there."
He shook his head, "They should have it, I can't imagine there being much they could lose to. Instead. . ."
His focus shifted towards an entirely different direction. A faint smile appeared on his face, "That's far too suspicious to leave alone."
~ ~ ~
Jarvis was alarmed, the speed and power of this Chimera was no joke. Gear was no longer in sight, and while the majority of the Chimera were handled there's still more on the way.
Bo dashed towards the Chimera with talons outstretched. Ducking under the talons the Chimera swung upwards towards Bo. Whitelash leapt forward and latched onto the Chimera, but failed to pin it down.
His muscles tensed trying to fight, but Whitelash was lifted off the ground and thrown aside. The Chimera stomped the ground, causing the wall to heavily crack. As if this was a cue the remaining Chimeras swarmed the weakened section of the wall. The magma formed by Guarton only managed to slow some of them, using their bodies they created a solid surface. With their regeneration the heat provided no issue as well.
Acting quickly the Sages mounted an offensive against the Perfected Chimera. Roots scrambled across the wall to make a temporary fix to the damage caused. Thunder and wind launched forward. The Chimera had no issue dealing with the wind projectiles, and the lightning was ignored due to it not causing enough damage.
Water formed into small droplets and shot forward like bullets. Yet despite the Chimera's thin frame it proved to be incredibly sturdy. Instead of piercing through like Neorvil intended, the water droplets merely fell apart upon making contact.
To her surprise and disgust the water that made contact was immediately covered in Heresy, and blocked her Authority. Thus she quickly retracted the roots she planned to use in fear of losing control of them. Guarton caused several earthen spikes to launch forward and impale the Chimera, but they were shattered as they made it about halfway.
Whitelash appeared over the wall, having recovered from being previously thrown. Claws outstretched he latched onto one of its arms. Extreok followed and clamped her jaws onto the other arm of the Chimera. The two massive beasts failed to pin it as the Chimera managed to fling them off. Extreok did not let this go and blasted the Chimera was a gust of powerful wind.
Being flung off the wall the Chimera quickly righted itself. Yet the wall suddenly opened up and reached out. Roots shot forth and encompassed the Chimera. Swallowing the Chimera the section of the wall turned into a ball and rose upwards.
Guarton thumped his tail and the ball of earth ignited into a flame. The earth turned red with heat and Neorvil raised a wing. A larger ball of water covered the earthen ball and cooled it, solidifying it into stone. Wind formed a vortex to hold the ball and raise it higher. With a swish of his tail Guarton formed a massive pit in the earth, "Be buried away foul Heretic!"
Extreok made the vortex of wind throw the ball into the massive bit, and the earth spun to completely bury it under. Neorvil caused several trees to sprout, their roots solidifying the earth underneath them.
Bo and To gathered up the remaining army of Chimeras and turned them into a golden dust. Much to Jarvis' relief. With the issue solved Jarvis quickly ordered, "We have to check up on Gear! Make sure there's no missed Chimera!"
Jarvis was about to leap off the wall when the ground suddenly shook. The ground split apart and a figure launched from the earth's wound. Jarvis found his heart sinking, "It's fine?"
Guarton warned, "That was supposed to hold it until we found the source, but it seems we don't get such luck. Watch yourself!"
"All right, then we'll-"
Jarvis did not get to finish his sentence. The Chimera appeared next to him and swung its morningstar-like hands. Jarvis, although capable of handling your average Joe, was not a close ranged fighter. Moreover he did not hold any weapon meant for self defense. In this moment, where the Chimera moved faster than it had before, he was helpless to what was going to happen next.
It first hit his arm, the bones shattering without a hint of resistance. As his arm slammed into his body his ribs felt the continuation of the force. An unknown amount of damage occurred in his chest as he was lifted from his feet and thrown across the forest.
Skimming over the treetops Jarvis still acted. His body was barely responding, but he reached towards his book. With such a threat he needed someone, anyone to help. Or buy enough time!
The pages flipped in the wind, making it difficult to land on a single page. He then crashed into a treetop and felt his momentum being slowed by the shattering of branches. Crashing hard to the ground he slid a bit before resting at the bottom of a tree. The damage he took was too severe to act any further.
His hands fell limp as he rested against the stump. Then so did the rest of his body shortly later. As he was losing consciousness he worried deeply for the tames left alone. He did not wish for any of them to die. Not again. In this moment however, he was helpless.
