Kapitel 446: What Fearsome Magic
A shockwave passed through everything, even the barrier designed by the Arena. Each of the Province Head's narrowed their eyes, several Fourth Stages moved quickly and added additional protection for everyone.
The World Law, as named by Kan'na, a mysterious flow that kept things in order. It also intervened when she tampered with time against Perina. After that encounter it made her wonder what other rules could be messed with, and what results would it bring?
Thus the Dimensional Fracture was born, by creating a hole in their current dimension she would force the World Law to act quickly. As it forcefully closed it a shockwave of the resulting energy would burst forth, and would pass through most magic. This force was only dangerous to those who were close by it, for the majority of the energy went towards something else.
In the Arena everything seemed cracked. Like looking into broken mirror. This was the main goal! Much like the powerful punching technique displayed by Igneel, this affected the "space" inside the Arena! Rather than it warping the space, this one cracked it. The outcome of this effect wasn't as harmful as Igneel's attack, but it did make it heavily disorienting for anyone in its range.
Heave grasped his helmet and steadied his feet, "What fearsome magic, to be capable of something like this at a mere Second Stage. I can see why Nine had willingly forfeit."
Kan'na coughed violently, "Yeah okay, that one was on me."
Although she had quickly put up a few defenses, it was far from enough to protect against the consequence from tearing a hole through the dimension. However this was calculated! Now that the tear was fixed the space was now cracked. With both perceptions being horribly affected Kan'na had successfully bought the time she desired!
Although her mana sense was crippled due to the cracked space, her experience in creating magic circles was enough to get by. At her hand several magic circles formed and slowly floated towards the ground. Once she finished with those spells she noticed her senses slowly returning, for the cracked space was mending quickly.
She eyed her MP and sighed, it seemed like she couldn't afford to stall much longer. The level of spells she needed to create would require far more MP than she could afford. Therefor it was time to use a few ace cards. . .
Spending the last bit of her MP she released a flurry of Skills!

[Ten-Point Magic Zone Formation]!
[The Knowledgeable's Robe]!!
Mana swarmed around her and burst, pushing away the dark miasma created by Heave. Her MP regeneration skyrocketed and mana swirled towards her like opening a drain to a pool. A massive robe created by magic circles formed and covered her body. A small ten-point formation formed at her feet, and a ring of magic circles formed around her and spun slowly.
Perhaps due to the sudden violent shift in mana the space was mended at a much faster rate. Kan'na was quick to notice this and made a mental note for later.
Lifting her hand she created a Magic Concatenation and sent it towards the sky. Casually waving an arm hundreds of magic circles formed behind her, they all spun slowly while awaiting further command. As the space returned to normal Kan'na noticed Heave covered in the dark miasma. It clung to his armor like an adhesive. His maul increased in size due to how much clung to it. Yet he did not seem to mind, for it was intentional.
Raising his maul he spoke with his deep voice, "Your magic is pointless now, it shall all be corroded beyond recognition."
Kan'na merely smiled and fired off the hundreds of magic circles. Attacks of various elements bombarded Heave. The dark miasma reacted and ate away at the various spells, but Heave had to personally fight against a few of them. While the dark energy was capable corroding spells it was still slow in that process.
The barrier provided by [Ten-Point Magic Zone Formation] was also being corroded by the energy. Once that disappeared so would the Formation. Kan'na didn't want for this to happen, but it wasn't realistic to think that it would remain for the entirety of the fight. It was best to use its advantages now while it still lasted!
Heave pushed against the ground and leapt through the air, "Enough!"
With a swing of his maul a wave of the dark energy leapt forth and consumed the remaining spells. Slamming it against the barrier provided by [Ten-Point Magic Zone Formation] he smashed it to pieces with a single hit! Kan'na raised a hand and blocked the blow with a magic circle, but this rapidly proved to be a terrible plan.
The dark energy ate away at it so fast she was unable to create any additional forms of protection. Heave's maul smashed against her hand and caused her arm to break. Gritting her teeth she formed another magic circle in her other palm, but Heave was a step quicker. His maul slammed into her torso and caused heavy damage.
Kan'na didn't fight against the blow, instead she used the hit to create some distance via the knockback. It still hurt though, that single blow most likely crushed her ribs. Additionally since she never had a lot of defense the attack nearly crippled her movement. Her HP dropped to a third almost instantly!
With one of her arms turned useless she now had a single hand to properly form magic circles. While she could still channel mana through her broken arm, it wouldn't be the smartest of choices. Although she wasn't completely out of options.
Forming a small magic circle she placed it on the side of her broken arm, it extended into even smaller magic circles against it and spread across the length of her arm. The sounds of something popping could be heard as her arm began to straighten. She winced through the pain but now that it was straightened she was able to continue creating magic circles.
Heave swung his maul across the ground and swung upwards. A wave of the dark miasma heading towards Kan'na. Raising her good arm she formed a quick magic circle. A powerful blast pierced through the miasma and exploded, causing it to scatter.
Heave slammed his maul against the ground, "It's too late, my domain has been set!"
Kan'na noticed the dark miasma was growing thicker by the second, but now it seemed to condense into a thick layer covering the ground. She frowned as she felt the robe created by magic circles around her start to fade. It seemed the corrosion only grew stronger.
Eyeing the few remaining magic circles she created she then lifted her arms, "Let's see this domain of yours then."
Heave watched in interest, although his energy was a direct counter to those who relied on mana he noticed a lack of fear in the eyes of Kan'na. The only thing he could recognize was determination, although there seemed to be something else mixed within.
That left him but one question: what was she determined for? There was no reason for her to fight so hard for the South. Was it purely to improve? He almost immediately discarded that idea, this determination wasn't the same as those who continued to improve themselves.
No, this was the determination of someone who desired to live up to an expectation.
