"Are you not going to help them?"
Akiol rose an eyebrow and looked back at Terwin, "If they need it, but they seem to be handling it well."
"Please keep a lookout then, the boss is going to turn Berserk soon."
"Roger that."
Givale slid under an incoming attack and shot an arrow in return. The Warden snatched it and consumed it with his flame. Firing off three more arrows she retreated several steps back. The Warden easily consumed these as well. Yet upon consuming the third arrow his knees buckled.
Mira was behind him! He had recovered his control over his body and used his axe to cripple the Warden's leg. Givale used this opportunity and jump forward, a purplish-blue magic gathering at her fist. Punching forward she shouted, "Blast away!"
BOOM-!
The Warden crashed into a faraway wall and the magic that stuck to his chest exploded. Erasing a large chunk of his body, and a massive portion of the wall. Givale gathered two small balls of her magic and threw them towards the Warden's location, "Take these too!"
They both exploded upon contact. The Warden was nowhere to be seen. Givale dusted off her palms with a satisfied expression, "My magic is superior."
"Foul Prisoners, you have written your death sentence! No longer shall I escort you to your cell. Rather, I'll shove you into the pit of hell!"
Jarvis, who was leaning against the wall with the Players, snorted, "He became a poet."
Loni watched with a quizzical look, "The magic feels funny here."
"Oh?"
"It's. . . tainted."
"This place is quite a horrid prison."
"No, not like that.", Loni's eyes clouded for a moment before shaking her head, "I can't describe it."
"Keep an eye on it, just in case something happens."
"I was doing that anyway!"
Akiol was mentoring, "Never let your guard down! You never know what your opponent might have up their sleeve! Brace yourselves, this one is gonna be much harder!"
Givale lifted her fist and hovered it next to Mira, "We got this right?"
Smiling Mira fist bumped her, "Yeah!"
Forming her bow made of mana Givale began to create an arrow, "Don't get paralyzed again though!"
Mira lifted his axe and rested it on his shoulder, "I'll try not to."
The Warden formed again through the flame. Dropping his flail he clenched his fists. Dancing brighter the Flames intensified, forming into the beast again.
The Warden breathed out, smoke leaving his helmet, "Foul Beast, work with me this time. I shall shorten thy sentence."
The Warden leaned forward and the flame beast hovered above him. Their heads seemed to merge, the rest of the body following. Shattering the ground with sheer force the Warden charged forward. At his hands claws of flame formed, granting him a new weapon!
He swung his hand forward, claws aiming to rip apart Givale.
Bang-!
Mira blocked it with the handle of his massive axe. His arms wavered as he slid back. Givale stepped to the side and shot five arrows back-to-back.
The beast's head detached from the Warden and ate the arrows. Once every arrow was consumed it returned back to the Warden.
Givale clicked her tongue, "Mira, I need you to hold him off for just a moment!"
Mira pushed back with all his force, "Okay!"
Spinning he swung his axe towards the Warden. Lifting his hand the Warden swung towards the axe and they clashed again!
Wrock scratched his nose, "Hm."
Kan'na was also interested. A magic capable of pure erasure? Also a flame that consumed magic? Such interesting things caused her mind to buzz with ideas. While keeping an eye on the fight Kan'na pulled out a small notebook with a pencil and wrote several notes. She even sketched a few magic circles.
Mira's axe bounced back and embedded itself into the ground. The Warden then swung towards him, the flame claws tearing through his chest.
The wounds healed at an astonished rate. However it was still much slower compared to when the Origin Hydra awoke. Mira freed his axe and swung it overhead.
Lifting his hands the Warden blocked the blow. His entire body bent from it. The axe was incredibly heavy, coupled with Mira's strength it wasn't easy to push it back!
Akiol smiled, "Ah they grow up so fast. Once I teach them how to properly wield their weapons they will be quite a force to be reckoned with."
Yielya leaned on her staff, "Mira's regenerative abilities remain?"
"It's not as exaggerated, but he still has quite a bit of the Hydra's ability."
"Here I thought it was Jarvis' job to have all the unique creatures."
"He's doing quite the job too."
Yielya smacked her lips, "You're no fun."
A wave of powerful mana burst forth. Those sensitive to it had their eyes drawn to Givale. The bow she created with mana grew several times large. Holding it horizontally she primed a much larger arrow. This one seemed like it opened a pocket to space itself!
The arrow's force seemed to tug her forward, as she crouched and extended a leg to steady herself. Pulling the bow back she grit her teeth, "Now Mira!"
Mira leapt backwards, the ground crumbling beneath his feet. The moment he was safe Givale released the arrow.
The force that it shot forward with sounded like a ballista. The arrow tore through space as it seemingly teleported directly in front of the Warden. Givale watched it with glee, "You can't eat this!"
Stars shouted, 'That's not fair! You can't copy my moves!'
BOOM-!
Givale responded through the link, 'It's not the same! Trust me!'
The arrow exploded in front of the Warden. Several twinkling bits of mana spread out in an area. Givale reached out and closed a palm, "Erase!"
The tiny sparkling bits exploded and erased whatever it came into contact with. Givale's new move was a chain explosion!
Akiol watched the whole process and found it similar to the move he attempted to use against Ryolu. Except this time it was made of Givale's own magic.
The several explosions tore apart the Warden. Extinguishing the flame he relied upon. His final words faded, "Foul. . . Prisoners! You will fall. . . before the King!"
As the last bit of flame died out, a light descended from above and littered the ground with loot.
Akiol raised an eyebrow at this, "Since when was there a rain of items?"
"Amazing, to think these two could handle a boss we all struggled on.", Terwin shook his head in amazement.
Tilia removed her War Sight and Terwin walked forward, "As per our agreement you're free to take the first item."
"Tilia you can choose.", Akiol shrugged.
Tilia was still the one most familiar with the game items and their properties. Giving her the choice of picking would increase their chances of getting the best item.
Picking through the items Tilia lifted one up and inspected it, "That's interesting."
She tossed the item to Terwin, who barely caught it. Upon inspecting it he raised an eyebrow, "This is. . . ?"
[Essence of Pure Flame]
When beast of flame and man combine, they form an essence of a flame so pure.
(This is a quest item, it will expire upon death or when leaving the dungeon.)
-End-
"A Dungeon quest item?"
Tilia shrugged, "It seemed like something you might need."
Terwin stored it within his bag, "I'll keep it with me."
Leaving the pile of loot Tilia placed an item within her bag, "Got the item, do you want to rest or shall we continue?"
Several Players quickly organized the loot. Terwin examined his surroundings and laughed, "You made that boss look easy. I think we're all in good shape to continue. I think it's about time we leave this prison."
Akiol on the other hand approached Givale and Mira, "Excellent job, it seems your teamwork is getting better. How do you feel?"
Givale grinned and made a thumbs up, "Fantastic! I got to use my special move!"
Mira tilted his head, "I don't know?"
Wrock walked up and tapped Mira, "Look at me for a moment please."
Turning with a confused expression Mira asked, "What's wrong?"
Wrock exchanged a look with Akiol. A small conversation seemed to happen in a split moment before Akiol shrugged. Wrock returned his focus to Mira and said, "That energy you used, can you call upon it again?"
Pausing for a moment Mira's eyes glazed over. He then shook his head, "I don't know what that was."
"Alright, forget what I said then."
Akiol warned, "You two did fantastic, but you need to rest between. Take a breather and spectate for a while okay?"
"Okay!"
"Yes Akiol-Sensei!"
The two skipped off to join the rest of the players. Akiol watched them for a moment before asking, "So what is it?"
With a scratch of his chin Wrock responded, "I don't think Mira can use Spirit properly just yet."
"I had a similar feeling, but I'm sure you know more than me."
"That energy he used, I think it was more leftovers than anything."
That was a bit unexpected. Akiol prompted, "Leftovers?"
"From the awakening. It looks like after he calmed some of the Hydra's energy remained and lingered. That battle seemed to have cleared him of that energy, and it isn't visible anymore."
"So he was merely borrowing."
"Spot on. Now that there isn't anymore energy I'm afraid the only thing he can do in order to get in touch with Spirit again is to face the Hydra's Heart. It seems like Mira isn't too keen on fusing with that however."
"Is it one-sided?"
"It seems like the Hydra Heart is fully willing to fuse with him. I sense no disturbance or irregularities. Just seems to be a problem with Mira."
"All left to him is it? A shame I can't help with that."
"A little guiding hand won't hurt, but he will have to face that alone."
"Thanks, when he does can I ask for your assistance in training him?"
"Naturally."
Akiol grinned, "I appreciate it."
Wrock shook his head to shrug off the thanks, "We're lagging behind, best we catch up."
