Keya's blue hair fluttered from the wind.
He immediately gave orders to his teammates and began walking towards the most obvious landmark.
He suddenly stopped, a pink object fluttering about carelessly. He asked aloud, "A Cherry Blossom petal?"
Sching~~
His entire team turned to light together, all dying at once without a fight. Not even a minute into battle.

-Anon771: This is concerning.
-Anon626: Oh please do tell.
-Anon597: . . .
-Anon771: Is it a trump card they decided to use now? Such instantaneous death!
-Anon626: Ahem, behold Bakery Basics. Their background is almost completely hidden, but they're a popular in-game party.
-Anon597: . . .As much as I hate to say this, please go on.
-Anon771: . . .
-Anon626: Bakery Basics have risen in strength, their combat ability is far from ordinary. Anyone who had the misfortune to be their enemy has reached nothing but death!
-Anon771: Moreover that sword. . .
-Anon626: Mhm, that sword!
-Anon597: That sword?
-Anon626: Wait a minute, you know that sword?!
-Anon771: That sword. . . is it really?

Akiol drank the rest of the tea and placed the cup down, "How interesting."
Wrock cracked a knuckle, "You wouldn't think that would exist here."
Tilia nodded, "Just what had they gone through?"
The rest of the party were confused by their reactions. Yielya was the first to ask, "What is it?"
Akiol explained, "Their expressions, their way of fighting. In just a moment you could see this sense of determination. A feeling of a veteran warrior."
Wrock added, "The way they stood had just about zero openings from a glance. I couldn't pinpoint anything in that second."
This rose some eyebrows. While it didn't sound like much time, Wrock was someone who assisted in battle for quite some time. He was capable of spotting flaws at a glance with his natural ability. Even if it was only a second, Wrock was used to seeing flaws in time shorter than that.
What did this mean? Bakery Basics was something different. Something they hadn't anticipated coming across. Akiol drummed his fingers against the table, "This has potential to be incredibly fun."
"If we win this next match."
Akiol nodded in agreement, "True."

The crowd was abuzz, what had happened? Was that even a fight? Was that what they gave their money for?!
The organizers of the event almost jumped with fright. They hadn't expected such a move! If they did that for the third match, there would be some serious issues!
Desk Guy bit a toothpick with a frown, "Hmm, this is troublesome isn't it?"
"Why don't you help us?!"
"Just make Bakery Basics the next match. Let my favorite team go last, perhaps you could salvage the situation that way."
"We don't have time for that!"
"To switch the schedule?"
"No, if Bakery Basics does the exact same thing then even if Six Lights takes thirty minutes to end the fight there would still be so much space left in the schedule!"
Desk Guy lifted the toothpick, "Then why not accelerate the finals?"
"We can't do that! What will we do tomorrow?!"
"Erm, some random challenges? As an optional extra day?"
Feeling like they were going to faint from anger they stared at Desk Guy, "Are you an idiot?! We advertised the finals tomorrow!"
Desk Guy sighed and flicked the toothpick into a nearby trash can, "Isn't it you guys who are idiots? Did you really not consider something like this could happen?"
"What do you mean?!"
"My favorite team is capable of doing the same thing. They somehow agreed to my request to not do so. Something like this isn't impossible, it's your oversight for not thinking this could happen."
"Then we lack foresight! But what are we going to do?!"
"Do you want me to answer seriously?"
"Of course!! Have you not?!"
"No."
"Then please!"
"It's simply really, do nothing."
The coworker wobbled, "Oh. . . I'm gonna punch you."
"Ay, listen to me. Do as I said before, let them take the next match as well. If they do it again then it will actually be beneficial."
"How?"
"It will hype of the finals, if Six Lights manages to counteract this one shot ability immediately the crowd will be ecstatic. Just imagine it, a crowd full of despair to see the finals end in a single move, only for Six Lights to have nullified the attack. First they will be shocked, then they will be excited! Hope forming in their hearts that maybe this final match may actually be entertaining!"
"I've decided."
"To take my advice?"
"To punch you."
"Ah- wait-wait, let's chat-!"

With the ten minute interval between matches had passed a lot of the crowd were surprised to see the next contestants.
Bakery Basics
Final Terminus
A sense of unease began to spread. Surely it wouldn't happen again, right?
When the teams were loaded in Final Terminus immediately activated their life saving Skills the moment they saw the Cherry Blossom petal.
The held their breath for a moment, along with the crowd. Soon a sigh of relief spread across everyone. They had not died!
The leader of Final Terminus immediately gave orders, "Alright! Let's immediately head towards their location and initiate combat directly!"
However there was no response. He turned to see his teammates turning to light, an expression of confusion on his face.
They had stopped the Skill though! So why had his teammates died?
Realization formed immediately, their life saving Skills had ended. He was still alive due to his having a longer effect.
Having mere seconds to live he looked to the sky, "This is ridiculous! I leave my hopes to the finalists! Take these monsters down-!"
The leader faded into light.
The crowd began shouting in an uproar, this was a scam!
The chat sped past with words of similar to the crowd. It was nonsense! All of it!
The organizers were pulling their hair out, already petrified by the future scolding they were going to receive from their superiors.
They all wanted to shout with the crowd. They were being scammed too!

Tilia spoke, "This confirms it, those guys aren't average."
"Could you see it?"
"I don't think the hologram technology can replicate that fine of detail just yet. While it's impressive, it's still not there."
"So we have no idea what it is?"
Akiol pursed his lips, "I do believe it's similar to a Mana Technique."
Tilia rose an eyebrow, "Oh?"
"I was paying particular attention to the sword wielding one, their actions are similar to that of my {Order of Mortem}."
"I don't think I've heard of that one."
"Mana application, Stars named a particular version of it that."
They understood from the simple explanation. Tilia then asked, "So what's the difference?"
"It's not at the same level as the one I use, considering the focus they had whilst preparing it. With that we can also confirm they aren't at the same level as us in control. Though I would have to face against it to see what it is exactly."
"So the standard protection measure should work."
"Aye."
Kan'na praised, "To reach the level of mana control to being using Mana Application is no small feat. Especially within a few months of learning. These are quite the talents."
"How long did it take you to learn Application Akiol?" Wrock asked.
"Like in general?"
"Hmm? What do you mean by that?"
"Ah, let me just explain then. Technically longer than these folks. Since I never knew of it when I reached a decent stage in Mana Control. However it only took me a few tries to learn it once I knew of it."
Jarvis suddenly brought up a point, "This is only the sword wielder we are talking about though right? What about the others?"
Wrock shook his head, "Besides the fact that we know they aren't some average players, we don't know much."
"We could watch their previous matches."
"Eh, but that's boring. . ."

A woman sheathed her sword, she opened her eyes, "Done."
"Great work as always Uyana, with this we should get the money easily for Aunt Venny."
"This should easily offset her debt."
That's right! Bakery Basics was none other than the group who was deathly ill, only to be cured by some miracle!
After experiencing countless lucky encounters their strength had risen beyond that of an average player!
Now they had joined the Professional Competition in order to win the prize money, all so they could help out the Aunt who had helped them!
Uyana adjusted her sheath, "I was expecting more from our competitors. But for them to only be at this level. . .", she sighed before finishing her sentence.
"It seems we are ahead of the best. Though we shouldn't grow arrogant."
Uyana shook her head, "I wasn't saying that out of arrogance."
The crowd booed, it was clearly arrogance!
Mostly they were venting their anger, they still were upset over the lack of battles!
Noen crossed his arms, "Well if anyone can actually survive the beginning blow then maybe we can take action. However it seems like that hasn't happened."
He looked up, "And to those upset at my words, unless you could survive the blow you have no place to be upset."
The organizers quickly sent them off less they make an enemy out of the entire audience. Still they couldn't help but grit their teeth.
What were they going to do?!
