Kapitel 202: Opportunity

Akiol entered the vehicle.

Getting out of the hospital was quite a pain, due to his injuries they had gotten the authorities involved. It took a while for Akiol to state his experiences and get discharged.

He did tell them about his kidnappers, it wasn't like he planned to deal with it alone. However finding traces of them would most likely be a bit harder than hoped.

As he entered the vehicle Yielya looked back at him, "So want to tell us what happened?"

Akiol informed them of the events that occurred during the ride home. Of his kidnappers, his escape, and his near death experience.

Wrock clicked his tongue, "I think we are gonna have to ground you."

"What?"

"To the house I mean, they will probably be after you. By the looks of it they don't dare break in. Besides if you could take them on singlehandedly, I would like to see them succeed against all six of us."

"I would doubt the police would leave some sort of lookout as well.", Yielya mentioned.

Akiol shrugged, "It doesn't matter to me."

"There it is, why must you be so nonchalant about situations like these?", Wrock asked.

"What do you mean?"

"You're always uncaring when it comes to danger of your safety. Like it doesn't matter if your life is in danger."

"Would you prefer if I was paranoid?"

"No, just a bit more concerned of yourself. I don't think I have ever seen you panic."

"There was plenty of times were I panicked."

"Name one."

". . .", Akiol found his words failed him.

"Exactly."

"I did when I tested out the pod."

"Not when you took over that body, beforehand."

". . ."

Wrock shook his head, "I just don't get it."

In the land of Nera a single prophecy remained intact throughout time.

On the day the four major stars align, two children will be born at the same time.

One with eyes and hair of silver, one with eyes and hair of gray.

One will only be able to feel and give positive emotions, such as love, kindness, happiness, and such.

One will only be able to feel and give negative emotions, such as hate, greed, jealously, and such.

One is fated to be the hero of the world, destined to protect its dwellers.

One is fated to be the demon lord of the world, destined to rule over all.

The two follow their paths of growth, until their paths meet.

Only one shall remain standing.

In order of balance, the victor is sent elsewhere. The scale is even, and the balance will remain.

The sides of good and evil remain forever at war, for the Gods do not wish of peace and prosperity.

Akiol placed a palm on the worn stone that stated these words. The prophecy of Hero and Demon Lord. The prophecy he was born to follow. Yet despite his trained eye he never was able to read the final line. As if it never existed.

Turning around he stepped out of the cave, "It's time to end this war once and for all."

The three returned home, Akiol picked up his phone and said, "Fill the rest in on what happened. I have a phone call to make."

Akiol walked into a separate room and dialed a number. After a few moments a voice told him to leave a message. So he hung up and dialed again.

"Leave a message at the tone-"

Akiol hung up and dialed again.

"Leave a message at-"

Once again he called, if they didn't pick up then there would be issues.

A voice responded, "I'm here! What do you want?!"

"We need to talk, preferably in game."

"I can't I'm busy."

"I was kidnapped for having connections with a player named Opportunity Strikes."

". . ."

"Are you really still busy?"

"Meet me in Limegrain."

"Where exactly?"

"A player bar named Ogre's Wine, ask the bartender if they have anything exotic. They will reply with: 'We have a new shipment, anything you're looking for?' Answer with: A lesser variant of Dragon's Blood. Someone will then lead you to me."

"I'll be there shortly then."

Akiol shook his head and hung up, why even bother lying?

. . .

Akiol teleported to Limegrain, the city was quite different from Chalkworth. Whilst Chalkworth held a very refined and polished look, Limegrain looked worn and used. Yet despite this fact it remained to be a very popular city. Perhaps it was the aesthetic of the place.

It took a bit for him to find Ogre's Wine, but he eventually found it with some help from the civilians.

The place looked like an unpopular place, the sign was faded and old. The whole place looked like it was on the verge of collapsing.

Akiol couldn't believe it, this was a player's bar? Who would intentionally build it like this?

He walked through the door, unlike its look it didn't creak upon opening. A little bell rung as the door opened.

The bartender called out, "If you're here for food leave, we only do drinks. Prices are on the counter, we don't do refunds."

Akiol walked up and leaned against the counter, "Got anything exotic?"

The bartender casually responded, "We have a new shipment, anything you're looking for?"

"A lesser variant of Dragon's Blood."

The bartender nodded, "I'll have someone lead you to them then. You can see for yourself if it's to your liking."

The bartender leaned back facing the entrance to behind the bar, "Marco! Lead this fine customer to the exotic stuff!!"

A man scrambled out, a pair of loose glasses nearly falling off, "Yes boss!"

Akiol followed him to a room in the back. Several large barrels of drink were stacked in shelves. Akiol was decently impressed, the whole place looked far better than the outside. Everything was clean an orderly.

The man walked over to the barrel, "If you would."

He pushed the barrel's lid and it popped out. Like a small door swinging out. Akiol manipulated his body through. As he entered the barrel lid closed behind him. The entrance was small and simple, what greeted him was a beautiful room.

A woman sat on a couch, two axes sheathed on her hip. She nodded upon Akiol's arrival, "You're finally here."

Stars made a sound of excitement, 'This place is so cool! A secret room? Needing a secret password? This place is great!'

Akiol took a seat, "Indeed I am."

The woman sighed, "So, I assume you have a lot of questions. I will do my best to answer them."

Akiol pondered for a moment before asking, "What in the world did you do to have people go so far in the real world?"

"I made an enemy of many powerful figures in the game's blackmarket."

"There's a blackmarket? Wait forget I asked that, of course there is. More importantly, are you safe? They know about you in the real world you know."

"I'm fine for now."

"So Rebecca, or should I call you Opportunity? Who are these enemies you have made?"

"Stick to Rebecca please, I will physically cringe if you call me by my in-game name. Though call me Opportunity outside, for obvious reasons. As for the enemies. . . I would rather not have you involved."

"Why not?"

"These are powerful foes you know? Not your everyday dungeon boss kind, the ones with human greed."

"I can't imagine them being worse than what I have already dealt with."

"I'm sure they are. Besides, what trouble have you dealt with?"

"Want to hear?"

Rebecca sighed, "We are here anyway, might as well."

"I fought against a Crimson Immortal, made enemies with Jumpstart Pavilion and Infinity Base. Although I think Jumpstart isn't as angry with me anymore. Fought against Vertigo. Helped out a witch. Made a bet with a god."

". . . That's one adventure you have going."

"That's why I am sure I can help."

"Why do you want to help?"

"I got kidnapped, drugged, and beat with a wrench. I think this situation concerns me, and I would very much like to not have people after me."

Rebecca looked at Akiol intently, "Fine, but only you. I also need to test your strength, regardless of how powerful you think you are. There will be some people you cannot hope to go against."

"I have faced those people already. What's one more to the list?"

"I'll introduce you to my team, let me send you a friend invite."

Rebecca frowned upon noticing a notification.

Akiol lifted a finger, "Ah! I forgot to mention, I don't have access to the game interface!"

"What?"

"Don't worry about it too much, instead give me your forum stuff. I'll add you to a group chat."

"Give me yours, I can add you to our group chat for now. Though you may be kicked after this is dealt with."

"Okay, that's a little hurtful. I understand though, my username is. . ."

[Akiol had joined Group Chat]

Oranjay: Who's this?

Akiol: Yo

Oranjay: That doesn't answer my question

Opportunity: He's my younger brother, he's been affected by our issue as well. He's here to help.

Otion: No offense but. . . is he even decent?

Akiol: The title of younger seems to put me in a bad light.

Opportunity: We are about to find out.

Oranjay: How do you not know the skill of your younger brother?

Opportunity: He disappeared and cut ties at one point.

Akiol: Isn't there another in this chat? Would their name perhaps also start with an O?

Ocava: Wow, our secret has been exposed.

Akiol: It's all O's!

Ocava: It's all O's!

Opportunity: Stop fooling around, meet us at that place.

Oranjay: That place? Out of the two places I am thinking of which one are you talking about.

Opportunity: The first

Oranjay: Okay

Akiol raised an eyebrow at the conversation, "Are you sure it's the first?"

Rebecca shrugged, "I'm probably wrong. I'll get extra points if I am right though."

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see."
