'I can't take this anymore!'
Akiol flinched from the sudden loud sound in his head, "What's wrong?"
'I am still absorbed! Even after you becoming my wielder, you still absorb me!'
"It's more convenient this way."
'We had a deal!'
Akiol sighed, "Fine, we will find a blacksmith just for you."
'I want it to be on your back. If I am sheathed on your hip I will riot.'
Akiol frowned, "Back isn't as effective as waist. You need a specialized sheath for it to be even worthwhile."
'I will not be on your waist!'
Akiol pinched the bridge of his nose, "Fine. . . just stop complaining alright?"
'I will stop once I am no longer absorbed.'
Akiol walked into the blacksmith sometime later. A burly man called out in a friendly voice, "Welcome! Need armor, weapons? We have them."
Akiol walked over to the counter, "I need a specialized order."
"Oh? Alright, but that will take some time. What materials are we talking, and what do you want?"
"A scabbard, made of this material."
Akiol dispelled the crystal he had found Stars sealed in. The blacksmith raised an eyebrow, "This. . . Six Seals Crystal? What in the world? I might be able to work with this, but you want a scabbard?"
"Yes."
"Alright, I am going to need your sword measurements and your preference. Once I have all the details I can quote a price."
Akiol dispelled Breaker of Stars and placed him on the counter, "It's for this guy."
'Hello!'
At this moment Akiol could almost see the blacksmith's soul escaping from his body. It was at this point Akiol also remembered that Stars was a legendary weapon from myths. Created by the god all blacksmiths worship. He had just casually placed one of that same God's masterpiece creations on the counter in front of them.
The blacksmith stepped back and held his chest, "A-An Upper Four sword?!"
'Yes, that is me. Breaker of Stars, yet Akiol over here likes to call me Stars. You are welcome to do the same.'
The blacksmith looked between the sword and Akiol. He then proceeded to do the same thing with pointing, "You- wielding-?"
"Correct."
"I-I get to make a sheath. . . for an Upper Four sword. For its wielder?!"
'Yes, that is why we came here.'
"I. . . What an honor! I can't charge for this! I'll do it for free! No, I'll even pay you to let me!"
"Woah, let's not go to far. Stars had insisted upon getting a scabbard, so I went to the nearest blacksmith. Don't worry about paying me.", Akiol attempted to calm the blacksmith.
"Thank you! Thank you!"
'So how long will it take?'
"I can get it done within five days- no, three days! Three days!"
'Oooh, a nice timeframe.'
"Of course!"
Akiol chuckled, "Alright! I'll leave Stars here since it's his scabbard. I am sorry if he is picky."
'Hey!'
"No worries! I will make it exactly to request!"
Akiol was already halfway through the door when he called out, "I will be back in three days then!"
The blacksmith was shaking from excitement. Stars was oblivious to this and asked, 'So. . . when are we starting?'
Akiol sighed with relief, he now had his mind to himself. Stars constant chattering had taken a toll on him. A thought crossed his mind, "Is this what it's like to be a parent?"
The thought disappeared the moment after, and Akiol did not dwell on it further. Instead he began to think about what he should spend his three days on.
"Oh."
Akiol now remembered, due to him being bound to Stars, he was unable to equip a different sword.
Akiol flexed his hands a few times before declaring, "I am a pugilist for three days!"
Akiol opened the forums, this was his only source of communication after the game system had left him.
He was unable to friend request, party, or private message players. Yet he was able to message the group chats and forums, due to them not officially being part of the game system.
The Forums and group chats operated on a website, the game simply added an inbuilt browser for these specific sites.
Akiol decided he should visit Torch, due to him no longer being able to send messages, he figured he should add him to a different group chat.
Akiol looked as his coordinates so he could find the temple again, but then realized he couldn't see them.
The removal of the game system had definitely made Akiol's experience a little harder. He was unable to see name titles for monsters and NPCs. He wasn't sure how he was going to add his stats from leveling up.
In fact after receiving the Title Holder of a Strand, his strength received another boost. Although it was around 20% by Akiol's estimates.
Akiol sighed, "What is the chance Torch had sent me extra teleport scrolls?"
He went over to the Postal Office and checked his inbox. Which he had to do manually, another convenient part of the game he now lacked.
There lie five scrolls. He raised an eyebrow, he couldn't remember if he asked for extra teleport scrolls or not. Regardless he grabbed them and absorbed most of it. He then used one and his surroundings changed.
He found himself back in the workshop, robots of all different shapes and sizes walked about. Between carrying stuff from one place to another, or creating something with mysterious tools. The robots worked diligently.
Akiol called out, "Torch! You here?"
The sound of clanking metal was heard amongst the sound of machinery. A humanoid robot walked out into a clearing, their body oddly shaped.
He then called, "Akiol? What are you doing here?"
"I. . . I'm sorry, what is with your body? It's significantly different from when we last met."
"It's my construction suit, I added on several tools for ease of access. Since it is only going to be here I didn't care for performance or sturdiness."
"I see, well I wanted to ask if you don't mind me making a group chat to talk. Due to a specific. . . quest I cannot use the default game system for stuff."
"That's an odd quest, what can you not do?"
"Everything that the game lets you do. In fact I only have access to the logout button!"
"That's kind of harsh."
"It's more mildly annoying, but at the same time it provides a more immersive experience. I have to physically interact with everything now, so it's more like a new world than a game."
"Hmm, I can just add you to our group chat. As long as you don't spam in it I am sure the others won't mind. Tell me your info."
"I rarely chat in my own. My username is. . ."
[Akiol has joined Group Chat]
Think: Yo! I didn't realize you were gonna join us.
Akiol: Hello, pardon the intrusion.
Think: It's all good, I know Torch has been into contact with you more than we have. I guess his class is partially thanks to you.
Akiol: I have obtained some benefits from our relationship haha. Though it indeed has been a while. How has everything been going?
Think: I am pretty sure Quill is finishing her quest after all this time.
Akiol: The same one as before?
Think: Yeah that's the one.
Akiol: That's quite the quest.
Quill: I shall receive quite the rewards in return.
Think: Speak of the devil.
Quill: I am no devil.
Think: Debatable tbh
Basil: I had been wondering why I was being spammed with notifications, hello!
Akiol: I hope I haven't interrupted anything.
Basil: My fault for not changing my settings. Either way it is nice to see you!
Akiol: Likewise.
Torch: Akiol is facing certain circumstances and group chats are his only way of communication, if you have any problems with me adding him then good luck.
Akiol: haha. . .
Basil: Circumstances?
Akiol: Quest, I have nearly zero access to the basic game system.
Basil: Yikes.
Think: Oof, that's quite the quest.
Akiol: I just wanted to keep into contact with you all just in case you needed help again.
Quill: I don't think anyone needs help with anything. Once I am finished with my quest do you want to complete a quest or something?
Akiol: I have three days to waste, so I don't mind doing anything. Though I may not be of much help compared to last time.
Think: That was a special situation, if we can't do anything without help then we should just quit the game.
Basil: Seconded
Quill: Secondedx2
Torch: I technically need help from my robots. . . but secondedx3
Rough: Ack, temporarily muting this place. Doing something rn.
Torch: . . .
Basil: . . .
Think: . . .
Quill: . . .
Rough: Oh. . . uh secondedx4?
Akiol closed the group chat and looked over at Torch, "So shall I go, or can I get a tour?"
Torch excitedly clapped their hands, "Everyone else had been busy with something. So you are the first I get to show this too."
"So I get the tour?"
"Something like it. Come! Let me show you."
