Now the room was brightened Akiol was able to see what occupied it. Which wasn't much at all, the mech they had previously defeated still lied on the ground. The blanket was a little distance away from it. The room was large and there wasn't anything else.
Akiol joked, "This is quite the workshop."
Torch laughed, but it sounded emotionless.
Quill cringed, "I am going to need you to never laugh. That was horrifying."
Torch tapped their metallic chin, "I can make a voice modulator, though I will need some parts."
"Please do."
. . .
Akiol stayed and chatted with the group for a bit. He enjoyed their company, however he didn't wish to intrude for too long. So he excused himself, "I think it's about time for me to leave. Is there an exit around here?"
Torch responded, "Oh I lifted the teleport restriction. So if you want to you can use a scroll, I have to make an exit though."
Akiol pulled out a scroll, "Then I will be taking my leave."
Torch stopped him, "Wait a moment, let me send a friend request. It's thanks to you that I have this now."
Akiol accepted the request. This set off a chain reaction and the rest of the group sent one as well. Akiol smiled, "Then take care, try not to get stuck again okay?"
They laughed and Akiol teleported out. Arriving at Chalkworth he browsed the player's market and auction house. He wasn't looking for anything specific, just something that would catch his eye.
He failed to find something but he wasn't disappointed. He considered doing a quest, however a notification appeared.
<Update 3.4 will be releasing shortly, please log out within 30 minutes. Individuals in dungeons are granted a one-time retry token for the inconvenience. Thank you!>
That answered his options, update 3.4 was announced a few days ago. The post claimed that it would take a few days before they could implement it. It looked like it finally arrived. Akiol logged out and immediately went to the forums. There was a pinned post that was recently added a few minutes ago.
Akiol clicked the post and began to read the long update logs.
-Update 3.4 the convenience update.-
Hello all, are you enjoying A World's Legacy? Well some of you aren't, and that's because of the lack of convenience. So that's what this update is all about.
Jokes aside, this update brings many new features we hope the players will enjoy. This was created with your ideas in mind and the developers working overtime. The update will finish within two business days. We hope you all can wait patiently!
Added Features:
• New Occupations!
• Rarity Feature!
• New ways to obtain gear!
• New Player Based Buildings!
• More Exploration!
• A little secret!
(More Info Below)
New Occupations:
• Appraiser
• Chef
• Mapper
• Inscriber
• And more!
Rarity Feature:
All weapons now have a rarity. The rarity will be as follows:
Pinnacle - There is nothing stronger, there is a limit of these.
Myth Making - The items that caused Myths, the strongest of all weapons.
Legend Creating - Items in Legends, incredibly strong weapons.
Incredible - The weapons dropped from the rare bosses, still strong.
Exceptional - The weapons dropped from ordinary bosses.
Remarkable - Stronger than the mass produced weapons.
Mass Produced - The ones available at the local blacksmith.
Please note! Any weapons above mass produced will need to be appraised now. Every player residential area now has an appraisal house where players can pay a fee to have their items appraised. This price is extremely costly, so we hope players with the appraisal occupation can help with that!
Any weapons currently held on players will not be required to be appraised, only newly acquired ones. Items will need to be appraised before being put on the auction.
New ways to obtain gear:
Not everyone wants to live off the mass produced gear, even if it's still decent. However with this feature players will be able to acquire Remarkable gear easier! If your lucky it's possible to acquire Exceptional or even Incredible Gear!
How this is possible? It's simple, quests given from the Adventurers Guild have a chance to reward Remarkable or higher gear upon completion. If it does not the player receives Equipment Tokens, which can be exchanged for a piece of Exceptional gear. The gear will be changed out every eight hours. We hope this promotes players to do more quests instead of just dungeons.
New Player Based Buildings:
Players can now own shops! With the various new occupations players will be able to sell their products. We hope this introduces a new economy into the game. The shops are nearly fully customizable. However there is a limit to the number of shops available within a residential area. The bigger the residential area the more shops available to purchase.
This also means more buildings! Many of you may have noticed that even with the large amount of buildings within a city, many are unusable! Now players are able to purchase plots without a requirement, however this means that you will be billed weekly. If you fail to pay this bill then the plot will be put up for sale. Please note that not all plots are for sale, however some may be able to convince NPC's to sell their land for a hefty price.
More Exploration:
We are sure many of you are tired from walking to discover the unknown. There shall be mounts available to purchase at a new stall, and many hidden ones. Depending on the mount it can even fight for you! Summoners are granted a free Skill for a mount summon, this mount will hold the same stats of the cheapest mount. Any newly acquired mounts will replace the current one in the summon. This is optional as well.
Along with this NPC's will be wandering around the map more! Some may host exploration parties players will be able to join. There are now trade route escort quests, protect a caravan as it travels to another place! Due to this quest being longer and special the rewards will vary depending on the health of the carts.
Finally, a warning to all players. Now that NPC's are roaming, it would be best if they aren't randomly attacked. Killing an NPC permanently kills them, and you will gain a permanent bounty in the city they reside in. If a player proceeds to continue such behavior, a nationwide bounty will be issued. The rewards will be exceptional, and the punishment to the one responsible will not be light. Also, the NPC might be someone you shouldn't have angered. . .
Thank you all for playing! Make sure to tune in after this month's highlight, for we now have added a podcast for exceptional player activity and upcoming events.
Akiol raised an eyebrow at this. The update was far grander than the previous announcement made it to be. He could understand why it would need two days to implement.
He looked at the date and realized that the monthly highlight was tomorrow. He hadn't watched the last one, even though he probably was in it.
Akiol didn't recall being asked if he could be in a monthly highlight. Though he hadn't done anything in a grand scale.
He opened the chat group and joined the ongoing conversation.
Kan'na: I wonder what kinds of occupations there will be.
Wrock: I probably wouldn't get one to be honest.
Tilia: There might be a hidden one you will like.
Wrock: There might be, I won't deny it. However I probably still wouldn't put time into it.
Yielya: We should buy a house. Since we couldn't before this is a great opportunity. We need a place to meet up anyway.
Akiol: Becoming a home owner! I like the idea of a personal hideout.
Yielya: See! It should definitely be something we do.
Akiol: Want to go plot hunting when the game reopens?
Yielya: Definitely!
Jarvis: What about the mounts? I wonder if I will get one...
Wrock: . . .
Kan'na: Don't you already ride your tames?
Jarvis: It's different, the ones I ride aren't meant for riding. They said summoners get one, but I am not quite a summoner...
Kan'na: My bad, perhaps you could tame one? I wouldn't doubt some of the hidden mounts are ones you have to befriend first.
Jarvis: Oh! I hadn't thought about it that way.
Tilia: Subject change, what occupations is everyone planning to get? We should get different ones to maximize the potential.
Kan'na: Personally I want to see what inscriber is, either than that I am unsure.
Yielya: Probably something medical or support based. I need something to do.
Tilia: I was thinking appraiser for me, so I can appraise everyone's stuff for free.
Akiol: I like free!
Wrock: Agreed! My choice on an occupation remains the same.
Akiol: I was thinking about doing Chef...
Tilia: . . .
Wrock: . . .
Kan'na: . . .
Akiol: Before anyone puts more dots, what's wrong with my choice?
Jarvis: You never seemed to be interested in cooking before.
Akiol: Because I wasn't, until now. Have you tasted the food? It's heavenly! I personally learned to cook just so I can make tasty meals for myself.
Kan'na: The food is indeed far tastier than before.
Yielya: That I can agree on.
Akiol: So what are you guys doing while we wait?
Jarvis: So get this. . .
The party chatted for a while before they all headed off for the night. Everyone was excited for the new update. Before Akiol headed to bed he looked at his headset.
"Should I get the better one?"
