Kapitel 101: A Guild’s Determination

Travis took a deep breath, currently he was very annoyed. He had gathered nine Abyssal Fragments of the total ten. Yet try as he might he couldn't obtain the last one!

He was unsure how many bosses he had defeated. The bosses were even more difficult due to their natural full resistance to Abyss attacks, the only kind Travis had. Meaning most, if not all, of his skills were useless. He was forced to use his ridiculous stats to fight the bosses.

Recovering was slow, due to it being a different dimension. Travis would have to wait at least half an hour before fighting another boss. It became a rinse and repeat situation, and he was becoming annoyed.

He could use his Berserk Skill to speed things up, but due to the backlash he wouldn't dare. Berserk Skills are trump cards after all, not a commonly used skill.

As soon as he recovered his fatigue he leapt to his feet to search for another boss. He felt like he would wipe out the area before he obtained his shards.

As he was searching he noticed a change above him. A crooked black square about the size of a double door was watching him. Travis frowned and gripped his sword, he was unaware on what this was.

Then a leg appeared through the black square, eventually leading to a whole person exiting the square. It was a man with grey ashen skin, jet black hair that was slicked back and dark eyes that had no white. He was wearing a white tuxedo, shoes, and tie. The man floated down to the ground and walked towards Travis.

Travis' frown further burrowed, he didn't remember this man at all! As far as he was concerned this was a boss that was beaten already.

Travis readied his sword for a fight, the white tux man raised his hand, "Calm yourself, you should know who you're trying to fight."

Travis lowered his sword, Abyssal creatures that can speak were most likely a higher level than he was willing to deal with.

The tux man smiled, "Good, I am Marquess Flinnder. I had noticed someone was causing a ruckus in my territory and had to see for myself. It looks like your a newcomer who wields an. . . interesting source of power."

Travis dropped to a knee as soon as he heard Marquees. An Abyssal Marquess! He almost picked a fight with a royalty of the Abyss!

The royalties of the Abyss were not to be messed with. Their strength was insane, not including the fact they had the ability to delete a character! Travis almost lost all of his progress due to his confidence in his strength. This was a slap of reality, he wasn't the best.

Bowing his head Travis apologized, "Forgive my insolence, I was unaware of your greatness' position."

Flinnder smiled wider, "Good, it looks like your not completely foolish. Now I am willing to let you go if you answer my questions."

Travis bowed deeper, "Of course!"

"First of all, why are you hunting my underlings?"

Travis grit his teeth, "It was to repair my sword."

"Ah yes. . . that sword. It gives me memories you know? To think it has chosen you. Its condition is quite poor as well. You should know the only reason you were not struck down the moment you raised your sword at me was because I felt a familiar aura from it."

"I once again ask your forgiveness."

Flinnder waved his hand, "Oh calm yourself, you're a fast learner. I like that. Next question, what do you think you require to repair that weapon?"

"Abyssal Fragments."

"Hmm. . . not a bad answer. I suppose Abyssal Fragments are a good solution. . ."

"If you allow me to speak?"

"Go on."

"The Abyssal Fragments are only part of what I believe I require. I also require high class demon hearts and an Aboviol Soul."

"Ah well that would be good too. Yet that seems a little. . . inefficient. An Aboviol Soul? That would indeed be a good choice, but it's not necessary to repair it back to its formal glory."

Travis had never heard of this, "I ask your greatness' to expand on the matter?"

Flinnder thought for a moment, "Well I suppose, however I have a condition or two."

"May I ask what those are?"

Flinnder smiled, "Well you have to compensate me for the deaths of my underlings. However I am in quite the good mood, so I here are my conditions.

You will fight for me, and you will win. In return I shall help you repair that weapon, maybe even teach you a thing or two. However if you are to lose. . . well let us not think about that."

Travis weighed his options, as far as he could tell the benefits outmatched the risks. He also felt like he had no choice in the matter. Having made his choice he nodded firmly, "I accept."

Booooom-!

The stadium quaked and pieces of rubble began to fall on the players. Akiol watched the area and frowned.

Akiol: Well it didn't look like that worked.

Kan'na: It didn't? Are you sure you damaged the rune?

Akiol: Positive, it was cut in half.

Kan'na: Then it should have worked...

Akiol: Use that magical knowledge of yours, a fight might break out.

Kan'na: I was a fool! There is no way the whole thing is focused on a simple set of runes. There had to have been a backup!

Akiol read the message, he wasn't disappointed accidents happen after all. If anything he was pleased to know what was going on.

Reverence frowned at the shaking. This shouldn't have been happening.

Akiol caught his attention, "Since you seem to have no clue what is going on. This place isn't an arena. It's a sacrificial altar, and whatever it was planning to summon is well. . . summoned."

Reverence doubted those words, "Summoning alter? This place was prepared by Infinity Base..."

It hit him, whatever was going on had to do with them. Infinity Base always held a grudge so it wasn't surprising that this was going on.

He hurriedly notified the rest of the Guilds. After receiving confirmation he hurriedly left the room, but not before hesitating. He turned and stared at Akiol, "I had originally planned to teach you a lesson. However the circumstances call for a change of attention."

Akiol replied calmly, "I know, it was suspicious to begin with."

"I shall settle this at a later date, for now... do as you please." With that Reverence left the room to meet up with the other leaders of the Guilds.

Akiol twirled his sword and look at Wrock, "Well you heard him, let's go see what's causing the trouble shall we?"

Wrock grinned, "This is exciting."

They walked outside to see the various guild leaders looking at a particular individual.

"Zealous! You dare ruin this tradition?"

Zealous laughed, "Tradition? The one that further solidifies my guild's position as weakest?"

"Was this planned by True?"

"True has only given permission to carry this out. He has other things that concern him."

"Do you really think you can fight all nine of us?"

Zealous smirked, "Normally, no. However do you think you can fight me if every member of Infinity Base has a Berserk Skill??"

The shock flowed through the guild leaders, "You're bluffing!"

Zealous laughed crazily, "Or am I? Do you really think I would do all of this without something like that up my sleeve? Today Infinity Base will become number one!"

Akiol stopped to watch the interaction, he whispered over to Wrock, "I feel like we shouldn't be here."

Wrock shook his head, "No, this is time to make a cool entrance."

"Cool entrance? That's your concern?"

"Concern? No, I am certain at least one of these many players are recording this. It will most likely become public, do you really want to be some ordinary background character?"

Akiol sighed, "Fine, I am not good at this kind of thing."

Wrock chuckled, "It will be fine. I will follow your lead."

Akiol once again sighed in his heart. He found this to be unnecessary, it didn't help that his acting skills were bad.

Akiol pushed through the crowd and walked over to the guild leaders, "So this is what the commotion is about?"

Zealous frowned at Akiol, "This doesn't concern you."

"Doesn't concern me? I was invited to this event, plotted against, and now the whole competition has been overthrown. I think I am very well concerned."

One of the guild leaders huffed, "Plotted against? Don't be ridiculous, we don't have time for petty squabbles."

Akiol gave a them cold glare, "Don't play innocent with me."

"Enough! We have more important matters at hand!" Another yelled.

Zealous was smiling cockily as his opponents fought amongst themselves, "Oh no please go on. I will wait here."

Akiol tapped his sword on his shoulder, "Please do, your death will be quick."

Zealous' smile grew wider. The guild leaders began arguing, "Are you not aware of his stats? That is not someone you can take on alone!"

Akiol used [Chilling Aura] while it failed to freeze any of the guild leaders it gave him a terrifying aura, "You deal with the main force, we will take care of him."

Wrock teleported above Zealous, knocking him into the ground with a solid kick reinforced with [Monstrous Strength].

Zealous recovered and began to float in the air, "Your far too late to stop me!"

He released a large beam of red energy towards the Guild leaders. Akiol reflected it back with [Reflective Metal]. The beam stopped in front of Zealous, the Vice-leader stopped it with one hand.

Akiol grouped up with Wrock, the two stood facing off with Zealous.

Akiol grinned, "It's time to shine."
