It had been quite some time since Travis had joined. His base stats had risen to an extent he was confident that no player would be able to fight him on equal footing.
Travis was about above average in his skill, however as he played an opportunity appeared. It was a strange hidden mini game, the player would have to fight soldiers of increasing difficulty. Both the player had the soldier had the same stats, this was a great opportunity for any player to increase their skill level.
Travis spent a good amount of time here, levels weren't important just yet. Once he was comfortable of his increased skill level, he continued obtaining stat crystals.
The quests only got easier, Travis was becoming stronger at a rate which no player would ever reach. After another week Travis was confident on easily taking on a boss the same level. With his Bersker skill, he felt like he could take on a boss twice his level.
Travis was currently traveling to a small hidden cabin which would provide him of another stat crystal. As he ventured a cloaked figure jumped out in front, dashing with a dagger.
Without hesitation Travis swung his sword, the power behind the swing was terrifying. Definitely not the strength of someone his level. The cloaked figure went to block, however once it did it was sent tumbling towards a tree.
Travis immediately followed up by stabbing the cloaked figure, finishing off the rest of its health. Collecting the loot a particular item caught his eye.
It was a letter with a strange seal, it was familiar to Travis yet he couldn't remember. Opening the letter he read its contents.
He remembered where he had seen the seal before. It was a cult that dealt with assassinations. If he remembered correctly, they were holding on to one of the lower eight swords.
If he could get his hands on the sword he would further cement his position on the top. In fact there were many artifacts the cult kept that he would find satisfactory.
If possible Travis would have liked to obtain Peerless Edge, however he didn't have a single clue on where it was located, if at all. The one who wielded it before never revealed where it was found, although Travis doubted he'd be able to obtain it anyway.
The upper four swords would also be appreciated, however their location had never been released either. Peerless Edge, Bringer of Waves, and Vitalityion were the only found swords. One of them never had been found, so any information on it was hard to find.
What happened to that weapon was unknown.
Travis would still gratefully accept a lower eight sword. The power of the swords were massively impressive. Any player who owned one would be heavily sought by guilds, either to recruit the player or buy the sword. There was one player who declined all the offers made, of course the guilds decided to hunt them down. They wouldn't let a powerful weapon go uncontrolled.
Travis decided to first complete the stat crystal quest, wiping out the cult could wait.

Wrock used [Mastered Basic Punch] the shockwave smacked into the giant mannequin, knocking it off balance. Kan'na followed up with a large exploding fireball, the explosion caused the mannequin to fall over completely. All while burning.
It crashed loudly, Akiol utilized the opportunity to begin slicing it up. The mannequins were made of wood, so it wasn't a difficult job to make cuts.
Kan'na set the rest of the mannequin on fire, it struggled to get up as it joints burned and snapped. It didn't take long before the mannequin was just a heap of scorched wood.
As Akiol was returning to the party, the mannequin swiftly began to recover. Standing on its feet again it began swinging and stomping at the party.
Akiol sighed, it seemed like the same rules applied to the giant form.

"Intruder!" A cultist yelled before being cut down.
Travis had entered the cult's hidden base. He remembered the location from his memory, but it took a few clues to find the entrance.
The cultists were high levels, the weakest being level 150. However Travis' stats could compare to a level 200. This was why he was confident in taking on bosses his own level. A boss definitely would have higher stats than a player. Regardless if they were the same level or not. Or else they wouldn't be considered a boss. So a level 100 boss would have around the same stats as a level 200 player. Depending on the boss this could be higher or lower.
The cultists weren't bosses, having the stats of a base level 150 wasn't enough to defeat Travis. This didn't mean there weren't any special cultists however.
A man emerged from around a corner, a long dagger in their grasp. He twirled the dagger while asking, "What brings you here?"
Travis responded curtly, "You have a treasure I want."
"A shame, you will have to get through me for it."
The dagger was thrust towards Travis, normal players would find that the dagger was immensely fast, however since Travis had high stats he was able to see the dagger's movements.
This was due to the large difference in stats. It took a bit of coding assistance, but players with higher speed were capable of seeing other attacks like they were in slow motion. Additionally their own attacks would become a blur to those who were significantly slower. Not everyone was capable of adapting to this, but they would quickly be filtered out.
Travis swung his sword clashing into the dagger, neither of them moved from the clash. Travis' eyes narrowed, this meant that their stats were similar. Executing a basic skill given to all warriors, Travis' blade hit with more force. This caused the arm holding the dagger to be forced backward with force. Travis used the opportunity to slash the chest of the dagger holding man. Dealing a decent amount of damage.
The man holding the dagger failed to flinch, immediately reversing his grip and slashing towards Travis' throat. Dodging the swing by leaning back a bit Travis kicked the man's stomach. Following the blow Travis used [Uppercut Swing] making the man stumble back.
Sliding his foot forward Travis thrust his sword into the heart of the man. Doing critical damage and reducing their health dramatically. Now that the enemies have become level 100+ they could no longer be instant killed with a critical strike. It still dealt heavy damage.
Man spat blood and gripped the sword. Instead of attempting to pull it out he moved forward thrusting his dagger towards Travis. The dagger pierced Travis' shoulder, with the sharp pain Travis winced and pushed the man off his sword with his foot.
The man was breathing heavily, "You. . . your path ends here. . ."
The man began to glow brightly, light began to burst out of their body. Travis, alarmed, retreated quickly. The man exploded into a glowing ball the room turned to rubble, Travis was caught in the explosion. Due to his high stats he managed to survive, but he couldn't help but curse.
The cultists loved to self destruct, it would be a pain to continue dealing with this. Drinking an HP regen potion Travis continued down the maze of hallways. He didn't remember where the cult's treasury was, but he would find it eventually.
Travis continued to cut down the opposing cultists during his exploration. After an hour of searching the seemingly endless labyrinth he found an armored door. Normally a player would need a key, but Travis knew another way around.
Moving to the wall he attacked it with a skill, the wall broke inwards and the treasury room was revealed. Travis immediately moved towards the end of it, in about fifteen seconds a boss would appear. Travis intended to take the lower eight sword before having to confront the boss.
Shattering the decorative glass he gripped the sword. As he did a notification appeared in front of him.
<User requires class (Abyss Caller) to equip.>
<User can forfeit their class and all skills to obtain class (Abyss Caller). Accept?>
Travis knew about Abyss Caller, it was the previous owners class. He wasn't informed it was part of the sword.
Travis hesitated, he wanted his previous class yet a class given by a lower eight sword wouldn't be any worse. He quickly accepted, all his skills disappeared from his list. He was glad he hadn't attempted any skill stone quests yet. Then it hit him, his Berserk skill!
<Compatible skill located (Abyssal Surge) integrating with class...>
<Complete! (Abyssal Surge) has evolved into (Abyss Release).>

Hi there! You might have noticed something in this chapter. That’s right, it’s the {}.
Any extra skill shown in the skill description will now be surround by {}. This is to separate the extra skill from the description, while still being part of it.
I will not be changing previous chapters to fit this, this will simply be something from now on.
Also, thanks for reading!!
