Chapter 120
"Onii-san, Onii-san...Wake up please~" A melodious and gentle voice of a girl awaken me from my slumber. Alongside that melodious voice, I can feel my left hand's fingers tickled like being licked by something.
"Moshi mo-shi~ Onii-san... Wake up please~" Although I have woken up, I still have not opened my eyes yet, thus the girl gently said it once again. And my hand still being licked by something.
I opened my eyes to see an angel looking at me with a gentle smile on her face. And a black cat licking my fingers as if she is trying to wake me up too. Then, I lifted my body to sit on the bed and stretched my body as usual.
"Good morning, Onii-san." The angel, Kanase Kanon smiled and said.
"Nyaa~" The black cat, Kuroneko nyaa-ed as if she is greeting me too.
This black cat is a cat that Abby suddenly brought back home when she was having a stroll. We want to name her as she is going to be with us for a quite long time, but Abby keeps saying 'Kuroneko-san is Kuroneko-san!' Thus, this cat's name decided to be Kuroneko. Or Kuro to be precise.
"Good morning, Kanon, Kuro." I smiled as I greeted back while my hand reached Kuro and caressed her head.
"Nyaa~" Kuro purred joyfully when I caressed her head.
"Where are Chisa and Grayfia?" I asked wonderingly because last night it was Chisa's turn to sleep with me and Grayfia was usually the one who wakes me up.
"Chisa-chan already went to Aquarium, and Grayfia-san is making a pancake for Abby-chan right now. I thought Abby-chan would make her own pancake after learning how to do it. But it seems she still ask Grayfia-san to make it." Kanon answered and said as she opened the window of my room to let the sunlight enter.
"Well, she has another reason to learn it after all. That is to make her own pancake...in day Nanaka limited the amount of pancake she could eat. Well, she immediately throws the idea because she found out the one she made wasn't as good as the one Nanaka, Grayfia or Shiori made, though." I chuckled and said.
"Fufufu...That's very Abby-chan like." Kanon giggled and said. Come to think of it. I never saw Kanon angry at absolutely anything. Is she even able to get angry? Or maybe she chooses to hold back?
"Nee... Kanon. Can I ask something?" I said.
"Of course, Onii-san. What is it?" Kanon tilted her head and said.
"Have you ever got angry? I mean, it's been about a year since I met you. But, I never saw you get angry at anything." I curiously asked. Actually, the reason I asked her is that I think she might have held back showing feelings other than happiness to us.
Not because she hates us, rather it's because she thinks of us as the family she never had before we meet. This is just my intuition, but she probably thinks she doesn't want to trouble us.
Because even now, she never asked for anything from any of us even though we're fine with it. And although this might just her being an angel as always, she even woke up early in the morning to help the maid.
"Eh? Of course, I have...I am a human after all." Kanon smiled and answered.
"Jii..."
"Kanon, can you sit here please? I tapped at the space beside me and said.
"Hmm? Okay..." Albeit a bit curious, Kanon walks and then sit beside me. I looked at her who adorably tilted her head wondering what I want to say and then gently flicked her forehead.
"Etto..." Kanon caressed her forehead while looking at me with a confused expression.
"*Sigh*...Do you remember what I told you when Natsuki-chan and I invited you to live with us?" I sighed and then asked with a serious expression.
"I am certain you said 'Although we can't be your parents, we could be your family. That's why, how about live with us?' right?" Kanon answered.
"There you go. I thought you forgot about that." I shook my head and said.
"There is no way I forgot about it, Onii-san. That day, the words you said to me took one of the most special places in my heart after all." Kanon closed her eyes and said with a smile.
"Then, why would you still hide your feelings in front of your family? For example, you never get angry. But I am sure you know that's not the only feeling you've been holding back, right?" I looked at her eyes and said.
"..." Kanon widened her eyes when she heard my words as if it was correct.
"You see, Kanon. The word 'Family' holds different meanings for everyone. Some think that a family is a group of people related by blood. Some think that family is only a place to start and then leave when it's the time.
But you see, I believe the word 'Family' hold one meaning to me. Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones that would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.
That's why you don't need to hold back your feelings in front of us. You can trouble us with anything. You can tell us what you want. Because as I have told you before, we are family." I smiled and said.
"...Hehe, thank you Onii-san. As you have said, a part of me doesn't want to trouble Onii-san and the others. But it seems, I have been stupid all this time." Kanon giggled and said with a dazzling smile.
"Oh but, it is true I can get angry sometimes. However, since I live here, I never got angry even once. Because all people in the house are very kind to me." Kanon added.
"Hoo...Is this the power of 'Angel of Shuuchiin'? As expected, an Angel never gets angry after all." I smirked and teasingly said.
"O-onii-san...Please don't call me that... It's embarrassing..." Kanon lowered her head and shyly said.
"Why? That's your title in Shuuchiin, though? Yukino even told me you got the same title in Tokyo too." I said with a teasing smile.
"M-mou! Please stop calling me with that, Onii-san!" Kanon pouted and said in an adorable angry expression. I can't even describe what kind of angry expression is that. It's just, that's adorable.
"Hehe...My bad. But, it seems it does the work to make you a bit angry. Still, it doesn't feel like that because your angry face was too adorable, though." I said with a teasing smile.
"Hmmph!" Kanon humphed as she looked away but her cheeks are red. The gap between her usual gentle demeanor and angry expression was just too big. TAFW or too adorable for the world. Looking at that, I decided to prank her a bit. Thus, I...
*Tickle* *Tickle*
"Hahahahah..." I tickled her belly with both of my hands causing her to laugh uncontrollably.
"Hahaha... Shtop it...Haha... Onhii-shan..."
"Hell no!" I instantly answered with a smirk. In the end, we ended up laid our bodies on the bed while looking at each other.
"Haa...Haa...Mouu...Onii-san is such a bully..." Kanon said while trying to catch her breath.
"Hehe... my bad. At any rate, other than getting angry, I want you to be selfish sometimes. You can ask anything from me or any of us here, I will support you and I am sure everyone will do the same." I smiled and said while my face facing her and directly looking at her eyes.
"...Hehe...Then, if I said I want to be a novelist, would you support me?" Kanon giggled and asked.
"Of course, I will support you with all my might..." I smilingly said while my hand reaching toward her and caressed her cheek.
"Thank you very much, Onii-san." Kanon closed her eyes and said while her hand touched my hand. After a while, she opened her eyes, and we tenderly looked at each other. Then, our face gradually became closer, and our lips were about to touch each other, but...
"Master, I am sure you are already awake. So, it's time for me to do my most important dut-..." Grayfia half-opened the door and said but she stopped when she saw us.
"Should I come back one or two hours later?" Suddenly, she was about to close the door and said. Hearing that, Kanon and I looked at each other and laughed.

"Well, seems like it's time for you to prepare, Onii-sama. You're going to visit Ayase-chan's house, right?" Kanon smiled and said.
"That's true, but before that..." I nodded and said. Then, I lightly kissed her lips which made her widened her eyes before smiled.
"Grayfia, please come in." I stood up from the bed and shouted. Then, the door opened again revealing Grayfia who displayed her usual calm expression.
"Understood, Master. Which means now is the time for me to do my duty, right?" Grayfia calmly said.
"Yes, yes, I know." I shook my head and said while I spread my hand waiting for her to do the usual.
"Do you want to help me, Kanon-sama?" Grayfia suddenly asked Kanon who just stood up.
"Is it fine?" Kanon asked back.
"Of course." Grayfia nodded and said.
"Alright then!" Kanon smilingly said.
"Well then, let's change master's clothes."
