"Are you okay?"

Adrian downed the rest of the water bottle's contents before he answered Johan's question. "I'm fine. Just a little sore."

Johan only gave him a discerning look. It made Adrian want to pinch his frown away, but one glance at Russell stopped him from acting affectionately towards the man that was no longer his.

Well, Johan was never his in the first place.

They were seated under the shade of a pine tree, watching Russell on the training ground while he sparred with Johan's scary cousins. It's like watching Russell spar with a clone of himself. It's terrifying, but Adrian would be lying if he said it didn't amaze him.

Russell's every movement exhibited precision and mastery of the art. It was almost laughable how he once thought he could beat Russell just so he could have Johan to himself. In the end, he only ate dust garnished with bitterness.
