A hasty and rather bossy text message from Olivia Walker interrupted the conversation, probably at the perfect time, though I caught myself scowling at the inordinately snippy tone of the line of letters glaring at me from my cell's glowing screen.

My office. Ten minutes.

Well now. While there were times that text only could be misconstrued and an angle of emotion or intent placed on it that had nothing to do with the sender's actual mental state of the moment, that once known could easily alter the ultimate meaning, it was pretty clear from the mayor's command-no its, buts or ands about it as far as I was concerned-this was obviously not one of those times.
