A dragon wand is any wand that has a sliver from a dragon claw, a shard from a dragon fang, a sliver from a dragon scale, or a small slice of dried dragon wing skin in its core.

Dragons (Draconus inflamatus) are by far the best known of the magical beasts. Dragons are also the largest of all living reptiles. While European dragons (Draconus inflamatus occidentalis) are shaped like gigantic lizards with wings, Asian dragons (Draconus inflamatus orientalis) typically have bodies with the sinuous shape of snakes. Although similar in shape to the dragons of Europe, the much smaller ice dragons of Siberia (Draconus glaciem) are unique among dragons in that while their breath is quite hot, it never ignites into true flames.
